Bernie Sanders came to Ann Arbor today to attach Trump, and rile up the kids for Clinton… and it was awesome

Endearingly disheveled hero of the American left, Senator Bernie Sanders, made his way through Michigan today, pumping up crowds on behalf of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the run up to next month’s presidential election. Our job, he told the crowd that gathered to hear him speak at the University of Michigan’s Museum […]

Is the government really coming for the guns of climate change deniers?

Sometimes, on my way home from work, if I can’t find anything else on the radio, I listen to the ranting of WAAM’s Terry “Thayrone X” Hughes. The last that I heard, over 4,500 communities had experienced record high temperatures this week. Apparently, streets are literally buckling in some places, like in St. Louis, where they’ve now surpassed the 100-degree mark for eight consecutive days. Several dozen people have died already and it looks as though the nation’s corn crop, among others, […]

Derrick Jensen on the necessity of armed revolution, the futility of conservation, and the inherent violence of science

A few nights ago, as a part of Eastern Michigan University’s weeklong “Activism and Education” festivities, noted author and environmental activist Derrick Jensen addressed students and members of the Ypsilanti community at Pease Auditorium. What follow are my very rough notes. As I spent half my time mopping sweat from my red, wrinkled brow, I’m […]
