I know it’s been a bit crazy this weekend, what with the news about Trump friend Steve Wynn having to step down as head of Finance for the Republican National Committee amid multiple horrifying allegations of sexual misconduct, and Vladimir Putin having his most prominent critic, Alexei Navalny, arrested in Moscow amid growing protests, but there’s something that I wanted to be sure to pass along. Late last week, news broke in the Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant that, starting back in 2014, hackers working for the Dutch intelligence agency AIVD had penetrated the Red Square headquarters of the Russian hacking group Cozy Bear, allowing them to witness the 2016 theft of Democratic Party emails in real-time. And, that’s not all. Thanks to a hacked security camera in a hallway of the university building that Cozy Bear operates out of, the Dutch were able to identify the Russian spies who were actually in the room when the DNC hack took place. And all of this information, according to de Volkskrant, was promptly turned over to members of the American intelligence community.
[While this story out fo the Netherlands didn’t get much play in the United States, the Washington Post has a good piece, in case you find yourself wanting more.]
So, during that first presidential debate, when Donald Trump said that it could have been China, or “somebody sitting on their bed who weighs 400 pounds,” who hacked the DNC, our intelligence community knew for a certainty, thanks to the Dutch, that it was Russia. And, assuming he was receiving security briefings at this point, as he was the Republican nominee for president, Donald Trump knew this as well.
Here’s video of Dutch journalist Eelco Bosch van Rosenthal speaking with CNN affiliate NOS about the de Volkskrant exclusive.
WATCH: I spoke to the Dutch journalist @eelcobvr who broke the news that Dutch intel spied on Russian “Cozy Bear” hackers and warned the U.S. government. Here’s Eelco Bosch van Rosenthal from CNN affiliate NOS: https://t.co/9texznwavG
— Robyn Curnow (@RobynCurnowCNN) January 26, 2018
[The Dutch, it should be noted, have reason to both loathe and be suspicious of the Russians. It was, after all, Russian sponsored troops in the Ukraine that shot down civilian flight MH17 on July 17, 2014, killing 193 Dutch passengers.]
So, for those of you keeping track at home, we now have yet one more independent data point. First, as you’ll recall, we heard about Australian diplomat Alexander Downer going to the American authorities when, at a London bar, he’d heard Trump national security advisor George Papadopoulos mention that the Russians had hacked DNC emails that would aid the Trump campaign. And, now, thanks to this report in de Volkskrant, we know that the Dutch not only knew about the hack, and told us about it, but actually watched the whole thing go down live, taking photos of the people entering and exiting the room using a hacked security camera. And, let’s not forget, we also know that, according to a source within the Russian government, Putin himself ordered the cyber campaign to disrupt our election in order to damage Hillary Clinton and aid Donald Trump.
So, really, regardless of what you might want to believe, we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Putin interfered in our election in order to assist Trump, and we know that members of Trump’s campaign knew this was happening. And, furthermore, we know that Trump fired FBI Director James Comey because he refused to stop the Russia investigation, indicating that he knew the danger that the investigation posed to his administration.
Oh, and, speaking of Russia, tomorrow is the deadline for Trump to implement those sanctions that overwhelmingly passed both the House (419-3) and Senate (8-2) last July… I wonder what he’ll do?
For what it’s worth, Fox News isn’t talking about any of this. Tonight, they’re airing a 2-hour special on the scandals of Bill Clinton. And that’s not all. They’ve also got Jeanine Pirro in the woods of Chappaqua, New York, searching for Hillary Clinton like she was a sasquatch.

But the FISA memo…
Obstruction of justice case now involves three FBI agents in addition to Comey. http://foreignpolicy.com/2018/01/26/trump-launched-campaign-to-discredit-potential-fbi-witnesses/
Vault 7
HW would it be OK for Trump to have the deep state work to undermine the upcoming Russian election to keep that sleaze ball Putin out of office?
And what, pray tell, is Vault 7? Let me guess, it’s a secret room beneath a DC pizza shop where child sex workers guard FBI secret society meetings.
Why would we do that? That is the kind of thing the CIA has been doing in countries around the world for a long time and Trump wants to stop.
wikileaks release of CIA cyber spy tools showing they have the ability to spoof any country to make it look like they are spying.
Why would we do that? Maybe because the man is a dictator who is thwarting democracy?
I was thinking yesterday how funny it is that when I was coming up The NY Times and the FBI were viewed as establishment and suspicious by the left and now the left is embracing the NYT and the FBI. What the hell happened?
We are going to be busy sorting out our own traitors and puppet dictators around the world for a while. Let Russians deal with their own problems.
Ha-Ha – just read that Clinton was at the Grammys last night, so Fox wasn’t going to find her in the woods. Of course she wanted to read the part from F&F about McDonalds!
Russia’s problem is our problem. They’ve convinced half of America that the president is in collusion with them leading us to waste time instead of doing the real work that needs to be done. It’s the greatest espionage ever pulled off in political history.
No, it’s the DNC/FBI/DOJ/CIA that convinced half of America of that. It’s the end of the line for the whole concocted story. House committee meets at 5:00 to vote to release the FISA abuse memo.
I like you HW – I just hope you’re not….

Point taken.
I think fixing Michigans roads should be a priority.
While everyone is fixated on this stupid reality show (and its fans are true simpletons), local problems persist.
Has Trump said anything about the Navalny attack in Moscow yesterday?
Fox News last night was reporting that Steve Wynn, the Chair of the RNC Finance Committee, was a Democrat. They dialed it back a little in this article, but you can still see what they’re going for.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/01/28/steve-wynn-former-rnc-finance-chair-also-gave-big-donations-to-democrats.html
House Intelligence Committee member Eric Swalwell on why Trump isn’t taking action on the sanctions against Russia: “I think that the president’s unwillingness to impose sanctions against Russia shows that he feels like he owes them something, because they did something for him.”

734– Big money political donors regularly donate to candidates from both parties, especially if they believe they will win (like Clinton) in order to maintain their influence, get a seat at the table. This should surprise no one.
IL– The debate re infrastructure spending is happening in MI between Snyder and GOP reps. GOP reps want a tax cut (passed the house so far) and Snyder wants to take the budget surplus and increase funding for schools and infrastructure. I believe Snyder, only because poor K-12 education funding and infrastructure are limiting capital investment here– which seems to be the only criteria by which he gages MI success. Out infrastructure has been neglected for decades but especially in the last 5 years, as Lansing stripped funding from both municipalities and MDOT. http://www.bridgemi.com/public-sector/how-michigan-tax-proposals-will-affect-you-and-state-budget
Maybe you know all this. There is really no point in paying much attention for Dems, because gerrymandering has very much limited our power to affect any change. Snyder has not built a moderate coalition of GOP reps to swing any vote (also likely due to gerrymandering which favors candidates who appeal to the base, and are only beholden to the base since they are effectively elected in the primaries not the general). The good news is there is progress on redistricting reform in MI and nationally via the courts and a ballot proposal for 2018. None of that is likely to impact elections until after 2020 though. All we can do is hope Snyder cuts a deal on the Senate version of the budget.
I’m not sure paying attention to the Mueller investigation, which is more sport than anything, in anyway limits us in talking about our crumbling infrastructure. There’s a degree of dis-heartedness about the roads. MI was so broke for so long, I think we are accustomed to a certain level of decay v other more wealthy states. People here always act surprised when anything is updated (likeDTW). The expectations bar is low.
I suppose we could be begging Trump for more money for infrastructure like he promised…
McCabe steps down.
Nothing new here. He has been indicating he was going to retire since December. He becomes eligible for his pension in March.
” FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe has told staff he is stepping down in late March and will take leave until then” says CNN
Now if he was fired, and thus not eligible to receive his pension, that would be something worth noting.
Another long term means to address the MI political imbalance (and a lot of SOS weirdness, especially in Detroit in 2016) is to join the Voting Rights Amendment campaign in MI : https://promotethevotemi.com/
McCabe was harassed by Trump (another form of obstruction of justice) but is retiring in March as planned. No news. Sorry HW. Keep trying.

Silicosis, you made a mighty bad break of me;
Silicosis, you made a mighty bad break of me;
You, robbed me of my youth and health.
All you brought poor me was misery.
Now, Silicosis, you’re a dirty robber and a thief;
Yes, silicosis, you’re a dirty robber and a thief;
Robbed me of my right to live,
and all you brought poor me is grief.
I was there diggin’ that tunnel for just six bits a day;
I was diggin’ that tunnel for just six bits a day;
Didn’t know I was diggin’ my own grave,
Silicosis was eatin’ my lungs away.
I says Mama, Mama, Mama, please cool my fevered head;
I says Mama, Mama, Mama, come and cool my fevered head;
I’m going to meet my Jesus,
God knows I’ll soon be dead.
Six bits I got for diggin’, diggin’ that tunnel hole;
Six bits I got for diggin’, diggin’ that tunnel hole;
Takes me ‘way from my baby,
It sure done wrecked my soul.
Now, tell all my buddies, tell all my friends you see;
Now, tell all my buddies, tell all my friends you see;
I’m going ‘way up yonder,
Please don’t grieve for me.
He is on leave now till official retirement. Any wagers on if he will be fired before then? You know I am a betting man.
Wray saw FISA memo Sunday, McCabe takes leave Monday.
The Mr. Warlord fights even when no one shows up to the ring.
If you aren’t showing up to the fight don’t talk like you want to.
What are you even trying to say? There are two responses to what I said so I responded. It sounds so moronic to say that: “The blah blah blah blahs even when blah blah blah.” It’s so dumb it makes me feel dumber to think about. You are actually dumbing down the web a little bit.
I’ll take that bet, HW.
If McCabe is fired (which would require proof of wrong doing), I will reveal my true identity.
If things do not move beyond ‘stepping aside’ with full retirement benefits, you will reveal your true identity.
Not much of a bet since that’s your name.

I’m no pawn, so be gone, speed on and on
Kill the king
Treason, treason, the specter looms again
Treason, reason, the realm is safe and then
Oh no, move away from harm

Kill the king
Tear him down
Kill the king, yeah
Got to take his crown

Strike him dead

Kill the king, yeah
Take his head
Down, down, down, down

HW’s authority on the McCabe terminal leave rests on the tweets of the most habitual liar in American politics. It’s impossible to fire a civil servant without cause. In fact, it appears McCabe had enough leave accrued to leave hist post early with full benefits. Of course the White House, desperate to make the FISA memo seem like more than the cherry picked BS it is, spun the situation to their advantage.
Safe bet.
Not interested in playing with HW on his terms though. No one gives a shit what his name is. It would be funny to rename him ‘I <3 Hillary' though.
It would be my honor to hold the money until March when this intellectual duel can be settled. And once all the information, memo etc. are disclosed determine who indeed is – right!
I always cringe HW when you get called juvenile in this forum, this once I most agree. Choose a screen name? Really?
Since the consensus seems to be that we’ll all be getting about a thousand dollar bonus because of the Trump tax cuts I propose a thousand dollars! After all it’s just funny money. Still that almost three years worth of biscuits and sausage for breakfast at Burger King. Nothing to sneeze at. ( although I must say I preferred the Bush tax cuts when they just sent a check)
I will need each of you to drop off an envelope containing a thousand dollars at the McDonalds on Carpenter addressed to Sad. When you walk in I will need you to carry a red helium balloon with you to the counter and back to your car. Once I see you have left I will retrieve the envelope. Once I have determined a winner I will distribute the winnings.
This Saturday will work for me. The meeting times will be embedded in code in my comments in the coming week. May the most correct person triumph! Good Luck!
How is there not cause? Trump clearly outlined a major conflict of interest in his tweet. Getting big bucks from someone you are investigating? Investigation certainly warranted.
I have a stipulation for wobblie in case he wants to take me up on it: if McCabe quits without getting his full retirement package or it is denied for any reason then I win the bet.
Nope. No money. I need my all my money right now. Don’t see how a friendly wager is juvenile.
HW’s confidence falters when faced with a real challenge and real consequence.
I’m the one willing to bet.
Not real money.
House votes to release FISA memo.
“We’re seeing this coordinated effort to try to impede the investigation,” Warner says. The Nunes memo, which is apparently drawn from information contained in the same late-2017 document dumps that have caused the Senate panel to expand its inquiry, is based on “fabrications” and “connecting dots that don’t connect,”
https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2018/01/29/mark-warner-global-politico-216545
Sounds familiar…
That’s the spin. Pretty sure there is true evidence in the IG investigation to back up the memo.
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/01/how-trump-built-an-obstruction-of-justice-case-against-himself/551588/
So the big news is that Rod Rosenstein, under Trump, extended the Carter Page surveillance? And that is condemning of the FBI, how? https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/28/us/politics/rod-rosenstein-carter-page-secret-memo.html
Are we supposed to believe the integrity of Carter Page has been impugned?
And that Rosenstein, in acting like a non-partisan doing his job despite the will of Herr Trump, is corrupt?
Are we supposed to be surprised that the FBI would surveil a man implicated as a potential Russian agent?
Please HW, tell me what I’m missing?
Do you ‘know’ more, or are you simply relying on the Fox News bluster to make your case re the significance of the FISA memo?
Had it been what you say, I suspect it would have been leaked already. This feels a lot like the release of the DNC emails. The people who felt shocked wanted desperately to feel shocked. No one else saw anything much there.
Why do you think Rosenstein would beg the HIC to not release the memo? The original 90 day FISA warrant was obtained illegally by OBAMA’s DOJ, not Trump’s.
Lol
“No one else saw anything much there.”
Due to the coverup. What kind of investigation has an answer before they start? Clinton blamed Comey when in fact he obstructed justice in her case by not charging her.
Oh look – a monkey! Oo-oo-ah-ah!
Monkey-boy, you said just the other day you doubted the memo would be released so I don’t know why you are laughing. Guess that’s what troll-monkeys do. Well it’s a giant step closer to released now.
Horowitz has over FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY employees. Let that sink in. Report on Clinton email investigation to follow FISA memo.
No, I said I doubted it would be all that significant. I said that they should release the “memo.”
I don’t really care if they do or don’t release the memo.
I think that the Mr. Warlord is tatersalad who also made all kinds of grand predictions for some odd reason.
In 30 years a lot more than 450 employees found nothing on Hillary but the email snafu. (Trump WH upper level staff are also using personal emails for official business btw) Not all of 450 staff are working to nail Hillary via FBI & DOJ investigation are they? That would be a bit partisan…
“Oh look – a monkey! Oo-oo-ah-ah!”
Sad, do you still hold that calling HW juvenile is bad form?
Re Rosenstein– Read the NYT article I posted.
Whatever you said you are going to be dining on it. Fire up the old printer, troll-boy.
You lie, Jean. Comey himself found a crapload on Hillary and said so. It’s obstruction of justice to not go to criminal charges based on his findings. “Intent” has nothing to do with it. Did she break the law with her extremely careless behavior? Yes. Does she have to be prosecuted for breaking it? Obviously yes.
“Re Rosenstein– Read the NYT article I posted.”
I don’t give money to the NYT. Quote the parts you like.
Don’t see how she didn’t intend to break any laws anyway. I don’t find it plausible she had no idea it was against the law to have communications including classified data outside of official channels.

Sara Carter reports her sources say Director Wray was shocked by what he saw yesterday and McCabe was told not to return to work. He may be fired in the next few days. Sara Carter is one of two reporters who broke the FISA abuse story some ten months ago.
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/09/the-brazenness-of-jared-and-ivankas-personal-email-server/541017/
6 Trump staffers at least using private email servers. If you find that line of argument compelling and it is similar to what we can expect from the FISA memos, I’m ready to move on already.
HW– Sara Carter is a hack propagandist. Pay up for the NYT.
“I don’t give money to the NYT. Quote the parts you like.”
Do you have money? (sorry, couldn’t resist)
God forbid businesses would ask that people pay for their services. The Mr. Warlord doesn’t like the guy who owns Super Liquor VII so he just walks in, takes what he wants and leaves without paying.
That’s the free market. I would never think of paying for the NYT. It doesn’t bother me that they charge. I just don’t find that a wise use of my money.
Jean, haven’t you figured out you get it wrong every time? Sara Carter is one of the best journalists in my book. She tells the truth. How could she be a hack when she was on this major story way back then before anyone was? Your narrative is crumbling. It did a long time ago like I said but it’s about to be undeniable.
Intent is a very important concept in American law. I’m surprised that the Mr. Warlord with his grand legal expertise is not aware of that.
“That’s the free market. I would never think of paying for the NYT. It doesn’t bother me that they charge. I just don’t find that a wise use of my money.”
Ah, yes, Alex Jones is free. All you have to do is buy the snake oil.
Again, does the Mr. Warlord even have money? I wasn’t aware he had a job.
“Intent is a very important concept in American law. I’m surprised that the Mr. Warlord with his grand legal expertise is not aware of that.”
Jeezus Christ you are annoying. So you can just claim you had no intention of ripping off $1,000 of Big Macs as manager of the store? “I don’t know what happened! They just got in my belly. I didn’t mean to.”
What if I didn’t have a job or money?
“Ah, yes, Alex Jones is free. All you have to do is buy the snake oil.”
No you don’t! Why do you say such idiotic things? Is it just to get a reaction? You are still the class clown like forty years later but you haven’t even gotten good at it after all this time.
The cost of listening to AJ is having to listen to incessant ads just like tv. If you don’t want to don’t do it. I don’t listen that often so I don’t have to worry about it.
I didn’t mean to smash the phones with hammers and bleach bit the emails!
It just happened – there was no intent there…
“I don’t listen that often so I don’t have to worry about it.”
lol
He doesn’t read the NYT because it costs money and doesn’t listen to Alex Jones “that often” because he’d have to watch ads. The latter certainly takes a lot of effort.
So how is a business to survive?
Poor guy. It must be rough.
“What if I didn’t have a job or money?”
Yep, he’s got no job and no money. Just the power of the interweb and 24 hours a day to fight his mighty war against…. something.
lol
“So you can just claim you had no intention of ripping off $1,000 of Big Macs as manager of the store? “I don’t know what happened! They just got in my belly. I didn’t mean to.””
Yes, it’s called an insanity plea. At least that’s one option. It is possible that he was not of sound mind and incapable of making a rational judgement at the time.
Dave – Does this bear any resemblance to a Socratic dialogue?
HW – Remember baiting . They want to make you upset. Deep breaths.
HW is more easily provoked than usual tonight. Just watched Battle of the Sexes. Not good at all, but Mr Warlords promises of victory do smack of Bobby Riggs before the fall. Unfortunately I suspect, as with every unrealized Clinton conspiracy so far, the True haters never concede defeat. They just blame the deep state and move on to the next conspiracy.
I make my own work so technically I don’t have a job. Didn’t you say you are unemployed yourself? And am I out of my mind or did you say you work at fast food joints? With a PhD?! Haha, wtf!
Sara Carter broke what major story? The uranium deal, the FISA memo? What stories has she broken that were proven accurate? There must be a few. Or is it all ‘anonymous sources say…’ Surely one can’t make a journalism career producing propaganda diversions for FOX news?
“Yes, it’s called an insanity plea. At least that’s one option. It is possible that he was not of sound mind and incapable of making a rational judgement at the time.”
So Hillary would have to be insane for Comey’s recommendation to be legitimate then, right?
Sad— when Plato declared man ‘an animal, bi-peded and featherless,’ Diogenes responded by holding up a plucked chicken and saying ‘Here is Plato’s man!’ I think that’s pretty close to what is going on here. Nothing Diogenes hated more than self-gratifying over wrought philosophies that defied common sense and basic reason.
Sara Carter is a reporter from thehill.com. She broke the now major FISA abuse story like I said so why ask inane questions? Just for the sake of it? It’s like “Oh, let me be as repetitive and pointless as possible because irrationality seems to really bother him! That’ll get him to quit.” Why would I stop now when it is going my way?
HW you are absurd. So is IL but with intent. There’s crazy, and there’s crazy like a fox. You’re no fox.
I don’t expect in any way that my engaging you will make you quit. I’m quite sure it keeps you here. I just decided to enjoy your presence, having no other option.
So you think her info is false? Wray had no problem with McCabe staying after seeing the memo yesterday? McCabe just up and decided today was the day and it had nothing to do with that! Amazing the contortions you undergo to stick with your narrative.
Never noticed this world is crazy as shit? Huh! Maybe that’s why you don’t know what the hell is going on …ooh, nice breakbeat…

This is just kind of weird but…part of my job is projecting the exchange rate between the US and Canada. For years, my boss has always thrown into the discussion that the Dutch are “out to get Putin” because of the flight MH17 incident, which impacts the price of oil and impacts the exchange rate. She was certain that they would (and will) never stop until they bring him down (and that you should never mess with the Dutch). I must say that she and I were just beside ourselves when this story hit on Friday. She totally called it. And…a good year before it happened, she said, “Maybe Amazon will buy Whole Foods.” I shit you not.

So if our government knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Russia was interfering with the election, what did Obama do? Did he tell us? Did he stop it? Why was Obama not impeached for his administration’s dereliction of duty? How is a candidate held responsible and not the one holding office?
EOS– Obama did not want to be seen as throwing the election for Hillary. He confronted Putin about it directly. This is on the record. Presidents know lots of intel that they don’t share with the public. McCain decided to open this thing up. It’s not treason to know about the interference with US elections and not tell the public as President. It is treason to participate in Russian interference with US elections. (duh)
EOS, You will have to ask the Republican controlled Congress why they did not impeach Obama. I suspect he was good for GOP fund raising. Since he supported most the GOP agenda they had few policy differences. After the debacle of impeaching Clinton I suspect the GOP wants no part of those apples.
re IL’s Josh White lyric post: http://www.newsweek.com/coal-miners-safety-health-trump-788576
Now we have to wait for Trump to release the memo? Good Gawd!
Today’s talking points: “Firing Rod Rosenstein is a Red Line the President must not cross. It is too close to destroying the Mueller investigation.”
Leon, does your boss have any good stock tips for me?
White House palace intrigue is becoming an unhealthy obsession- especially here!
A question to the few pro-Trump people here – Why did Trump not impose the sanctions against Russia that were nearly unanimously approved by Congress?
Were they intelligent?
The sanctions? The 517 Congressmen that voted in favor of it seemed to think so.
Seems a reasonable way to handle it.
https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/29/politics/trump-russia-sanctions/index.html
The US has released a sweeping list of prominent Russian business and political figures, in defiance of Moscow and implementing a Congressional law designed to punish Russia for election meddling.
“The US Treasury report, published shortly before a midnight deadline, listed every senior member of the political administration at the Kremlin, and every Russian oligarch with a net worth of $1 billion or more.
Some of those named are already subject to US sanctions. But the administration stopped short of imposing any new punishments, saying the legislation was already doing its job. The report was “not a sanctions list,” it said.
Instead, the Treasury report resembled an exercise in naming and shaming — putting individuals on notice that they may be subject to sanctions in the future.”
“The sanctions? The 517 Congressmen that voted in favor of it seemed to think so.”
That’s not saying much in my book.
HW is in favor of a police state and is waiting for the day when his Democrat political opponents are rounded up. So Trump ignoring the law is fine by him.

“HW is in favor of a police state and is waiting for the day when his Democrat political opponents are rounded up.”
The Mr. Warlord would like how African dictatorships are run. Given everything he says here, that’s the kind of system he’d like to live under. I don’t think he even realizes it.
Trump is a cookie cutter African dictator. It’s ironic that he calls those places shitholes when everything he does seems modeled after their leaders.
“HW is in favor of a police state and is waiting for the day when his Democrat political opponents are rounded up. So Trump ignoring the law is fine by him.”
Reality is about to crush that fantasy. Major criminality is finally being revealed. It’s going to get much, much worse. When you find out the extent of it it will change your world to be more in line with what is actually occurring.
“When you find out the extent of it it will change your world to be more in line with what is actually occurring.”
Umm… no, it won’t.
Trump has named African dictators in the EO on Human Rights and Corruption as well as billionaires who buy them. The Clinton’s are “close” with a man on the list who owns rare earth mines in the the Congo who has treated miners like slaves for example. You are another one who tells the exact opposite of the truth.
“Umm… no, it won’t.”
You ought to be noticing by now things seem to go the way I said they would. Dig your heels in all you want. You can’t stop it.
Your view HW is distorted as always. For balance: “Trump-branded buildings in Toronto and the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan were developed in association with people who have connections to the Kremlin. Other real-estate partners of the Trump Organization—in Brazil, India, Indonesia, and elsewhere—are now caught up in corruption probes, and, collectively, they suggest that the company had a pattern of working with partners who exploited their proximity to political power.”

That’s from six months ago. Doesn’t seem to have gone anywhere, does it? Clinton’s got mega bucks from helping Russian interests that are antithetical to the USA though.
It’s on.

@RepAdamSchiff
“Committee Republicans JUST voted to declassify their spin “memo” and prohibit release of the Democratic response in what they claimed was “the interests of full transparency.” It was transparent alright – transparently cynical and destructive.”
“The same President who excoriated Clinton after FBI found her handling of classified info extremely careless, now urges release of classified info that DOJ has called “extraordinarily reckless.” He’s consistent — consistently self-serving.”
“It comes as no surprise that @POTUS would place his own interests ahead of the country. But it is tragic that so many Republican Members of Congress would choose to help him do so.”
We have seen the GOP repeat fraudulent spin talking points relentlessly before to undermine democracy or a particular candidate. We have seen them mount absurd and useless (and in the case of HRC, sexism tinged) investigations to impugn the integrity of a Democratic candidate or office holder. All of this is familiar strategy for them since Newt’s ‘revolution’ in the 90’s. I don’t believe we have ever seen them collectively (and following the President’s lead) obstruct justice before by spreading innuendo and trumping up charges that undermine the public trust in those tasked with maintaining integrity and lawfulness in our society.
I see this as part of the totalitarian creep that accompanies undermining faith in and the competency of the free press, the judiciary, enforcement agencies, diplomacy, etc etc. Trump is a volatile, strongman and the GOP in congress are shoring up his power.
Their legacies will be soiled forever.
HW is under the impression that justice is automatic and inevitable.
“Your view HW is distorted as always.”
Didn’t you say yesterday McCabe taking leave had nothing to do with the memo? CBS already confirmed what I said: Wray kicked him out the door. You claim to be capable of admitting when you are wrong but you never ever do.
The Mr. Warlord is completely kidding himself if he doesn’t believe that Trump is indistinguishable from any number of African dictators.
The Mr. Warlord considers his knowledge to be vast and his intellect to be unparalleled, yet is completely ignorant of the political history of the African continent. Very strange.
He should do some serious reading of actual books on the subject and then revisit the issue of Donald Trump.
The Mr. Warlord considers knowledge and understanding to be a simple game of winners and losers.
Very strange.
Schiff is the one lying. It looked like he was literally soiling his pants talking about the vote to release the memo. You could almost smell it just by watching on the computer.
No I didn’t say it had nothing to do with the memo. I said he chose to leave and was not fired. I said he was being harassed and had enough accumulated paid leave to leave office early. Where I was wrong was that I thought maybe he had planned to do so earlier. Apparently he had intended to stay through March but the atmosphere had become too toxic. Have you ever been harassed at work and prevented from being effective in work you value? If so, you might understand leaving early.
He was not fired. No wrong-doing has been established. Unless something changed, it’s YOU who were wrong about McCabe.
The Mr. Warlord, of course, has no need of books, when he has Alex Jones and the Daily Caller at his disposal.
A shining beacon of knowledge in Ypsilanti, MI.
“Have you ever been harassed at work and prevented from being effective in work you value?”
Has the Mr. Warlord ever had a job?
Games have winners and losers, don’t they? As do debates. Debate is a game of sorts that I like to play. You want to play the game of tearing down the truth to protect your illusions then someone might join and beat you. It’s fun to win.
“The Mr. Warlord, of course, has no need of books, when he has Alex Jones and the Daily Caller at his disposal.
A shining beacon of knowledge in Ypsilanti, MI.”
I use mainstream sources like 90% of the time.
“it’s YOU who were wrong about McCabe.”
In the Mr. Warlord’s mind, he can never be wrong. His knowledge in infallible.
“I use mainstream sources like 90% of the time.”
Yes, maybe “Teen Vogue” might be considered a “mainstream source.”
You said him leaving yesterday was expected which it was not, Jean.
“I am like really smart”
– Hyborian Warlord
Personally, I’m really glad HW doesn’t have a job. He would be horrible to work with. I feel sorry for anyone dealing with him daily. It’s not surprising that he identifies with Trump and he shares many of the same pathologies.
This is not about disliking Trump supporters. I know and like quite a few. I love a few. I just dislike people like Trump and HW. I’m sure the feeling is mutual which is fine with me. Listening to Sad kiss HW’s ass to try to soothe him makes me quite ill. It’s a super fucked up kind of virtue signaling.
“Yes, maybe “Teen Vogue” might be considered a “mainstream source.”
Do you think meaningless statements do anything. If anyone is strange it is you. Everyone can see it now. Isn’t it embarrassing?
I said McCabe leaving his post was expected… And it was well known he was retiring in March.
I acknowledged my inaccuracy, which was speculative…
When have you ever done that?
“Do you think meaningless statements do anything. If anyone is strange it is you. Everyone can see it now. Isn’t it embarrassing?”
I never claimed not to be strange. In fact, it is a point of pride.
“Schiff is the one lying. It looked like he was literally soiling his pants talking about the vote to release the memo. You could almost smell it just by watching on the computer.” = EVIDENCE BASED REASONING

All you got is a personal gripe with someone you don’t know and who has treated you with more respect than you have of him. You are always talking about me personally which I hardly ever do. That’s your theme, your main thing.
“EVIDENCE BASED REASONING”
Try it sometime.
“All you got is a personal gripe with someone you don’t know and who has treated you with more respect than you have of him.”
From the guy who calls women “dumb bitches.”
“I never claimed not to be strange. In fact, it is a point of pride.”
So when you call me strange it’s a compliment.
The Mr. Warlord is the least misogynistic person you will ever meet.
Teen Vogue is pretty great lately, though largely for its feminist editorial. It’s not doing straight reporting but commentary on politics and culture for young women. Well worth checking out. For years, fashion magazines ignored the intelligence and agency of its readers. What’s happening at Teen Vogue is remarkable.
“So when you call me strange it’s a compliment.”
I did not “call you strange.” I called certain aspects of your thinking strange. There is a difference.
Given your vast intellect, I would assume you would know the difference.
Yes, my statement was not fair to Teen Vogue, the writers for which, unlike the Mr. Warlord, probably do not talk like 14 year old children.
From the guy who calls women “dumb bitches.”
Why shouldn’t Jean or anyone who behaves as badly as her be called that? People who blatantly lie through their teeth to your face. It’s dumb and bitchy. So what? You do it so I guess you can be one too.
I find you as a person more interesting than your political perspective, HW. I’m sure most people do. I don’t feel any need to treat you with respect. This is unusual for me. You have shown classic abusive tendencies. I don’t play nice with abusers. If that makes me seem like an asshole to those who would placate the real assholes, I’m ok with that.
“Why shouldn’t Jean or anyone who behaves as badly as her be called that? ”
– Hyborian Misogynist
I can call myself a ‘bitch’ or ‘dumb’ and have. You, HW, should not have. I feel truly sorry for any women in your life. I actually worry about them sometimes.
Notice I said anyone, male or female. “Dumb dog” doesn’t really have the same ring to it.
Isn’t it misandrist to say “prick” or “dickhead” or “kick ’em in the nuts to remove any power derived from maleness?”
Hillary Clinton called you one too. How do yo figure you can harrass someone with the nastiest comments until they say one “offensive” term and then howl like it’s a crime? It’s incredible.
“I find you as a person more interesting than your political perspective, HW. I’m sure most people do. I don’t feel any need to treat you with respect. This is unusual for me. You have shown classic abusive tendencies. I don’t play nice with abusers. If that makes me seem like an asshole to those who would placate the real assholes, I’m ok with that.”
My posts are nice compared to yours so you must be a super-abuser. You pile it on as much as possible to try to get me to react. I’m sure it’s a tactic to try to get me banned. If anyone ought to be banned for abusive behavior it is you. There is a record of everything each of us ever said and it backs up what I say.
“Hillary Clinton called you one too.”
Has Jean ever met Mrs. Clinton?
The Mr. Warlord believes that since Snoop Dogg uses perjorative terms for African Americans, then he can use it with all abandon, as well.
I feel certain I did not start the nastiness, HW.
I’m also confident you believe I did. You tend to feel easily insulted, whereas, I’m not much bothered by what you say about me. I’d have to respect you to care what you think. I noted your use of ‘dumb bitch’ and other petulant vulgarities, because they indicate your weaknesses.
I wish I could find one redeeming quality in your commentary here. I tend to look for those, or at least some point of agreement, with people of other political perspectives.
PS when’s the last time you called a man a bitch?
“You pile it on as much as possible to try to get me to react. I’m sure it’s a tactic to try to get me banned.”
Meanwhile Trump abandons are fellow citizens in Puerto Rico. But following the circus in Washington is so much more fun than holding the Government accountable for governing.
https://www.salon.com/2018/01/30/fema-declares-mission-accomplished-in-puerto-rico-announces-departure/
“I feel certain I did not start the nastiness, HW.
I’m also confident you believe I did. ”
Oh, no. Go back to when I started posting. I was absolutely pacifistic towards everyone and you were awful. You thought you could abuse me because I didn’t fight back. Well at some point I took off the kid gloves. Self defense all the way.
But if your a Texan don’t worry we are reopening FEMA offices for you
https://www.fema.gov/states/texas
I’m taking the Hillary comment as some version of a ‘your mother…’ joke– like ‘Hillary hates you too.’ I admire Hillary for being a tough bitch. If she ever felt likewise, I would be honored.
I have never met her. I have passed up the opportunity to hear her speak in public several times over the past 20 years. I thought she’d be a good president, but I don’t find her a compelling speaker. And I think we have all had enough of Hillary by now.
All but HW.
“PS when’s the last time you called a man a bitch?”
In person? Probably a couple years ago when I ran into that guy that ripped me off. Last time I called a woman one face to face? I can’t remember. I don’t usually do that.
Given that the Mr. Warlord composes his posts in the voice of a 14 year old child, it is likely that he uses the term “bitch” to refer also to men, somehow feminizing them, implying that being effeminate is a negative.
“Hyborian Misogynist,” indeed
I do try to provoke HW to reveal himself. I can cop to that. I mean what I say however. I’m not saying nastiness for the sake of it. I used to want HW to go away, but I was never trying to make that happen. That’s not up to me. I’ve made my peace with his presence here as an amusing diversion and a peek into the pathology of those who buy GOP/FOX talking points without critique. I also find those who would apologize for him fascinating.
I should probably ignore him like most people here. Maybe someday I will.
You are the child. Ever read your own posts? Usually they don’t even make sense which I child should be able to do.
” Last time I called a woman one face to face? I can’t remember. I don’t usually do that.” — I’m truly relieved HW.
It’s all coming down and all this nonsense is going to be proven to be what it is. How am I buying something without critique? What I have said in the past is proving to be correct more and more each day.
HW– People often compliment me on my posts here IRL. There are many who don’t engage but read. (this always surprises me for some reason) One benefit of using my real name is I’m not dependent on people like you to gauge the worthiness of what I write.
Jean online and Jean in real life are two different people, but I find that her online persona serves an important purpose.
That’s great. Compliments from the brainwashed.
PS My 12 year old son often reads these threads. He does not feel I’m being unfair to you or unreasonable. He would be happy to tell me if I was. He’s a lot more discerning than you or I about such things, which makes me think maybe IL was being unfair to 14 year old boys in comparing you to them.
Teen Vogue and 14 year old boys are not low enough a bar.
I’m sure your son is very unbiased. Don’t know what the chatter about Teen Vogue is. That’s some magazine you people read? Nonsense.
“Compliments from the brainwashed.”
Again, the Mr. Warlord believes himself to exclusively represent “truth.”
Very strange.
How is it exclusive? Not everyone is completely brainwashed.
“That’s some magazine you people read? Nonsense.”
Teen Vogue is likely more informative than Alex Jones, the Dailly Caller and Breitbart.
Maybe to someone like you.
“Not everyone is completely brainwashed.”
The Mr. Warlord alone can decide who is or is not “brainwashed.”
I suppose, though, that he isn’t alone. After all, misogynistic internet groups refer to the pills from the Matrix in such a way.
We can assume that the Mr. Warlord feels sympathy for “men’s rights” groups, given his postings here.
Interesting.
“Maybe to someone like you.”
Ah, yes, not having “swallowed the pill” so to speak.
just the first example that popped up:
https://www.teenvogue.com/story/legislation-to-watch-2018
Just a heads up to our Ohioan neighbors, and any others who want to support Progressives
In just 100 days, on Tuesday, May 8th, Ohioans will make a choice.
Will they vote? Will they seize the opportunity to create a better Ohio?
Just 3 in 10 registered voters showed up at Ohio polls in November 2017. Just over 2 million of nearly 8 million Ohio – and there are another 2 million eligible folks who aren’t registered! When we vote, we empower not only those we elect, we empower ourselves. That’s what the Kucinich – Samples campaign is all about – #PowerToWeThePeople!
Today is a new day. We can stand by and watch our country crumble before our eyes, or we can stand up and fight for the future our communities deserve.
Donate now to support our organizing across the state. If we can increase turnout and build awareness about our vision for all people of the state of Ohio, WE WILL WIN!
We know that voter suppression is real. Purging lawfully registered voters’ names from the polling books is real. Cutbacks and closings of polling places in poorer communities is real. So are unreasonable demands for new and unnecessary forms of ID to discourage voters. Our campaign will build awareness about voting rights – YOUR voting rights – about online registration, about the April 9th deadline to register, about absentee voting and early in-person voting.
On May 8, we have an opportunity to create a sea change not only in Ohio, but nationwide. When we win this primary, it will send a message loud and clear that people in Ohio and across the nation are ready for progressive platforms that both protect workers and create jobs. As Ohio goes, so goes the nation. We can change a lot in 100 days – join the movement!
It is a time to build, not to tear down. Will you build with us?
In solidarity,
Tara Samples

People who try to hammer the opposite of the truth have to be brainwashed. The only other option is being a knowing propaganda agent and I don’t think that’s what it is. This is what happens when someone is confronted with an undeniable reality that shatters their worldview. They get vicious and attack. It’s getting less deniable every day now. I am right. Collusion is bull and the ones pushing it are corrupt to the max.
“Ah, yes, not having “swallowed the pill” so to speak.”
Oh, you took the pill but it’s the one in brainwashy blue.
“Oh, you took the pill but it’s the one in brainwashy blue.”
It is interesting that you say that I am “brainwashed” yet do not at all know my opinions on the topics you so passionately post about.

The Mr. Warlord is vastly overconfident. A sign of an inadequate education.
I know your comments are light on knowledge and ideas but what you do say tells the story.
yeah. I admit that I feel pretty sorry for any women in HWs life too. Is he actually defending himself calling a woman a “dumb bitch’? Sheesh!
Who does that?
Again you have it backwards. You are overconfident to the maximum. If a layman schools a PhD on ignorant scientific comments then which one has the problem?
Fear not, the Mr. Warlord is alone in his room, enjoying Alex Jones and “men’s rights” forums.

Look at yourself. You go around with a man-hating attitude as your guiding philosophy and you have no problem saying so.
“Again you have it backwards. You are overconfident to the maximum. If a layman schools a PhD on ignorant scientific comments then which one has the problem?”
The Mr. Warlord truly believes that he is talking science when he posts here.
“Fear not, the Mr. Warlord is alone in his room, enjoying Alex Jones and “men’s rights” forums.”
Actually I’m not. You don’t think men should have rights though? How are you going to be anti-sexist but you are sexist towards men?
“You don’t think men should have rights though? How are you going to be anti-sexist but you are sexist towards men?”
Yes. He is a “men’s rightist.”
I am sure that he also believes in “white rights.”
“I know nothing, except the fact of my ignorance.” — Diogenes, a wise man.
I rarely talk about politics in real life. I find it unpalatable. Most people seek affirmation of their views rather than actual discourse. I enjoy online discourse with people who are interested in working out their thinking– people prepared to be wrong, and so to learn. This is not really discourse with HW. I think it draws on something else for me. Probably anger, which is unfortunate. Some kinds of perspectives make me more angry post Trump than they used to. Anger is a feeling that requires outlet. Social media is often the new mosh pit. I take it just about as seriously. Real life offers so much more to talk about and do.
So not only does the Mr. Warlord not have a problem with pedophilia and child rape when it suits his political aims, he is also a misogynist and, we can assume, a white supremacist.
What a piece of work.
The Hyborian Warlord, defender of adult white men.
Are you still miserably depressed, Iron Lung? You sounded like you could hardly carry on in your blog. I feel sorry for you in a way.

fighting words
Watching IL provoke HW to reveal his anger at feminists and his support for men’s rights demonstrates precisely the value of engaging with people like HW in this way.
…from a lying, depressed, hateful fuckin’ loser. If I revealed my name I wonder if I could sue for libel for things like this though.
Anger at feminists? How do you figure? Everyone has rights. You people are going off the deep end. It’s so twisted.
Am I the only one who, over the years, has wondered if IL is getting paid to engage and deter posters Mark does not like?
“I’m sure your son is very unbiased.” — HW imagines children are not critical of their parents. So now we know that he does not have children, which is good.
The Mr. Warlord, upon seeing the truth of his nature revealed, simply resorts to threatening to “out” people online, indicating a deeper level of his already questionable character.
When one posts “pro Trump” comments on a liberal blog, one should expect blowback. At the very least, one should expect that people won’t like you.
FF– Mark, as moderator, can block any person he wants to at any time.
“…from a lying, depressed, hateful fuckin’ loser.”
lol
You don’t have to fuckin’ like me. Just don’t act like a piece of crap to me.
HW– What gave you the impression Lynne hates men?
The Mr. Warlord hates women and fetishizes powerful men.
Yet, sees mental illness as a negative.
Indicating that he also hates the sick and handicapped.
Interesting.
Trolling a troll is high calling and necessary work in these times.
“You don’t have to fuckin’ like me. Just don’t act like a piece of crap to me.”
lol
“HW imagines children are not critical of their parents. So now we know that he does not have children, which is good.”
That’s how you try to determine facts in the world? No wonder everything you think you know is wrong.
I can only go by what you post here. Outside of that, I know nothing about you.
As they say, if you are unwilling to bear high temperatures, best leave the area of cooking.
Frosted, you actually think Mark has money? I suspect it has all been sunk into real estate.
And since it is Ypsi property he will likely never get his money back.
HW– What gave you the impression Lynne hates men?
HW– What gave you the impression Lynne hates men?
It’s you that is getting burned. I’m doing great. I love seeing all the truth coming to light every day. It feels so GOOD!!!
I really hope HW does not have children.
I quoted Lynne’s statement on kicking men in the nuts to take away any power derived from maleness already.
Notice all this shit gets the topic nowhere. You talk about me personally to try to stop me talking about it. Too bad. I’m going to keep telling the truth and current events will keep confirming what I say.
Direct question for IL: Has Mark ever given you payment for anything you have done involving this site?
“I’m going to keep telling the truth and current events will keep confirming what I say.”
Then be prepared to have people criticize you, given that you post your flawed views in a forum where people are unlikely to be sympathetic.
By all means, though, please keep posting, I find it all entertaining.
“Direct question for IL: Has Mark ever given you payment for anything you have done involving this site?”
I have never met Mr. Maynard, so no, he has not.
” You talk about me personally to try to stop me talking about it.”
On the contrary, I find it all entertaining.
Are you lying, IL?
No. Why would I?
“I have never met Mr. Maynard, so no, he has not.”
That’s an illogical statement. You don’t have to meet someone to get paid by them. It’s also a big fat lie. Why would you lie about that I wonder?
Well, it is certainly true that one need not meet someone to accept payment for services, but no, it is not the case that Mr. Maynard is paying me.
If he is paying others, then yes, I would like to “get in on that action” as they say.
What do you think about IL’s recent statements JH?
“but no, it is not the case that Mr. Maynard is paying me.”
Why are you lying about never meeting him?
I have never met Mr. Maynard.
Bull fuckin’ shit.
Believe what you like.
Given the wild content of your postings, clearly, you already do.
And then of course Michigan has a primary coming up
the Washtenaw County Democratic Party, and special guests Bill Cobbs, Abdul El-Sayed, Shri Thanedar, and Gretchen Whitmer, democratic candidates for governor of Michigan, at a Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Forum. Those in attendance will have the chance to hear from, and propose questions for each of the candidates.
We hope you will join us on February 3rd for this great event!
The event will be at the Washtenaw County Learning Center 4135 Washtenaw Ave.
“What do you think about IL’s recent statements JH?” — not much.
Back when, I had a friend named Marty Friedman who was a bit notorious around town as a red haired skateboarding hacker genius with a father who worked for the University of Chicago. There was a rumor that he was Milton Friedman’s son. He answered half the people with ‘yes’ and half with ‘no.’
Sometimes stupid questions get a person fucked with.
It’s not a belief. It’s a counter to a “bulbous” lie.
Wobblie attend Dem Party functions while I do not.
But I’m the party apologist.
The presence of people with the political perspective of Mr Wobblie is why I do not attend Dem Party functions.
“And then of course Michigan has a primary coming up”
Thank you, wobblie, for posting something of relevance. No doubt, as the people presenting don’t appear as characters in the Trump White House reality show, people like the Mr. Warlord will disregard it.
HW has a hard time not revealing his fan boy disappointment.
I have never met Mr. Maynard. Perhaps one day, I will get the pleasure of meeting him.
Historically, he has performed an important function in the region. Of late, he simply writes on the Trump Reality White House.
If it doesn’t make sense it is probably a lie and you make no sense.
Stupid question, why?
“I have never met Mr. Maynard. Perhaps one day, I will get the pleasure of meeting him.”
What a skinky lie.
Generally speaking, I prefer to explain neither jokes nor stupid questions.
Doesn’t make sense. I know for a fact they know each other.
If IL was a member of one of the demographics that HW derides, HW would be going lower than skinky liar. Cue the mental illness derision in 1,2,3…
How do you know that HW?
How do I deride certain demographics?
“How do you know that HW?”
Because I pay attention. I don’t know why he thinks he is fooling anyone as to his identity. It’s all over the site itself for anyone who cares to look.
Note that I do not attack the Mr. Warlord without reason.
I find his neo-fascist and anti-intellectual worldview completely worthy of contempt. It is rare that I encounter someone of his ideological ilk.
The exchange and his reactions to simple prodding remind me why the weak and insecure gravitate toward those types of views.
So I have to thank the Mr. Warlord, and encourage him to continue posting.
“Sometimes stupid questions get a person fucked with.”
By “fucked with” do you mean “lied to” like Marty was lying to half of the people who asked if he was related to Milton?
Bullllshit. It’s so weird to try to push the opposite of the truth every day. Karma is coming and it is pissed.
“Cue the mental illness derision in 1,2,3…”
That is filthy RICH coming from you. Why don’t you answer? What groups do I deride? How in the world do you figure?
“Historically, he has performed an important function in the region. Of late, he simply writes on the Trump Reality White House.”
You must have missed the post about the 7′ tall child who was barhopping in downtown Ypsi.
“Bullllshit. It’s so weird to try to push the opposite of the truth every day. Karma is coming and it is pissed.”
lol
You have to give Trump credit for being able to mobilize otherwise ineffectual people like the Mr. Warlord to give him the highest office in the land.
FF– Please note that rather than examine why your question was stupid, you chose to criticize my friend.
These are the kind of behaviors that will get one fucked with.
JH, MM, and IL are the local chapter officers of the secret society that I am the president of. We never meet as a group, but communicate in code using this comments section for security reasons. We already know with certaintude who HW is likely to be and am awaiting for appropriate circumstances for further action.
Site Admin–I enjoyed the 7′ child piece. I believe you still perform an important function in the community. I believe this article was a useful summary with bits of which I was unaware. Avoiding your own comments section may enable more good work. I suggest you do so. It’s become a suckhole, and Mr. Lung is feeling salty today.
Hey JCP2– We’re over due for a beer. Wanna meet up soon. PM me.
Public figures create fictions around themselves all the time. In fact, everyone embellishes their personas to make themselves more interesting to others.
The Mr. Warlord chooses to name himself after a character in fantasy novels. This Marty Friedman individual chose to tell people that he was related to a famous economist. Rock and roll is filled with embellished stories.
Without a goal of defrauding someone for financial or material gain, what is the harm?
“We already know with certaintude who HW is likely to be”
Haha! We know for SURE who it COULD be…
I like to embellish my persona with a fancy french hat…
sometimes I stick a feather in it and call it macaroni.
It’s just weird to blatantly lie. Weird to compulsively do it every day.
I don’t understand what you are talking about, Jean.
I did not criticize IL. I asked IL a couple of questions. IL’s choice of how he answered those questions was very interesting. I asked you a couple of questions . Your choice of how you answered those questions was very interesting.
To be fair, Marty’s persona was a bit beyond his control. One thing people will do when deemed notorious is mess with the assumptions made about them. When people spread idle rumors about actual people of interest whom they do not know, it seems fair play to set them all upon one another by provoking confusion and disagreement.
If HW were clever, he could have taken this approach months ago. But he is earnest, not clever. He is terribly earnest in his righteousness and his wrongness. sigh.
I was not talking about IL. I have never met IL.
When my ex and I broke up but remained in business together, the rumors were flying (mostly wrong). People would scrutinize our every interaction in an kitchen visible to the public from 4′ up. At one point he was pounding something on the counter as I spoke to him, so we started throwing pretend punches at one another. A little Punch and Judy show for the oglers. Rubberneckers deserve to be pranked.
Oh, you meant Marty is your friend. I was not criticizing Marty. I was just saying he was lying—because he was lying to half of the people who asked him if he was related to Milton. You meant to tell that story to excuse IL from also lying in a similar way? I don’t get it.
“I was just saying he was lying”
Did he have some nefarious intent? Then I’m not sure that “lying” is accurate. I don’t know him, but he probably just though it was fun. I doubt that he was going to go with that story when applying to the University of Chicago.
JH claims to be a democrat but has no interest in meeting those who want to represent her. Interesting.
It was a stupid question, FF. I was honest about that. What followed was mostly nonsense but more like clues. I’m sorry you don’t get it. I truly thought you would eventually.
I have not said that I am related to anyone.
I have never met Mr. Maynard. I fail to see why that would be controversial.
HA!!! Yo’ pants on fire!
I often meet my representatives and those challenging them. I engage them on SM and otherwise. I follow races closely and read up on all candidates. I don’t mind my representatives at all, it’s their followers I cant stand. I don’t like party politics but understand their necessity. I volunteer for individual actions but don’t join in on social events, forums, etc. It’s simply a preference.
HW is in fact 5 years old.
I enjoy meeting representatives.
I never claimed to be a democrat though.
“HW is in fact 5 years old.”
Clearly. I think that equating him to a 14 year old is somewhat insulting to 14 year olds.
One benefit in using one’s real name for one’s compulsive/prolific social media posts is that the reps sometimes call you and ask to meet.
You should try it sometime, Wobblie.
I’m sure a lot of people have good reasons for not using their real names in comments, but it seems to me that it makes their points harder to take seriously. Putting your name behind one’s politics puts some skin in the game, namely one’s reputation.
Since everything both of you say is 180 degrees from the truth I’ll just take it as a compliment. It doesn’t matter what you say. Your world is beginning to crumble. You know it. The more hysterical you get the worse the news is getting for you guaranteed.
I’m truly hysterical.
No doubt
“Since everything both of you say is 180 degrees from the truth I’ll just take it as a compliment. It doesn’t matter what you say. Your world is beginning to crumble. You know it. The more hysterical you get the worse the news is getting for you guaranteed.”
Actually, no, my world is not changing all that much at all.
News and politics, while occasionally irritating, do not usually impact my day to day life. Not to say that news and politics are trivial and don’t have real world implications for peoples’ lives, but I generally carry on as normal.
Reading posts by the Mr. Warlord, is enlightening, but not in the ways he suggests.
Sometimes I think Trump might be diabolical and dangerous. Then a realize he’s just reactive, stupid and dangerous. (I’m not sure which is worse, but stupid people are easy to manipulate.) HW is a reminder just how deluded– but stupid and so vulnerable– the most avid of Trump supporters can be.
Actually it is – you just haven’t noticed for lack of attention. It’s going to be in your face very soon. No denying it then.
Trump is a stupid man who is good at manipulating people as stupid as he is.
“Actually it is – you just haven’t noticed for lack of attention. It’s going to be in your face very soon. No denying it then.”
Actually, no. But to be fair, Trump’s ascendancy has sent me farther left that I have been in years, to counteract the dangerous resurgence of bigotry and stupidity that people like you represent.
Too bad for you people like me have the truth on our side. Soon it won’t be plausible for anyone to deny it. SOTU, memo release, beginning of the public shitstorm surrounding treason in the USA. That’s how it’s going to go. Don’t forget the IG report on the handling of the Clinton email case coming in March. It’s going to get worse than that too. Actually it will be a better world soon but for your old (current) belief system (B.S.) it will be totally destructive.
I’ll take that all with a grain of salt, given how retrograde your worldview is.
But no, there is nothing in the news that has much impact on my “belief system,” at least not in the way that you suggest.
I have been alive too long to let sensational news stories do anything but mildly annoy me in the morning.
I find your suggestions in this previous post to be as fantastically stupid and sophomoric as all of your other posts.
How am I a bigot? That’s moronic. I don’t classify people by “what they are” racially or sexually or anything like that. You are 180 degrees from the truth as always.
I don’t think you need any more salt – you are salty as hell.
I haven’t used that word in a long time, but it truly describes the Mr. Warlord:
Sophomoric – conceited and overconfident of knowledge but poorly informed and immature
It’ll be just like the denouement in Kingsmen, where the ne’er do gooders explode one by one in technicolor mushroom clouds, accompanied by uplifting orchestral strains. In the end, Mr. Warlord stands triumphantly over the rest of Ypsi, snake flag over his shoulder, looking in the distance at Ann Arbor, wondering why nobody is congratulating him as the true American savant.
How is it going like I said like a year ago then? Yeah, I’m so sophomoric – that’s why I am schooling all you people every day.
I’m not the only one, jcp2. Many, many, many people are about to go from blind to seeing clearly about everything I and others have said.
Sophomore derives from sophism which came up in another thread. HW is not so much a sophist (which implies an intent to deceive) but vulnerable to sophism, and so aptly ‘sophomoric.’
Definition of sophism
1 : an argument apparently correct in form but actually invalid; especially : such an argument used to deceive
You make nasty statements about me you can’t substantiate one bit. That’s a fact.
‘Hysterical’ on the other hand is derived from the Greek and Latin words for Uterus. It has a long history of use in misogynistic dismissal of women’s complaints of all kinds. https://www.theguardian.com/media/mind-your-language/2012/mar/08/mind-your-language-feminisation-madness
It has been adopted by contemporary philosophers to describe certain postmodern approaches to reveal buried truths via chaos. It’s a lot more interesting than sophistry, if less politically successful. I’m happy with being branded hysterical.
Jcp2, yes, that is how i also imagine it.
HW– I feel your comments, in of themselves, validate my responses to and about you. Since I don’t know who you are, I have no means of any validation other than your own testimony. I put my name by my words. I stand by them.
O God of Earth and altar
Bow down and hear our cry
Our Earthly rulers falter
Our people drift and die
Take not thy thunder from us
Take away our pride
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m16tKAUzmrM
IL and Jcp2– It will be like the rapture.
Only true Trumpers will remain behind. HW will believe that means he won.
“I have no means of any validation other than your own testimony. ”
Then you should be able to come up with an instance of me denigrating any single “demographic”, let alone multiple ones. Since you can’t do it your statement must be what?
You will be thankful for people like me in the end and I will be kind like I am to everyone who is nice or even neutral to me.

JH you do know the difference between Democrat and democrat ?
“You will be thankful for people like me in the end and I will be kind like I am to everyone who is nice or even neutral to me.”
“In the end” when exactly is that? As long as I’ve been alive, politics hasnt stopped. Regardless, he vastly overstates his importance. People will likely not at all remember the Mr. Warlord, except as that buffoon who posted absurd things on Mr. Maynard’s site.
Further, this sounds like something a domestic abuser might say.
Call it karma or action/reaction or whatever you want – you are going to be on the receiving end of something equally shitty to what you are trying to do.
“Call it karma or action/reaction or whatever you want – you are going to be on the receiving end of something equally shitty to what you are trying to do.”
Exactly, what am I “trying to do?”
Say the most vile lies about me you can think of.
From what you post here, I have concluded that you are a misogynist who excuses pedophiles for the sake of politics and you support a politician who got where he is through manipulating racists and xenophobes.
Say what you want about Trump but don’t lie about me especially when what you are saying fits you. You “excuse pedophiles for the sake of politics”, not me. You are racist against white people but I’m not racist at all. I love women so you are wrong on that too. I don’t know about you though.
Mark– yes, I’m just lazy. I should amend and say I am a committed, proud democrat, but though I’m registered as a Democrat, but it’s a non-committal relationship.
“You are racist against white people but I’m not racist at all.”
Yet you voted for a guy who is a racist, and happily peddled support from white supremacists. This, by itself, makes you worth of question.
Moreover, now that we’ve established that you are, in fact, a “men’s rightist,” we only have to go by extension to assume that you believe that “white rights” should also be protected, placing you firmly in the camp of just the people that Donald Trump appeals to.
When someone says “I’m not racist at all” or “I love women,” the listener has no choice but to be skeptical. Are “some of your best friends black people?”
You may “love women” but have no problem calling them “dumb bitches” which may be “love” to you. If so, I feel badly for any female friends you may have.
It sounds as though you have few friends, however.
“You will be thankful for people like me in the end and I will be kind like I am to everyone who is nice or even neutral to me.”
–sounds so much like Trump himself!
“@realDonaldTrump
Happy New Year to all, including to my many enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don’t know what to do. Love!”
“When someone intentionally harms you or your reputation, how do you react? I strike back, doing the same thing to them only ten times worse.” — DJGT
There are so many!
HW does sound like a domestic abuser, imagining himself to be a benevolent overlord. “It’s for your own good” You’ll thank me.” I’m teaching you a lesson.”
Of course, the weak witted and insecure would vote for a man who is also weak witted and insecure.
Don’t see how Trump is racist. That’s part of your delusion.
If you don’t think men have rights then are you not a misandrist?
I have people from several races and religions IN MY FAMILY.
I don’t speak badly of women as a group at all. I called Jean Henry that one time – so what?
I care about the quality of my friendships. Still have lifelong, loyal friends. Don’t know why you would speculate so much about someone you don’t know except to try to degrade them for their views (which you totally misunderstand.)
It will all come out in the wash. You don’t want to believe it but it is happening.
“HW does sound like a domestic abuser, imagining himself to be a benevolent overlord. “It’s for your own good” You’ll thank me.” I’m teaching you a lesson.””
Yes, that one statement was extremely creepy.
I’m not sure the Mr. Warlord has the mental capability to be self-reflecting. He lives in a world where he is certain to win and his enemies will eventually be vanquished through his incredible intellect and powers.
In reality, he is a 50 year old unemployed man-child, smoking weed and reading conspiracy websites.
“Don’t see how Trump is racist. That’s part of your delusion.

True comedy.
Are all of these piles of crap you post, supposed to be taken, as a reasonable arguments, IL?
It is good to get regular doses of truth though, Jean. You have been about a hundred times more abusive to me. Like I said an independent analysis of our posts would show that factually.

Thank you, Frosted Flakes. It’s good to have someone intelligent corroborate what is obvious to me. Much appreciated.
“True comedy”
wet noodle
sigh. I never should have made that “kick them in the balls” comment as my meaning has been so widely misinterpreted. You see it was a metaphor. Balls in that case being a metaphor for the extra power the patriarchy grants men. What I was actually saying was that I wanted men to lose their privilege. Of course, that is often interpreted as “hating men” by those Men’s Rights Activists because they seem to see their privilege as a right and regularly accuse women who simply are demanding equality of being man-haters.
“Don’t see how Trump is racist. That’s part of your delusion.”
You are either a total fool or a complete idiot. I am unsure of which is is. Perhaps you are simply functionally literate.
“If you don’t think men have rights then are you not a misandrist?”
The entire “men’s rights” platform rests on this thinking. Similar to how racists rarely want to admit they are so, misogynists also live in a bizarro world of cognitive dissonance.
“I have people from several races and religions IN MY FAMILY.”
So what? But, as I predicted, “some of my best friends are black.”
“I don’t speak badly of women as a group at all. I called Jean Henry that one time – so what?”
Again, I question you mental capability. I think the weed makes it difficult for you to properly process information.
“I care about the quality of my friendships. Still have lifelong, loyal friends. Don’t know why you would speculate so much about someone you don’t know except to try to degrade them for their views (which you totally misunderstand.)”
I find your views reprehensible. What do you expect?
“It will all come out in the wash. You don’t want to believe it but it is happening.”
lol
“functionally illiterate.”
“Are all of these piles of crap you post, supposed to be taken, as a reasonable arguments, IL?”
Oh no, not at all. This is just entertainment.
“You have been about a hundred times more abusive to me.”
It must hurt.
Though I was under the impression that the Mr. Warlord was unrivaled in his intellectual powers. It would seem that a few posts on a political blog would not hurt him at all.
But, obviously, it does. A sad, sad man.
You don’t seem capable of understanding my views therefore you try to smear me. Nice way to live.
RE:I don’t speak badly of women as a group at all. I called Jean Henry that one time – so what?
It just means that like most bullies who have some sense of social status, you went for one thing you knew about Jean that puts her at a lower status to you in our patriarchal culture and you chose to remind her of it. Luckily for women, the status of women has been rising quickly and soon there will be equality. The HWs of the world though are in for a rough patch because they are too weak to rely on their own merit. Which is why they like to remind those of lower status what they see as their place. It is classic. Weak men have been getting upset with uppity women since feminism first became a thing because they know that on a fair playing field, they are must less likely to win.
Funny to be called sad by someone who can’t even get out of bed.
I have learned a lot from this exchange. My goading of the Mr. Warlord and his responses have brought me a new level of understanding of the people who voted for Donald Trump, and the source of his appeal, assuming that the Mr. Warlord is representative of his supporters.
This has been extremely educational.
“Funny to be called sad by someone who can’t even get out of bed.”
I wake at 5 am daily.
Why is it okay for a woman to call a man dickhead and prick and things like that but bitch is out of bounds?
“I wake at 5 am daily.”
Glad you are doing better.
“Why is it okay for a woman to call a man dickhead and prick and things like that but bitch is out of bounds?”
It is astounding to me that an adult would have to even ask this question.
““I wake at 5 am daily.”
Glad you are doing better.”
Better than what? I was never sick.
Weren’t you all fucked up in Kenya?
“It is astounding to me that an adult would have to even ask this question.”
How is that not misandry?
I’ll let that one speak for itself.
I was never in Kenya.
I live in Southeast Michigan.
I treat everyone with kindness no matter what their circumstances are. You see someone with beige skin and think “whitey.” That’s racist. Yes it is possible to be racist against your own genetic background. Same as you can be sexist against your own sex. Obviously women can be sexist against men and people like Jean and Lynne prove it.
Oh, you’re not Iron Lung Larson! I see. You are another Iron Lung. Huh! Ha!
No, I am only Iron Lung. As it says
What are you talking about?
“I treat everyone with kindness no matter what their circumstances are. ”
Unless it comes to voting. Then you don’t care.
Only the truth, Peetie.
I like combatting human rights abuse and corruption. Trump is doing that so it was a good choice. It’s all coming out even to the most brainwashed of all.
“I like combatting human rights abuse and corruption.”
Well, you have failed.
wrong
Miserably, I might add.
In what possible way has Donald Trump done anything at all for human rights?
This should be funny.
I’ve talked a lot about it so I don’t know how you could not know. You said I would like African dictatorships in this thread (string of abuse) and I pointed out that certain African dictators are named in Trump’s EO on Corruption and Human Rights. So is an Israeli billionaire who Bill Clinton pardoned who treats miners like slaves in the Congo.
Nothing funny about that.
Well. I have to admit that kind is not a word I associate with HW
You don’t know me. You misunderstand based on a projected image.
We can only go by what you post here.
HW is not representative of most Trump voters in my experience. They buy some of this crap but they are smart enough to keep it to themselves. Like HW, they don’t know they are racist and sexist. The GOP turn around spin has been going on so long now that they believe racial justice activists are the racists and feminists are the sexist. I can handle that reverse racism/sexism tendency, if they can point to one white nationalist as truly racist. Then we can have a conversation. The true believers like HW won’t do that though without suggesting the true racist and Trump supporter is a plant. No concersation is possible.
Re Lynne on Being a ‘stupid bitch’— I come from a long line of well educated, sharp tongued, uppity women. It has served them and others around them well for the most part. Not so great for dudes like HW though. ‘Stupid bitch’ is pretty light stuff for someone from a family of Irish pioneer women. I never would have been able to practice my quick draw in this life were it not for the gift of the Internet. My aim is true.
You know nothing at all about human rights.
It’s interesting that the listing of an obscure billionaire on a wanted list is what you focus on.
Is that what the right wing conspiracy media is presenting as “proof” that this administration cares at all for human rights?
I’m just curious.
“HW is not representative of most Trump voters in my experience. ”
On the contrary, I think he is completely representative of them.
It’s a government document idiot. I linked to it twice already and you can just look it up if you want. African dictators are on the list. Jeezus
Oh, well, this has ceased to be entertaining.
“It’s a government document idiot. I linked to it twice already and you can just look it up if you want. African dictators are on the list. Jeezus”
The preservation of human rights is not about the simple arrest of a few criminals.
He is not representative of them in his certainty.
Most whim I know would never brag and crow on about being right like Mr Warlord. They take accusations of racism seriously, if not sexism or homophobia. Aconcersation is possible. Mr Warlord is not here to have a conversation with people of other political
Perspectives. He’s here to lecture And to ‘win.’ Big difference.
If you don’t understand that, then you can’t claim to know anything at all about human rights.
Cutting off their funds which is what the Executive Order does is an extremely effective move against human rights abusers.
“The preservation of human rights is not about the simple arrest of a few criminals.”
The simple arrest of a few criminals could be a great step towards protecting human rights though. Logic
The USA is in an official State of Emergency right now due to human rights abuse and corruption as declared in the order. Prit-tee sure he is serious about it.
https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/executive-order-blocking-property-persons-involved-serious-human-rights-abuse-corruption/
Whoo! I love it! Very happy to see this when it was signed in December.
“I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, find that the prevalence and severity of human rights abuse and corruption that have their source, in whole or in substantial part, outside the United States, such as those committed or directed by persons listed in the Annex to this order, have reached such scope and gravity that they threaten the stability of international political and economic systems. Human rights abuse and corruption undermine the values that form an essential foundation of stable, secure, and functioning societies; have devastating impacts on individuals; weaken democratic institutions; degrade the rule of law; perpetuate violent conflicts; facilitate the activities of dangerous persons; and undermine economic markets. The United States seeks to impose tangible and significant consequences on those who commit serious human rights abuse or engage in corruption, as well as to protect the financial system of the United States from abuse by these same persons.
I therefore determine that serious human rights abuse and corruption around the world constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States, and I hereby declare a national emergency to deal with that threat.”
Um..no.
Do some reading.
There is honor in admitting that one knows very little about a subject and taking substantive measure to fill in knowledge gaps.
Updated individuals and entities list

Changing your tune now. You said my answer should be good and it is.
Looks like you have some reading to do yourself, huh? Continuing education?
Umm..no. again no.
You know nothing at all about human rights.
Trumps admin has already shown itself to not only have contempt for human rights but through a tion has already undermined human rights progress around the world.
The simple arrest of some “bad guys” means nothing to preserving simple human rights around the world.
There will always be bad guys, but human rights come from institutional and legal protections for individuals which requires commitment from the state.
That you dont understand the difference indicates that you dont even understand the basics.
Good luck.
You can claim it but you can’t back it up. I don’t have to make claims when it comes to factual things. I just put up the facts. It doesn’t matter how educated either one of us is on human rights. Put up or shut up. That’s how it works. In a debate your “outburst” would win the point how? If you are not interested in debating anything then we are not doing the same thing. It’s just an emotional outburst. Trump has targeted serious human rights abuse in fact. You should concede the point.
The ‘human rights’ executive order is an attempt to get at the Clintons by targeting primarily people with whom they have had dealings in the Clinton initiative. Any agency that works abroad will occasionally have to deal with some bad actors in order to effect any change. One can debate the ethics and efficacy of such dealings, but it’s safe to say that this EO was not about Trump’s concern about human rights abuses, which has been historically non-existent. Those who believe in Clinton conspiracies and who are prone to yell ‘lock her up’ cheered this EO also for reasons other than concern for human rights abuses.
Close observers will note that IL has yet to accuse HW of any behaviors that HW has not accused IL and others here of.

So all those people are connected with the Clinton’s? Holy shit! That is fucked up. I know Dan Gertler is but I didn’t know all those people are.
“Donald Trump is the first president in modern history who barely pays lip service to the promotion of universal human rights. ”
Screw “lip service”. I want action.
Balanced perspective from someone with expertise who supported the EO: http://www.newsweek.com/trumps-surreptitious-move-against-foreign-human-rights-abusers-777186
Not all of them are connected to the Clinton initiative but the ones who don’t make obvious sense. How much do you know about foreign affairs, HW?
“Not all of them are connected to the Clinton initiative but the ones who don’t make obvious sense.”
Rephrase
“How much do you know about foreign affairs, HW?”
Is there a way to quantify that? I would probably tend to underestimate what I do know because I have an inkling of how much I don’t know.
Like it should be obvious which ones are not connected? Just say which ones are if you know. We already know there is a Gertler connection.
“Screw “lip service”. I want action.”
Do you think that the promotion of human rights is like Rambo going in to save POWs?
So this is actually interesting. I suspect someone in the ‘beleaguered’ human rights offices inserted language in the EO (which Trump obviously had little part in crafting –as has been established in other cases) that grants human rights officials much more leeway to implement sanctions against individuals.
The EO is far from any kind of comprehensive Human Rights strategy, but it does loosen the binds on speedy action going forward. Let’s hope this is used for the greater good.
Executive Order 13818 takes this approach one step further, and draws upon the authority of both the Global Magnitsky Act and IEEPA, as well as the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, to establish an extremely flexible human rights and anti-corruption accountability tool with global reach.
“The executive order’s ambition is articulated in its preamble, in which the president finds that “the prevalence and severity of human rights abuse and corruption…have reached such scope and gravity that they threaten the stability of international political and economic systems.” The president goes on to say that he has therefore determined that “serious human rights abuse and corruption around the world constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States,” and thereby constitute a national emergency.
**Putting aside the absurdity that these Wilsonian-like words are supposed to reflect Trump’s actual views**, they’re something to behold. They also seem clearly at odds with the administration’s “America First” foreign policy, as recently articulated in its National Security Strategy (NSS), which the White House released three days prior to the EO. Instead of reflecting his NSS, Trump’s preamble seems to most closely resemble the text of President Barack Obama’s August 4, 2011 directive on mass atrocities, which both mandated the creation of an interagency Atrocities Prevention Board and declared that “Preventing mass atrocities and genocide is a core national security interest and a core moral responsibility of the United States.”
…
“Executive Order 13818 sidesteps many of these requirements by establishing a status-based relationship between officials and designated entities. Its section 1(ii)(C) notes that the U.S. government can sanction any foreign person determined “to be or have been a leader or official of an entity that has engaged in, or whose members have engaged in” serious human rights abuse or corruption. It also allows for the designation of a leader or official of “an entity whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order as a result of activities related to the leader’s or official’s tenure.”
“In the meantime, what we can say with certainty is that an administration unlikely to be remembered for its positive impact on human rights promotion or the global fight against corruption—to say the least—just formalized a policy tool that supersedes and improves upon existing law dealing with these issues.”
https://www.justsecurity.org/50846/trump-administration-notches-human-rights-win-no-really/
I think Trump got played. No doubt he signed thinking he would be able to get to the Clinton’s. Someone out there is being crafty…
“Do you think that the promotion of human rights is like Rambo going in to save POWs?”
If you just want someone who pays lip service then too bad for you. Sucks for you I guess to have a President willing to actually do something about it.
The only place where I could find detail of clinton foundation connections was on one of your conspiracy theory sites, HW. I know you will take it all at face value, but everyone else should not the 6 degrees of separation connections to the Clintons, which one can find anywhere in Africa and most of the developing world. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-12-28/new-trump-executive-order-targets-clinton-linked-individuals-lobbyists-and-perhaps
So the looseness of the language in the preamble may be an attempt to justify freezing more assets of Clinton Foundation donors, or possibly, the foundation itself. The foundation does good work. That would be terribly unfortunate for human rights…
Please also note the EO is modeled on past Obama administration actions.
Umm…. no.
Again…. no.
Do you think that the problem of drugs is solved through arrests? Even of crime lords? Like drugs, human rights is not preserved through the arrest of people who violate the law, but rather the nature of the law itself, institutions and societal attitudes.
The Trump administration has shown itself to have nothing but contempt for even basic human rights, such as the right of free expression, the right to express grievances against the government, the right to seek asylum and the right as a person to be treated equal under the law, the right to be treated as innocent until proven guilty in a court of law among others.
Moreover, the Trump administration, though action has undermined progress in the protection of human rights around the world. He fetishizes the worst tyrants around the world, while decrying democratic allies and institutions. He calls the press “the enemy of the people” at home emboldening countries which already arrest journalists and prevent free expression. He promotes a two tiered system of government, one for “us” and the other for “them.” He excuses the behavior of would be fascists who would happily put people in ovens if given the chance (Charlottesville).
So yeah, I guess he “did something about it” just nothing good.
I don’t expect much from you, but you are kidding yourself.
If anything, this exercise is interesting, since I assume that there are multitudes of people who share your flawed world view.
I enjoy imagining that Trump is being played by long time bureaucrats into actually making their work easier going forward. It may be a fantasy, but I’m sticking with it. I expect no human rights improvements at home or abroad during Trump’s time in office. they have already been undermined at home as we all know. My son’s classmate’s father was deported after being here for 20 years, paying taxes, buying a home etc etc. And ICE knew he was here. He followed all protocols.
His SOTU promise to fill Gitmo with new detainees will be great progress on Human Rights.
He’s a sick man.
I thought a god -emperor would be able to give a better speech?
boy, the Dows really dropping. Is the party over?
Virtue signaling? I thought that was when you received praise from your social group because of your stance on an issue?
It’s new and improved Jean Henry brand Super-Fucked-Up Virtue Signalling.
HW, your facts are off yet again. There are no current dictators or Presidents of African countries in the Annex of the EO you linked to. The one former “dictator” had been an elected President and was not re-elected 2016. He had ceased serving as President of Gambia nearly a year prior to Trumps executive order sanctioning him. A bad guy, but he stepped down after not being reelected. The only other African on the list is a capitalist.
The 13 folks on the list seem to be truly bad folks, but not one current head of state. The guy from Gambia is the only ex-head of state.
You should try to do a better job of understanding the facts before you site them in support of your position.
HW – Aren’t we engaged in a battle? I just don’t attack you personally. Was I ass kissing you and I just didn’t notice it? I know that often I battle with music – because when it hits, you feel no pain!
In case anyone is interested in the demise of the planet. Most of the Arctic remains 10 to 20 c above normal.

Ex-dictators – close enough. It’s against human rights abuse. Gertler is on there and he is on the other end of corruption in the Congo.
A tune for Mr.Wobblie before I punch the clock.

Sad– Virtue signaling in this case is purporting to be more fair (and so superior in character) by applying equanimity to situations that call for taking a stand. There is no virtue in pacifying a person with dangerous and bigoted ideas.
Clearly HW did not get your musical critique.
If you aren’t just like Jean you must be the devil. It’s a severe form of shaming that she does automatically. It’s so ingrained she doesn’t even know she does it.
You have to back up what you say or else you are just bullshitting. You call me a bigot as if that makes it true. You couldn’t come up with one thing to support it when you said I “denigrate demographics”. Bullshit.
Everything that Trump is pursuing, including the Human Rights EO is motivated by a desire to erode the capacity of the FBI and the DOJ, to save his own hide. Even the pretext of the Clintons is just about covering his own ass, avoiding accountability. And consolidating his own power. No one has less integrity. Totalitarian creep. Please note Paul Ryan’s un-self conscious use of the word ‘cleanse’ re scrutiny of the FBI.

HW believes a cleanse of the ‘deep state’ is necessary. He fails to notice the consolidation of power (and limiting of accountability) in the executive branch that is the true objective. He’s so busy digging for proof of corruption in areas of government to which we have no access, that he does not see it right before him. He overlooks all failures of Trump and co. This severely harms his credibility.
You have no idea how bad the criminality is, Jean. You will have some idea soon and it’s going to get worse and worse. Say all the opinions you want on it but it doesn’t change the reality.
HW– Are you at all concerned about Trump’s consolidation of power in the Executive branch by undermining any agency or bureaucracy that might hold him accountable?
What you call holding accountable is plainly a coup attempt based on lies. That’s what the FISA abuse shows.
JH, HW has made it clear that he is in favor of police state solutions. The Republicans are lining up, or so it seems. Trump called for the elimination of civil service protection for Government bureaucrats last night, “Tonight, I call on the congress to empower every Cabinet secretary with the authority to reward good workers—and to remove federal employees who undermine the public trust or fail the American people.” HW maybe correct that we will see the biggest purge since the Democrats took over the White House when reconstruction ended.
Cant play today, HW. Have a good one.
“JH, HW has made it clear that he is in favor of police state solutions.”
yes, directed at Black and Brown people and anyone who gets in Trumps way only.
White nationalists should not be questioned. Only the left is violent. Men and white people are equally oppressed. The rich get a break unless associated with the Clintons.
But he’s neither a bigot or an autocrat.
I am for using USA law enforcement to purge corruption. It never should have been allowed in the first place. How do members of Congress become filthy rich on their salary?
Jean has it wrong. Trump is for all the American people. I have seen nothing to indicate otherwise. It’s economic nationalism, not “White”. If I thought Trump was that I would be very far away from supporting him.
HW, yea right tell your fellow citizens of Puerto Rico how much Trump is doing for them
“Show me the man, and I’ll show you the crime.” – Lavrentiy Beria, head of Joseph Stalin’s secret police
You ignore the massive aid and the mishandling of it by Puerto Rico. I’m sure if Trump could just poop out all the many billions it will take to fix Puerto Rico it would be done. Unfortunately it’s probably a much bigger job than can be done immediately on our budget.
Hw– How do you feel about the new tax plan? Did Trump stick it to the rich and corrupt? Do you see a lessening of corporate influence in American politics. Whose iterests is Trump serving?
There is nothing uglier than an apologist for the corrupt and bigoted.
Still waiting for HW to offer one criticism of Trump…
That’s how the Obama White House acted with their FBI/DOJ cronies: like the KGB. Everything you complain about is what your people have done and Trump is not doing. You’ll refuse to believe it until it is undeniable. That time is coming and it begins with the memo.
“There is nothing uglier than an apologist for the corrupt and bigoted.”
Well, you ain’t too good lookin’ to put it in a ‘WWC’ way.
“Still waiting for HW to offer one criticism of Trump…”
Why should I? He’s doing extremely well. Best President in my lifetime by far. The worst thing about him is he looks weird. Not too worried about that though. “It doesn’t matter if you are purple, orange, navy blue with yellow polka dots…”
