The rich and powerful Jeffrey Epstein is finally being brought to justice for the sex trafficking of minors. Will there be others?

Early yesterday evening, FBI agents took billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein into custody at his Manhattan townhouse. According to reports in the press, Epstein, who is an admitted sex offender, will be arraigned in federal court tomorrow on sex trafficking charges. This marks a dramatic reversal for the powerful and influential Epstein, who had no doubt thought that, with his 2008 plea deal, in which he agreed to serve 13 months in a work-release program in exchange for admitting that he had solicited an underage girl for prostitution, all of this was behind him. Well, it’s apparently far from over for Epstein, who is now going to face multiple federal charges for having molested, raped, trafficked, and otherwise taken advantage of numerous young women in both Florida and New York.

I won’t get too deep into the background here, but, if you’re interested in knowing more about how Epstein “for years lured teenage girls to his Palm Beach mansion as part of a cult-like sex pyramid scheme,” I’d encourage you to read the reporting of the Miami Herald, whose reporters have done a phenomenal job of talking with Epstein’s victims, explaining how it was that the well-connected investment banker was able, up until now, to get away with just a slap on his wrist, and keeping the story in front of people… allowing for pressure to build, so that these nearly 100 or more young women might finally see justice served.

I know I said I wouldn’t go too deep into Epstein’s crimes, but, just to give you an idea of how he operated, here’s a brief excerpt from a recent article at the Daily Beast.

…Another accuser, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, has long claimed that Epstein and [his partner partner Ghislaine] Maxwell abused minor girls across the country and abroad, and that Epstein loaned his victims out to his famous friends, including [Alan] Dershowitz and Prince Andrew.

Giuffre filed a declaration in 2015 as part of the Crime Victims’ Rights Act suit and detailed Epstein’s alleged sex ring. She said she met Epstein in 1999 after Maxwell approached her during her summer job at Mar-a-Lago. She was 15 years old.

Maxwell allegedly offered Giuffre professional training in massages. But when Giuffre arrived at Epstein’s Palm Beach home, she was allegedly forced into sexual activity with the billionaire and would become trapped in his web.

She said that when she began “working” for Epstein, he flew her to New York on his private jet and molested her at his Manhattan mansion. “I was trained to be ‘everything a man wanted me to be,’” Giuffre said in the declaration. “It wasn’t just sexual training—they wanted me to be able to cater to all the needs of the men they were going to send me to.”

Maxwell and Epstein allegedly ordered Giuffre to pay attention to what the men wanted, so she could report back to them. Giuffre said she traveled with Epstein from 1999 through the summer of 2002, to his homes in New York, New Mexico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Paris, France.

“I had sex with him often in these places and also with the various people he demanded that I have sex with,” Giuffre stated. “Epstein paid me for many of these sexual encounters. In fact, my only purpose for Epstein, Maxwell and their friends was to be used for sex.”

Giuffre added that “Epstein had sex with underage girls on a daily basis” and that his interest in minor girls was “obvious” to those in his orbit. His code word for this abuse was “massage,” and Maxwell would often have sex with the victims, too, Giuffre claimed…

Speaking of Epstein’s “loaning” of girls to his powerful friends, here’s a photo of Giuffre with Prince Andrew, whom she says Epstein directed her to have sex with. [That’s Maxwell smiling behind them.]

Given that Epstein was a friend of Donald Trump’s, and that Trump’s Labor Secretary, Alexander Acosta, was the man who, as U.S. Attorney in 2008, had arranged for the billionaire pedophile to stay out of prison instead of getting a life-sentence, you can be sure this case is going to have political ramifications. And, right now, everyone is speculating as to how many well-known individuals may go down with Epstein.

In addition to Prince Andrew, there are allegations that Epstein also provided girls for his friend and attorney, Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz. And, of course, there’s Donald Trump, who, in 2002, called Epstein a “terrific guy,” who he’s known for 15 years. Donald Trump went on to say of Epstein, “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It’s even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do. And many of them are on the younger side.” I’m not aware of any specific allegations concerning Trump relative to Epstein’s criminal sexual enterprise, but who knows what may come up as this case evolves, and we hear more about the powerful men Epstein sought to curry favor with… It’s common knowledge, for instance, that former president Bill Clinton has flown on Epstein’s private jet, nicknamed the “Lolita Express” by members of the press, several times.

I’d like to think that it would go without saying, but I don’t care whether or not this investigation takes down Clinton or any other prominent Democrats. I only care that the truth comes out. And my hope is that every single person who either participated in these activities, or aided Epstein in this sex trafficking enterprise of his, is brought to justice… And I do think that, by the time all of this is done, others will be facing charges. As former National Security Agency analyst and counterintelligence officer John Schindler just recently shared on Twitter, there’s every reason to believe that Epstein kept records.

I’m hesitant to wade into these waters, as any talk of pedophilia tends to bring out the “Q”, and I really don’t want to hear any of their fantasy fan faction about how a heroic Donald Trump and his totally not-dead sidekick, JFK Jr., planned all of this to bring down Clinton and Epstein… But I figure it’s worth talking about. So, what the hell.

OK, it looks like I may have to update the part of the post were I said that I wasn’t aware of any allegations against Trump that tie him to this criminal enterprise of Epstein’s. It looks as though one of Trump’s accusers is a woman who claims to have been raped by the President when she was 13 years old, at Epstein’s Manhattan home, in 1994.

You agree with David Simon: “If you’re still trying to handicap this thing on partisan lines, hoping that more Republican or Democratic leaders are implicated, you’re a lost ball in the tall grass of our political shitshow. For a change of pace, try hoping they catch and punish every last shitbird predator.”

You’re about to see what billions of dollars and political power can do to derail justice. There’s no way Epstein didn’t have many powerful pedophile friends in business and politics. I’ll bet very few, if any, go to prison. I’m disappointed a psycho father or significant other didn’t take it upon himself years ago to execute Epstein and as many of his monsterois friends as possible. That’s the only way justice would ever come to billionaires and political power players.

You did mention the Clinton’s I see. That’s funny that what is “common knowledge” today is what your readers flatly denied yesterday. I put up the flight logs obtained by Fox showing Bill Clinton on the Lolita Express and you people actually denied they were real.

To be fair, most people here didn’t deny they were real so much as they just made stupid snarky comments, so as to give the impression that the suggestion was resiculioisly absurd, while at the same time not saying anything of any substance. That’s the standard Maytard MO.

The argument that it can’t be real because a 13 year old victim of human trafficking incorrectly identified the ownership of the property where she was raped is a new level of inhumanity from the supposed party of values. Sick fucks all of you GOPers.

HW, victims in crimes are often mistaken about crucial details. It doesn’t dismiss the possibility that their general claims are true just because they are mistaken about a detail such as who owned an apartment.

  20. Hyborian Warlord

She said it was Epstein’s place, his big apartment where he held lavish parties. How could someone get that wrong?

  21. iRobert
    Posted July 8, 2019 at 7:59 am | Permalink

Whether Epstein had an apartment rented or purchased in his name or not is pretty insignificant information as far as it’s value in dismissing claims. A billionaire such as he could easily have access to apartments of friends, associates, or of others who allow him that access as a favor, a gift, or for cash, etc.

It’s certainly possible that Trump is being falsely implicated by Katie Johnson, but it will take more than that one bit of detail about not owning an apartment at the time to dismiss the accusations.

If she didn’t know for sure her lawyer shouldn’t have put it in the lawsuit. You don’t believe in the concept of the alibi? If someone puts you somewhere in their story but the place did not exist at the time then it tends to belie the claim.

If Katie Johnson’s story is a fabricated lie, you may still want it to live a bit longer, HW. Because it would keep a lot of anti-Trump folks pushing for this Epstein case to develop as well. Politics is a quite often a very strange game of that nature.

If there doesn’t appear to be any chance Trump was involved, most Democrats will want to ignore it, especially the sort that most frequent this page.

If the Leader has sex with underage girls that is ok. He is god’s anointed and all of his actions are excused and forgiven. Will this Epstein case reduce costs for prescription medicines? Will it result in uninsured Americans having access to health care? Will tuition costs at universities be controlled as a result of this case? Will there be increased monitoring of police to reduce cases of police brutality? Will there be fewer dead Yemeni kids because of this case? Will this prevent nuclear proliferation? How will this solve the problem of economic inequality in the United States?

Answer: It won’t do anything about any of those vastly more important issues. It will only occupy headlines for a while and distract us from discussing real issues that our government should be dealing with. But go ahead, distract yourselves for a while.

A lot of things are going to be in the news that will vindicate what I have said all along.

It is an absolutely amazing time to be alive. There have been huge pedo ring busts in the USA and the world recently (Operation Safe Summer II, Operation Broken Heart…) with hundreds of children rescued and thousands of sick pieces of shit busted. Not just run of the mill abusers anymore but ELITE players such as the Bronfman’s and Epstein and all the others connected to them. This is all very very good for the world. I don’t understand the instinct to attack someone who told you a long time ago this would happen. FF in fact I have a slightly higher than kindergarten level intelligence because I can read. How about you?

I posed a simple question to HW early on: would he disavow Trump if he was shown to have raped underaged girls.

HW equivocated. He denied the possibility. He could have just said, yes, especially if he believed it impossible, but squirmed to avoid it.

‘Kat is implying HW does not want child molestors to be held accountable for their actions.‘.— No, only Trump.

  101. Jean Henry

  102. Jean Henry
    Posted July 9, 2019 at 6:54 pm | Permalink

Ah it was on another thread. But I asked him three times then and once here:
‘Today’s a good day to find out from the Trump supporters in your life whether they’ll stop supporting him if it’s revealed in the Jeffrey Epstein case that Trump raped children. It’s important to get them to commit now so if and when that fact comes out you’ve got them on record.’
    https://twitter.com/sethabramson/status/1147830073569026050?s=21
So HW— can we get you on record? I’d have no problem seeing Bill Clinton be held accountable if you are wondering.‘

  103. Frosted Flakes
    Posted July 9, 2019 at 7:49 pm | Permalink

I just re-read the thread, Jean.

HW’s response seems reasonable to me. Your question/ Abramson’s question was obviously intentionally vague on the word “revealed”. HW rightly asked you for clarification on your question. Asking for a question to be made clearer, when that question is intentionally vague, is equivocation in Jean’s upside down world?

If HW believes that Trump is a child molestor then he is not going to support Trump. Almost nobody will support someone they believe is a child molestor. Everyone knows this fact…Prisons are filled with wildly unethical people and even they hate child molestors. Everybody knows this…. Sorry to take the fun out of your bullshit question which really is just a vague insinuation, of the worst kind, but sometimes it is better to cut through the bullshit.

My question is: What sort of person makes those kind of insinuations about other people while pretending they are asking a genuine question? Answer: Only scumbags.

We give Jean lots of opportunities to use “stupidity” as an alibi but she insists she is not an idiot. I am not sure what to think.

It’s the same answer I gave you before, Jean. We do not agree on definitions for a lot of things. “Revealed?” I’m supposed to go with that? “Proven” would be a better word to use. It’s a dumb question. I told you I would not have voted for him if I thought the Katie Johnson story even might be true. I almost didn’t do it based on that lie. If what you say is true then it is odd that you have chosen to be perceived as odd by using a handle you know other people are using. Very odd. The pattern of predictable pivots to pointless discussions about the mysteries created around Anonymity are odd too.

As it is, I detect a primary voice, narrow point of view, and narrow pattern of expression under the handle “Anonymous” and I find it to be very odd.

The Observer: “It Sure Looks Like Jeffrey Epstein Was a Spy—But Whose?”

It appears that Jeffrey Epstein was involved in intelligence work, of some kind, for someone—and it probably wasn’t American intelligence either. The U.S. Intelligence Community is lenient about the private habits of high-value agents or informants, but they won’t countenance running sex trafficking rings for minors on American soil, for years. While it’s plausible that Epstein was sharing some information with the FBI—many criminals do so to buy themselves some insurance—it’s implausible that he was mainly working for the Americans.

Who are the suspects then? It seems awfully coincidental that Epstein’s best pal and business partner for decades has been Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite and daughter of the late Robert Maxwell, the media mogul who died under mysterious circumstances in 1991. Something of a Bond villain turned real life, Maxwell loved the limelight, despite being a swindler and a spy. British counterintelligence assessed that Maxwell was working for the KGB, while pervasive allegations that he was working for Mossad too are equally plausible.

Since the lines between Russian intelligence, Israeli intelligence and organized crime can get remarkably blurry in practice, as I’ve explained previously, assessing whom Epstein’s been working for may prove difficult to answer with any precision. But we have a suspect list to start asking questions.

What’s not in doubt is that a sex trafficking ring centered on minors, which involved numerous global VIPs in compromising situations, would be of high interest to quite a few intelligence services. The Epstein saga seems certain to get even more unpleasant and interesting.

HW — to be clear no one disputed the necessity of shutting down NXiVM or Epstein. We disagreeed that either we lead to a collapse of a left liberal cabal that extracted the blood of tortured children to get high.

Nothing like that has come up out of either convictions.

Now are either sets of charges in any way associated with Trump, except to the degree that he was paps with the accused and his labor secretary made a back room deal to protect him 12 years ago. Both investigations were conducted by the FBI, which you call the deep state, beginning long before Trump took office.

You have wrecked no one. You are just as weak and pathetic as ever.

Same with the lizard shit. Only you derps have said anything about that. That’s the only way you can keep your charade going; ridicule through misrepresentation. I think using lies to ridicule truth is one of the worst things a “regular person” (not the criminally ill) can do. Poetically speaking when you lie you murder a part of the world as Cliff Burton wrote.

Mitch McConnell COULD be a turtle person I’ll admit. Ascribing animal DNA to human beings could go south fast though. Probably best to assume we’re all human beings. I am agnostic on aliens/UFOs/unexplained phenomena/etc. as I try to be on everything. We know very little is all I know. I expect there are guarded (pre)historical secrets in this world and some of these will come to light.

HW you didn’t a lot of time defending the existence and origin of Adrenochrome after I demonstrated that the theory originated in a Hunter Thompson novel and they he himself said it was made up.

You then went on to talk about the child torture going on in secret left wing cabals run by the Clintons.

We brought it up; you responded.

You didn’t even acknowledge that Q was the source of your theories until we discovered it and called you on it.

You believe a lot, clearly, but aren’t willing to state the full extent of it. Naturally we would ask you about the various branches of the Qanon conspiracy theories.

Q is the unifying theory that makes your obsessions and blind spots make sense. Like your obsession with justice re child sex trafficking and pedophilia (not rocket science there) but your refusal to take seriously any charges of same or similar against Trump.

Using adrenochrome as a drug is real. You know that for a fact since I posted research about its’ effects on human beings. I never said that’s what they do underneath the temple on Little St. James but I would not be surprised if is true. It’s interesting you and your absent buddy both freak out on me about something I have never talked about here.

I took care of your reckless claim about Hunter Thompson making up adrenochrome by posting research on it. That’s right.

“You then went on to talk about the child torture going on in secret left wing cabals run by the Clintons.”

What did I say? Use quotes only. I don’t care what you think I said.

“You didn’t even acknowledge that Q was the source of your theories until we discovered it and called you on it.”

So what if I didn’t mention Q until I felt like it (when someone asked, not you)? It was fun to see how many things I could say that you would completely freak out about but that I could see would probably end up being true. Many have and more are about to.

I have been around for a while. I wouldn’t say I “get my theories” from Q or anyone. What theories anyway? I entertain possibilities and do my best to determine their likelihood.

“You believe a lot, clearly, but aren’t willing to state the full extent of it. Naturally we would ask you about the various branches of the Qanon conspiracy theories.”

I don’t think there is any way for you to understand my relationship to the concept of belief. I have explained it and you haven’t understood it at all. I try to avoid it as much as possible. See? You are so infected with the belief virus you think I say things I don’t.

You refuse to find out what Q is. Various branches? I’ve told you a fair bit, more than you have learned elsewhere but you refuse to learn. Your questions are asinine and repetitive. I would have told you wayyy more a long time ago but you are stuck in the mud.

“Q is the unifying theory that makes your obsessions and blind spots make sense. Like your obsession with justice re child sex trafficking and pedophilia (not rocket science there) but your refusal to take seriously any charges of same or similar against Trump.”

Nice opinion. I wouldn’t say not turning a blind eye like you equals obsession. Again you are in deep, deep destructive denial.

Aloha, With this weekends scheduled ICE sweeps (with the corresponding suspension of civil liberties in the border areas–like Detroit), my friend Elena Herrada has put forth some thing we can all do to show solidarity with those whom The Leader has chosen for ethnic cleansing.
“Reflections on citizenship. I’m an American citizen. I did absolutely nothing to earn that status. My father was among those repatriated who are also American citizens. They were actually de patriated. This weekend is the concert of colors. Because of my citizenship status in my mixed blood which allows me to pass for white, I could freely attend without worries. How many of our neighbors will not be able to safely leave their homes this weekend. They will still be worrying even inside their homes. We were living in a moment of state-sponsored terrorism. Innocent people are being held in camps for trying to escape unspeakable conditions in their Homeland. We have a president who supports pedophilia, human trafficking, encourages hatred and now his set Homeland Security upon a defenseless community. We have now learned said if we answer questions on the census they can be used against us. In solidarity with those who are being hunted like animals, I will not attend public events this weekend or spend a penny in this economy.”

Epstein is trying to get released on bail today. He’s an obvious flight risk. He also likely has contracts out on his life, placed on him by customers of his child sex operation seeking to put an end to the case. If released, I’m betting they get him. They have a good chance of getting him even if he isn’t released from custody, but with proper precautions he could be kept alive through the trial.
