This morning, as the Manafort trial starts its second day, Donald Trump demanded that his Attorney General stop the Mueller investigation “right now”.
I know, in the context of all the craziness that’s taken place over these past two years, this may not seem like a big deal, but it’s a tremendously big deal. The President of United States just demanding that his Justice Department obstruct justice, shutting down an active investigation into Russian election interference that has already yielded two guilty pleas and over 30 grand jury indictments. If this demand had been made behind closed doors and caught on tape, we’d likely be talking about impeachment right now. Instead, though, because it happened right out in the open, on social media, we’re tempted to write it off and just “Trump being Trump.” That doesn’t, however, make it any less serious… My first instinct, as you can see here, was to laugh it off, and make a smart ass comment about how terrified Donald Trump must be this morning, but we really are living though a crisis at this very moment, the likes of which this nation has never known.
And, no, it’s not a good look for Donald Trump to be begging like this in public… The image that keeps coming to mind for me is the little fly with the human head in 1958’s The Fly, caught in the web at the end of the film, about to be consumed by the big, hungry spider, yelling in a tinny, little voice to Vincent Price, “help me, help me,” only to be squashed with a rock.

I couldn’t agree more, and I think those who seek to ‘normalize’ this behavior, or minimize it by claiming it is just “Trump being Trump,” are acting as accessories to the crime.
In my worst moments, I feel DJT is merely a symptom – the most vivid (and perhaps dangerous) manifestation of a broader breakdown in our society. Along with the rule of law, it seems that the authority (legitimacy) of government, journalism, education, science, etc., is being steadily eroded to the point that many people no longer know what, or whom, to believe.
I don’t mean to sound alarmist, but I genuine fear that if this continues, we are slowly-but-surely headed into a period of unprecedented fear, distrust, and anger … not to mention violence and instability.

Wait, I thought it was Russian collusion. Now it’s all about interference. I see. You want to move the goalpost to try to make it sound like DJT is against investigating alleged Russian efforts to affect our election. But what if your Russian indictees had nothing to do with hacking the DNC? You can’t imagine Seth Rich actually downloaded the files right in the office and the CIA is lying their ass off to frame these supposed Russian hackers. Just try. Try to crack out of the eggshell. It is a sign of intelligence to be able to consider all possibilities, not just what is inside your little world.
Please explain to me how this is an outrage, yet when Loretta Lynch instructed James Comey to obstruct the investigations into Hilliary’s numerous crimes after meeting with Bill on the tarmac it was no problem at all. The Attorney General demanding that the FBI obstruct justice was business as usual in the Obama administration.
I think we should investigate and prosecute in the order of occurrence – Hiliary first, then Trump.

The DOJ is able to bring charges against them, but they won’t, because there isn’t any justification. Instead, the Trump admin will continue to bait the reddit/4chan crowd with mean sounding words, and no action. Instead, Trumps own appointee’s have made the choice to investigate him, and have been successful in getting guilty pleas and filing charges. I’m totally comfortable with an investigation into Hillary, Obama, etc, because, like Benghazi, its all bark. And if it isn’t, they should be charged appropriately.
Comey himself laid out the justification to charge Clinton. To say there was no intent is crazy. She destroyed subpoenaed evidence. On what planet does extreme carelessness in Comey’s own words not equal gross negligence?

Sessions could file charges today, why doesn’t he? My view on it is that he is clear eyed enough to see that it would be an abuse of his authority as AG (bringing charges against someone when there isn’t an actual case). I still haven’t heard any explanation of why the Trump administration has literally done nothing. They published a report on Comey, which claimed insubordination. I’m pretty sure that only gets you a demerit, or an after school detention.
Again, there is no case here, and the Trump Admin’s actions, investigating POTUS and his campaign, speak much louder than Trump’s words against Comey, Jarret, etc. This is all being carried out by Republicans and Republican appointee’s at this point. It is completely in their authority to fire Mueller and appoint someone to look into Clinton. But again, they don’t, despite presidential tamtrums. I think it is worth asking why.

As long as there are professional prosecutors running the show in the DOJ, the rule of law may still prevail. Trump is obviously guilty of obstruction of justice. Whether or not he or his campaign “colluded” or “criminally conspired” with the Russians in irrelevant under the law. Obstructing a legal investigation is a crime. Impeachable and criminal. In fact obstruction of justice is a “high crime” ie. felony punishable by imprisonment.

I don’t think you understand what I mean by optics. Sessions has to appear neutral. Trump cannot appear to use him as an “attack dog against his political enemies” (even though the enemies are in fact criminals.) Benghazi is one of many things Clinton has done and probably not the worst. She will get it. You will get some too in a karmic sense for trying to help these incredible scumbags.

Trump is daring the media to ask him about it. They pussyfooted around about it today at the press conference but they haven’t asked the big question yet.

Someone did get me. Should have checked on that twitter account. That’s good because I would have been disappointed if that is all Q’s post turned out to be. I expect bigger things than a mere confirmation of Q from that one: “The World is about to change.”
I predict when Q’s identity is revealed, it will be so disappointing you will reflexively turn to increasingly dumber conspiracy theories to avoid having to accept it.

I can’t tell if you are serious, but if you are I don’t think you understand internet humor. Basically, its funny to be in on a joke or meme, and to troll people who are out of it. The process of them trying to chase down “getting in/redpill/etc”, in other words understanding the joke, is also funny. Memes and jokes are made up of references on references, the less detail and more you confuse (like mispell, drop words, etc), the better the joke.
FWIW, an example of these types of jokes are all of the “I noticed that I’ve only seen 25 facebook friends on my feed” “type bff” “if 10000 people share this facebook will X” things. Those are all fake and all jokes that are being played on people. The joke is that they don’t know it’s a joke.
I would recommend listening to the podcast Reply All, which might help you see what is going on. They talked about Qanon recently, but I would recommend taking a few out of the middle of the show so you can understand what is happening (its kind of a weird show with a strange sense of humor, the yes yes no segments are what should listen to). Then listen to the qanon one, and you’ll see that the jokes they are making are very similar to what the q people are doing.
I looked at the qanon stuff, and really, some of it is pretty well done, but its just a few people playing a really meta joke. I’m somewhat worried that they are largely tricking people who didn’t grow up with the internet.

No, no. Trolling is what I succumbed to on that Space Force account. They are trolling Q. That’s embarrassing but a rare mistake for me. There are plenty of real confirmations by DJT that he is part of Q. What is it you looked at? Q’s actual posts or just people talking about Q-related things?
The 8ch stuff, straight from them. He makes a prediction that is either unremarkable or vague, and people try to show how it’s true. Those in on the joke know that the goal is to try to scale up the scope of the theory that could be attached to the reference. Sometimes Q just runs with it, other times he’ll take it in a new direction. This guy is an old school Redditor who is having fun with this.

None of this was new from the time that he put this up through the end of the day. Its just a cryptic summary of things that have already happened, mixed with a few conspiracy theories and digs at social media companies. Anyone who reads the news could say any of those things. I thought what was amazing about Q is all the things that come true?
The only tweet from the 2nd that has anything to do with his predictions was about Ivanka handling the ‘enemy of the people question’ well.
