Low paying job opportunity at MarkMaynard.com

It’s nothing terribly ambitious, but there are a few technical things that I’d like to do to make this site better. I’ve got a list of about ten items. I don’t think that any of it is too complicated, but – and it’s with some degree of shame that I say this – it’s all beyond me. So, after several years of procrastinating, and a handful of hours this weekend spent trying to figure things out myself, I’ve decided to ask for help. So, if you’re a trustworthy sort who likes this site, and knows the ins and outs of WordPress, and if you want to earn a few extra dollars while a middle-aged guy with a bad back and OCD brings you beers, leave a comment, or send an email to MarkMaynard11@gmail.com. [note: I will not be bringing you beers if you are under-age. I will be bringing you alternating shots of Red Bull and Capri Sun.]

I’d initially thought about going the Charlie Sheen route and setting this up as an internship, but my sense is that the work I need to have done wouldn’t require that long of an engagement. I suppose, however, that we could call it that, if someone wanted to actually use the experience for credit, or something. [Wouldn’t an internship at Maynard Communications look good on a resume?] As for money, I don’t have very much to spare at the moment, but, if all you need is a little extra cheese money, I think I could make it worth your while. If you wanted, I could even pay you in cheese. And, while it’s not imperative that you like the site, I do think it might help if you at least somewhat like what I do here and see it as a good thing for the Ypsi-Arbor community.

OK, I guess that’s it… Please feel free to share this with your nerdy friends and the like… And wish me luck. If things work out like I want, the site will be a whole lot better in few months.

I’m no WordPress pro, but if you have some more details, I might have the skillz, unless someone has already taken the task.

I’d like to know if that poor elephant in your picture, did indeed get some help. Poor thing.

What a great opportunity to be a wage slave for Mark Maynard. Sounds like this will probably work out to below minimum wage, right? Or at least well below a “living wage”? And is the offer to pay in cheese or beer intentionally meant to aid in tax evasion? You know you’re still supposed to declare income from barter, right? Any qualms about cutting out our schools and parks from this transaction?

Glad to see you back, mSS. All your years of lurking have finally paid off. You’ve caught Mark in an attempt to pay someone to help him with his personal, non-profit website, and then, maybe, not declare the five or six hours he pays for said person’s help. Have you called 60 Minutes? This sounds huge.

You picked a bad time to announce this. The next day, McDonalds announced that they were adding 50,000 jobs.
