For those of you eating dinner alone this evening, I present you this very nice segment from the Daily Show on right wing fear mongering.
The Daily Show With Jon Stewart | M – Th 11p / 10c | |||

Now, if you’re still not done with dinner, and want to see something even funnier, check out this footage of Billy Bob Thornton being interviewed about his music career. [I want to think that he’s following Joaquin Phoenix’s lead and trying his hand at performance art, but I suspect he’s just a self-important asshole.]

John Stewart is great. I wish I had half his with and charm (or that of his writers.)
We should make viewing of this show mandatory in the reeducation camps!
I have a friend name Laura who actually ate shit in a taco when she was in Costa Rica.
Human shit?
Was it a special part of the Costa Rican cuisine or just a general Central American preparation?
Is that why they named it the “Rich Coast?”
No, but this is tyranny (Olberman report on Obama expanding Bush wiretaps). You should really watch this; don’t shoot the messenger.
Believe me, I want me to have to eat spoonfuls of bacon grease as bad as the next guy. But it ain’t gonna happen.
Brackinald Achery, I’d be interested in seeing what folks here make of that wiretap expansion too. But apparently they’re looking away.
Thumbs up to Robert.

Yes, just as I was saying back during the 2008 Primaries, I think the Obama team made deals with many of the criminals who controlled the Bush Administration. They pretty much had to, in order to get through the primary process. That’s just the way it is. (I know that hurts a lot of people’s feelings out there) I’m sure the Obama folks just figured it would be counter-productive to pursue those cases anyway. It may be, but sometimes doing what is morally right is quite counter-productive. I think that’s the situation we all have placed ourselves in here. It is just part of the enormous price we’ll be paying for allowing what we have over the past eight years.
More about Obama refusing to persecute Bush officials:

It’s really starting to add up.
What’s adding up?
The evidence that Obama is not trying to rectify or get justice for Bush’s worst police-state policies is adding up.
They should at least chase a few people around for show. It’s not like they’d actually have to convict anyone…or would ever even get the chance to. Just calling people in for questioning should get a bunch of them whacked. I’d be satisfied with that.
