More on Swinton’s performance can be found here.
David Blaine, by the way, it probably not amused.
And, if you happen to be in the unenviable position of being a woman who looks like me, and wouldn’t mind sleeping in a glass box for a few days, let me know. I’ve got an idea in mind.
Personally, I like the Tilda Swinton character better than the Thin White Duke. It’s not quite as good as Ziggy Stardust, though. Still, you have to give him credit. He keeps trying to make it fresh.
Why is it that when Tilda Swinton sleeps in a box I think it’s charming, but, when David Blaine does it, I just think – “Attention Whoring Douche Bag”?
i’m pretty sure this is not a publicity stunt.
the only way to get people to listen to his awful new album is to lock them in a box or a closet or the trunk of a ford figo.
Swinton, as of late, really seems to be enjoying the fact that she’s a Bowie lookalike. She not only did the video for the new Bowie track, “The Stars (Are Out Tonight)”, but she also delivered the opening speech at the “David Bowie Is…” exhibition at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum, calling him “planetary kin”. Here is an excerpt.

I prefer your Facebook update which followed this one.

Bowie has been known to dabble in witchcraft. I suspect, however, that his youthful appearance has more to do with good genes and great plastic surgeons.

No conversation about Bowie would be complete without his appearance on Extras.

From what I’ve read, she first performed this piece, called “The Maybe”, in 1995.

David Bowie is only 66.
That’s what he wants you to believe, Peter. He’s yet to turn over his long-form birth certificate, though.
I can’t let this go.
I just Googled “Bowie + Dorian Gray” and found that it’s an idea that he’s explored before, in the video for the 1979 song “Look Back in Anger”.
Wikipedia: “David Mallet directed a music video for the song, featuring Bowie in an artist’s studio. The scenario was based on the conclusion of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, as a self-portrait of the protagonist grows more handsome while he himself physically decays.”

IMHO, it’s not his best work. Interesting though.
Yeah, I was joking when I said that he was 80. Thanks for the factcheck.
And, when I’m not in the box, I’m a white stripe.
