Oddly enough, this has absolutely nothing to do with the recent shootings in the neighborhood. I just think that maybe it’s time to pack up the family like Dr. John Robinson and head off into some quiet corner of the universe, away from people. I know William Shatner says “It’s lonely out in space,” but, given my interactions with people lately, I’m thinking that a few decades on Kepler-452b might be just what I need.

It’s also brighter than the earth, which would awesome.
“Kepler-452 is 6 billion years old, 1.5 billion years older than our sun, has the same temperature, and is 20 percent brighter and has a diameter 10 percent larger.”
Ypsilanti needs escape pods.
There was another study published this week claiming that global warming is much worse that previously thought. You may not be alone on Kepler long. The billionaires and their concubines will be right behind you.
But think of all the things you’d miss! You’d miss the Corner and Dr. Peter piping up with “interesting” comments and EOS and the lunches you have with Dr. Peter and you would not remake the Hall’n’Oates video, and so I would follow you to the planet and start talking. I can talk for 4+ hours without stopping. It’s pretty amazing.
In other words, just stay put :)
