The other day, I heard someone mention that David Letterman was celebrating his 30th anniversary on television, and I made a note to myself to see if I could find the first episode of Late Night online. Well, I just did, and wanted to pass along a few clips. While Letterman was certainly good, if a bit nervous, his first guest, Bill Murray, was absolutely brilliant. It’s seriously one of the best talk show appearances that I’ve ever seen… easily up there with the likes of Gore Vidal, Klaus Kinski, Brother Theodore, Andy Kaufman, Frank Zappa, Dick Cavett and Kurt Vonnegut… Enjoy!

You didn’t mention it, but Bill Murray, even 30 years later, still happens to be one of the coolest men on the planet.
Here’s evidence.
