I’m not good with acronyms. Is that like CBGB? And, in his defense, Mark is too styless, husky and old to be a hipster. His facial hair isn’t even ironic. And he’s admitted to crying while watching Ghost.
This might not be the appropriate place to ask this question, as I should probably be kissing Mark’s ass and telling him how indispensable he is to our community, but I’d like to know if there are any other relatively decent blogs out there covering things of interest in Ypsi. The Ypsi Citizen is gone. The Ypsi Dixit is gone. Brian Robb doesn’t update his site any longer. Neither the Ypsi Tattler or the Ypsi News were ever any good. Is there anyone left, or is the same thing happening online that’s happening on Michigan Avenue?
Writing to a deadline is always hard, especially when there are many topics and many deadlines to write for, and you steady bloggers have an assumed deadline of everyday, right now or even “late already”. Tough to maintain, though you’ve done it with style and meaning and humanity for years. And you’ve had a real audience, a diverse one it seems, locally and beyond the local Ypsi scene too. So, you should feel proud at this accomplishment. Objectively, then, you should feel very deeply validated.
But yes, as other readers have said, fewer posts, yet steady posts, would be okay, eve fine. The point is to make the blog work for you and for your readers (in that order!). And no blog is as well read by dead ex presidents residing in hell as yours…though that may not be a key demographic that you’re aiming to reach. Ronnie Reagan says he hates your politics, but loves your take on popular culture.
Speaking of Kircher, are we planning any kind of “welcome-home” party for him when he gets out of prison? We should have a band waiting for him at the bus depot or something.
T Timmons – This might not be the appropriate place to answer your question, but I will. No. That goes for Ann Arbor, Saline, Chelsea, Dexter, Milan as well. We need obsessive people who need validation like Mr Maynard. Everyone else who started blogs have stopped them because they are either already validated or they just don’t give a damn anymore. Mark gives a damn. The day he doesn’t will be a sad day indeed!

I understand the need for validation as I have the same issue…drives my husband nuts. :)
Maybe you could just cut back. 5000 posts is a lot. I’d be happy with one quality MM post a week.
You should suck it up, stop complaining and blog twice as much.
How does a hipster give a proper GBCW?
I’d tell you, but it’s really obscure and you probably wouldn’t understand anyways.

Will Mark be back to blogging within 24 hours?
Does the Pope enjoy a good lap dance?

GBCW = goodbye cruel world, I’m guessing.
Maybe, if you posted less, you would get even more validation? I’d be more likely to comment on one post a week than comment once on twenty.
You deserve happiness and validation. Do you know why? Because you are GREAT! Yes you are! Who’s great? You are!

Not to add more pressure, but I really miss your comics.
It’s internet speak.
GBCW = Go Blow Cocks With unrivaled enthusiasm
And the world would surely end if you pulled the plug on this site. Unless, of course, Dave Kircher started his blog again upon release from prison.
Speaking of Kircher, are we planning any kind of “welcome-home” party for him when he gets out of prison? We should have a band waiting for him at the bus depot or something.

Mark is Ypsi’s Brett Favre.
