I was going to add, “The fucker,” but decided to keep it clean.

As I understand it, this photo was actually taken here in Ypsi, during the early days of telephones.

So, what do you want to talk about tonight? Anything special going on? Any events you’d like to plug? Any advice you’d like to offer? Any stories that you’d like to share? Anything you feel the need to confess? Now’s your chance, people.

Lots on my mind…but I will start with…

Why the hell are they remaking the Rockford Files?? I know Rockford was not Shakespeare, but that show IS James Garner! He was the first older man I thought was totally hot when I was a teen. And now as a 40 something, damn I look back at his early movie years…and oh my my he was the Man.

It also pisses me off that in this freaking huge country, can’t we come up with any more original thoughts. I dream of getting a screenplay read, let alone produced, and all hollywood does is remake things. (Same with Science and Technology…just remake old ideas, like the Newton).

And another thing, Ugly Betty is getting canceled, only show I watch on ABC…one of the only primetime shows I watch period. Oh well…

I keep thinking that the video surveillance cameras on the highways around town are hawks.

I guess they are also remaking the movie “The Last Dragon”. It’s the 80’s Berry Gordy movie with sweet characters like Sho-nuff and Bruce Leroy. The rumors for the remake involve Rihanna and Sameuel L Jackson…. yuck. No need to remake that movie, it was perfect the first time.

    Who’s the master?

I would love to pretend to care about a pornstars self esteem and true self, find out she always wanted to be an artist and sign her up for an art class. “off to my art class, look out picasso!!! :)” she’d twitter but when she shows up her class is 12 sketchy guys and I’m wearing a cartoonish artists outfit with an oversized hat and salvadore dali mustache. She’d appraise the situation and her face would start to quiver and I’d throw 2k at her feet and tell her to start sucking.

I know a Ypsilanti Public School teacher who sends his kids to another school district (that accepts students from other district boundaries). His wife transports them, a good 25-minute drive one way. That concerns me, as my kid will be school age in a few years. Is it that bad in Ypsilanti schools?

My wife went through the Ypsilanti Public School system twenty years ago, and she hated it. I student taught at Ypsi High a bit over ten years ago, and the teacher I worked with was terrible. Still, she retired, and I know the district has brought in a number of new teachers since then.

Can anybody with recent experience of having a child attend Ypsi schools give me some insight?

Tomorrow is daylight savings time. Spring forward everybody! I propose that we pressure legislatures to shift the change, in coming years, to a Wednesday, say around 4 p.m. That way, instead of losing an hour off our weekend, we lose and hour off our workday.

I’m cool with falling back though.

I think I saw an eagle fly by yesterday, here in Ypsilanti, a few blocks from the river. Not a hawk at all, not anything but an eagle!

It looks like the Ann Arbor Skate Park may finally become a reality now that Washtenaw County has pledged $400,000.

Why is it that almost every screened in front porch in Ypsi is full of junk? Srsly. Junk. The X-mas tree from six years ago. Cardboard boxes thrown together in no apparent order and never stacked neatly. One never knows if they have anything in them. Broken space heaters, shelving units, vacuum cleaners, etc.

I’ve ever only seen this phenomena in Ypsi. Please someone, explain?

Dirtgrain, my son of 14 just moved in with me from his moms in Warren and transfered to Ypsilanti High School…. he was having a lot of trouble in his old school but is doing well at Ypsi High and likes his teachers. He even said he thinks the kids are nicer in Ypsi then in Warren.

Dirtgrain, there have been some pretty good conversations here lately about the state of Ypsi elementary schools. Here’s a link to the most recent one:

And that’s weird about your seeing an eagle, Oliva. My cousin’s husband just sent me some photos of a bald eagle in Kentucky. I wonder if it has something to do with global warming…

  18. Posted March 14, 2010 at 12:37 pm | Permalink

And, speaking of Ypsi schools, did anyone catch the story a few days ago about the 1st grader who, having fallen asleep on the bus on his way home from school, found himself locked inside the bus, at the bus depot?

I’ve seen eagles in the sky above Ypsi a few times over the years, and am told that there is, or has been, a nesting pair in a woods not so far from town. So Olivia’s sighting is credible. They’ve made quite come back!

“During Michigan winters, bald eagles are seen throughout the state (almost all counties), while they nest mainly in the Upper Peninsula (especially the western portion) and the northern portion of the Lower Peninsula. These eagles don’t really migrate, they just move south enough to stay ahead of the ice and congregate near open water. Immature birds may move further south. ”

For Freaking 20 minutes now there have been a parade of freakin idiots driving around the post office and downtown honking over and over and over again! Signs in their cars say, “Honk if you are against health care takeover”
AGAINST AND HEALTH CARE are in bold so at first glance it seemed to say, “Honk against health care”. (they spelled health care as one word too)

Fuck them, all of the idiots that waste time protesting abortion and against Health care – fuck them all. Just had to drop my care because of costs. So fuck them.

Sorry about all the fucks – I was home with a chest cold napping and the idiots woke me up and reminded that I could be doomed if it turns into “freakin” pneumonia.
I think they all should have gotten some kind of ticket…unlawful parade, disturbing the peace…hell the city could have made a ton of money today writing tickets for all of them.

“Sorry about all of the fucks” would make a great greeting card.

And don’t worry about it, Uncool Kid. Sometimes a good, long string of fucks is warranted.

I hope you feel well soon.

P.S. You should have gone over and coughed in their faces.
