Alma Wheeler Smith for Governor

I just received an email from State Representative Alma Wheeler Smith, alerting me to the fact that she’s attempting another run for Governor. I plan to send her a list of questions, in hopes that she’ll answer them for the site. If you have questions that you would like to have considered, just leave a comment.

I would ask her about mass transit and what she’s done to date to speed along the A2-Detroit line.

Also, of course, we’d want to know what vision she has, if any, for the future of the automotive industry in Michigan?

    And the film incentives.

    And our failing public schools.

I don’t mean this in a mean way, but I’d ask her why her last campaign for governor failed, and what she learned from the experience.

Nothing else? That’s it? No more questions for the woman who could become Governor of the most depressed state in the union? Nothing on foreclosures, union busting, the stimulus plan, etc?

Hard to say, Mark. Our state government has done so little for so long, maybe it just doesn’t occur to us to look there for any answers any more. Maybe we’re all sick of over-long political campaigns. We just ended the most horrific campaign in history. Two freakin’ years?!! Check back with us next year. Politicians should probably just leave us all the hell alone for a while.

Hi everyone, I just learned about this message board… It looks like a nice group, so thanks for letting me in!

Everyone ready for the 2009-2010 bowl games? This season has been one of the most drama-filled football years that I remember… if you’ve ever had an argument for an 8-team playoff, this year is the case.

And how about that Alma Wheeler?

I own a small business in the Dallas area (Denton, TX) and I am interested in this candidate you call Alma Wheeler Smith. What can you tell me about her?

The response to national disaster is great but it’s a real shame that so many citizens take advantage of the negative situations.

I mean everytime there is an earthquake, a flood, an oil spill – there’s always a group of heartless people who rip off tax payers.

This is in response to reading that 4 of Oprah Winfreys “angels” got busted ripping off the system. Shame on them!

    Wow Check out this rumor…..

ABC will announce Monday that TLC reality star Kate Gosselin and Alma will be among the hoofers on the next round of “Dancing With the Stars,” according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

At press time, the deal was virtually done for the now-divorced mother of eight and the candidate for Governor of Michigan to become two of the celebrities vying for the cheesetastic Mirrored Disco Ball.

    Will you Watch?
