This photo was taken on a South Carolina beach a few days ago, on the occasion of Clementine’s fourth birthday. The quote is something that she said yesterday to Linette. She can be a handful at times, but she’s an amazing little girl, and we’re anxious to see what kinds of real things she’s got in store for us.

4 is pretty awesome.
have a blast.
She needs siblings. Or don’t you really believe in the future?
I just finished reading “The Road.” The last thing on my mind is making babies.
I’m pretty sure four is the best year of our lives. Old enough to do real things, but not old enough to have to go to school and do the real things you really don’t want to do.
Oh. And it’s good to know that S.C. has paved all their beaches. Maybe it’s time I go back. Takes care of the old sand in the shorts chaffing that always sends me wobbling saddlesore from the sandy shore.
Happy B-Day to Clementine. Old enough for preschool. Have you checked out the High/Scope demonstration preschool. She could pursue her desire to do real things in a child friendly environment.
The photo was taken just seconds before she threw a shovel full of sand in man’s eyes and then proceeded to break both his kneecaps in quick succession. She was heard to say, “How’s This For Real?”
I’ve been away far too long (temporarily having a web affair with Ravelry and a dalliance with Facebook). But THIS, and all before and after it, reminds me why I should be here more often.
Hugs to the amazing, real-things-doing Clementine.
After hearing she’s making comments like that, all I can say is: buckle your seat belt, Mark. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride. *grin* (You go, Clementine!)
