A few days ago, in a post about YouTube, I asked for your help locating a video clip of the Ramones on “Live with Regis and Kathy Lee” in the mid 80’s. While none of you have come forward with leads on that particular piece of film, I did come close. A reader by the name of Kevin just sent this link to an appearance by Husker Du on the Joan River’s show. (They’re on right before the 85 year old marathon runner.)
Next, I’m going to listen to Tom Verlaine playing guest DJ on NPR’s “All Songs Considered”, and watch Daryl Hannah’s new environmental podcast.
I’ve got a ton of stuff that I need to do, but I can’t stop procrastinating.

Verlaine may burst any knowledge bubble we had of his eccentric tastes. But it’s a decent interview by an obvious fanboy.
Marquee Moon has to be in my top ten records of all time… One of these days, when I have the time, I’ll post the other nine. It’d be a lot of work to come up with a list, but it’s probably something worth thinking about.
And you’re right, Leighton, the interviewer was clearly in love with Verlaine… almost frighteningly so.
yeah, it was great to hear from Tom. There’s a line on his new CD about the girl who just stopped talking and sometimes I think that applies to Tom himself. Even when he was at the Pig with the re-formed Television he didn’t seem to want to unleash his fantastic guitar talent, letting that smarmy Lloyd do all his much more obvious rock style leads. By the way that other clip from YouTube you wrote about if from a dvd called Television: The Loft Rehearsals and it really makes you understand why they had to kick Hell out of the band — he was too fucked up to follow Verlaine’s genius music — I’ll lend it to you Mark if you bark like a dog…
“Woof.”
OK, where’s the fucking DVD?
(And, UBU, do I know you? I was just looking at your artwork, and I think that I do. Might you be a store owner in Ann Arbor?)
well, duh. I mean doesn’t everyone who reads this blog know you (i.e. feel sorry for you)? Besides it says right on my microsoft profile that I’m a merchant fron Ann Arbor who enjoys ball shaving and doing the hokey pokey….
