beware the fate of narcissus

Clementine, who just turned 14-months old today, was walking around the house this morning (yes, she’s walking now), when she discovered a relic from our house’s previous owner – a big, full-length mirror nailed to a closet door. (I had boxes stacked in front of it for the past few months.) She spent hours dancing around in front of it like an old southern woman at a Pentecostal tent revival. Linette called me in with the camera saying, “Our daughter’s made a new best friend – herself.” I wish I had video to post. It’s a lot better when you can hear her lips smacking as she kisses her reflection, and see her rubbing her belly against its mirror image, laughing like a lunatic… It was amazing.

The other day I was walking down the hill on Cross when I passed Linette coming up the hill with Clementine.
Fast forward a few hours later, I’m going up the hill and Linette and Clementine are coming down.

I don’t know what this story has to do with anything, but I just found it totally crazy!

Probably just an illusion from too much time spent here on the site, Brian. I wouldn’t worry about it.

I’d take a little Arun over a little Paris Hilton any day.
