I haven’t written about it here in a while, but our work has been continuing on the Ypsi Sentinel, the local community journalism project that me and other local bloggers have been working diligently (and occasionally drunkenly) to get off the ground. If you’re interested in finding out more, and maybe even joining us in our effort to bring grassroots journalism to Ypsi, our next public meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday evening, at 7:00, at Aubree’s. An agenda can be found (and edited, if necessary) at the Spitting Cat wiki site… If you’re thinking about coming, just let me know so I can be sure to grab a big enough table.
And, in the meantime, if you’re curious as to the potential of citizen reporting, check out these local stories presently being covered by my fellow Ypsi bloggers:
– Coleus on An Early Morning Basement Fire on W. Cross St.
– Ypsi-Dixit on The Danger Our Historic Hydro Facility is Facing. (For more information, like what it’s going to cost us to demolish the beautiful, old building, see Part 1.)
– East Cross on The New Slumlord at the Parkview Apartments.
