I think that some of you in the Seattle area might be interested in seeing a play entitled The Center of Gravity. It was written by a friend of mine, a Mr. Gregory Hischak. You might know him as a contributor to Crimewave. In addition to being an internationally recognized poet and Etch-a-Sketch artist, hes also the man behind the well-folded and perplexing little magazine Farm Pulp. Here are some details concerning his award-winning play:

Richard Hugo House and Golden Fish Theatre will present a staged reading of Gregory Hischaks award-winning play, THE CENTER OF GRAVITY, at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 7.
Hugo House is at 1634 11th Ave., in Seattles Capitol Hill neighborhood. Admission is by $5 donation at the door.
Invention, creation, betrayal, and disenchantment: THE CENTER OF GRAVITY is an in-development meditation alternately employing mechanical engineering, magic realism, and a bit of Abbot & Costello. Follow the exploits of two mechanically inclined brothers from Dayton Ohio, Wilbur and Orville Wright, who came this close (thumb and index finger together) to inventing a flying machine.
Behind every great pair of brothers theres a woman tearing them apart and behind every great invention lay the embarrassing wreckage of a dozen failures.
A panel of Northwest theater professionals selected THE CENTER OF GRAVITY from more than 40 original, unproduced and full-length plays submitted by playwrights in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho and Alaska to be this years Hugo Houses New Plays Competition winner. The reading will be staged by members of the Golden Fish Theatre Company and directed by Artistic Director Cynthia White.
