I’m a day late with this news, but apparently Sherri Shepherd, the newest member of the Barbara Walters gabfest, “The View,” shocked some viewers earlier in the week when, after declaring that she didn’t “believe in evolution, period,” admitted that she didn’t know whether our planet was round or flat. It’s an amazing piece of video to see. If nothing else, it makes me feel a bit less bad for us humans as we face extinction. If this is what we have to show for ourselves after all this time, we deserve to sink back into the muck what brung us and give another life form a chance on top.
[If you’d like to leave Sherri a note of encouragement, her website has a chat page.]

The best way to defeat the Creationists is just to let them open their mouths and talk.
Heh. She might have extracted herself from looking like a dumbass by saying she was confused about whether the question was about the physical shape of the planet or the metaphoric “shape” of the global socio-econo-political situation in the Thomas Friedman sense. But she didn’t.
I saw this up on You tube the other day and I couldn’t even get through the sheer stupidity of the first two minutes.
Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Walters talking about evolution. Count me out.
You are wicked, wicked men and I will not stand by while you tear down Sherri the way you tore down Kathy Lee before her. She is doing the work of our Lord.
I’m looking out my window here on the 41st floor of the Penobscot Building in downtown Detroit, and it looks pretty flat to me . . .
You sure about this, Mark?
I’ll bet 20% of the people that frequent THIS SITE don’t know the earth is a sphere. Wanna take me up on that one, Cousins Vinyl.
