dingell on global warming

Congressman Dingell, the subject of our recent petition drive, just sent out the following global warming update to his constituents:

The threat of global climate change is one that impacts not only citizens of Michigan, but populations from every corner of the world. That is why I am working hard to spearhead a movement in Washington that would reduce carbon emissions by sixty to eighty percent by the year 2050.

During the August recess, I met with many of you at town halls in Ann Arbor and Dearborn to discuss the issue of global warming. In addition to working on an economy wide cap-and-trade plan, I am also working on legislation that would create a carbon tax. Some of you might remember from our discussion, my plan would:
