I just got done watching “Deadwood” (the best quote this episode had to be, “go wash your mouth… you’ve got seven kinds of cock breath”) and now I’m busily at work on my new comic for The Ann Arbor Paper with the sounds of turn-of-the-century wax cylinders buzzing in my ears.
NOTE: If you decide to follow that last link, be sure to check out the 1878 recording of the “talking clock”. It’s absolutely amazing, and I have every intention of ripping it off for my “Sounds from Earth” project.

Very nice! That talking clock is wonderful. For a visual equivalent (early film attempts and optical toys), see http://web.inter.nl.net/users/anima

The fact that the man who invented the lead cylinder shares his name with patrick duffy’s character from the acclaimed ABC comedy step by step further proves my theory that all good things come back to patrick duffy.
Yes! Patrick Duffy had webbed fingers on “The Man From Atlantis” and now we have the World Wide Web! I can’t believe I’d never thought of that before. It was right in front of me all the time!
And I will follow those links immediately, Doug. Thank you.
Is Scope mouthwash still using the “For all 7 kinds of cock breath” slogan? I haven’t seen the commercial since Christmas.
did they really talk like that in the Wild West?
Fuck, yeah, you cock smoking whore.
