“Please, President Bush, I’m begging you, as a good Christian, to do what in your heart you know is right… For the good of everyone desperately clinging to life in New Orleans and along the entire Gulf Coast – please cut taxes.”

A great photo at the Daily Kos site of our fearless leader posing for a photo-op in front of two parked Coast Guard helicopters which could have otherwise been assisting in the relief efforts. Fucking disgusting.

wait, “please cut taxes”? I don’t get it. Please explain.
I think Mark’s being sarcastic about the only action this administration seems to take in a crisis.
Yeah, Matt’s right. I was being sarcastic. This administration takes advantage of every terrible thing that happens in this country in order to lower taxes on the wealthy. 9/11 – lower taxes. War in Iraq – lower taxes. High unemployment – lower taxes. Faltering economy – lower taxes. It’s fucking bullshit.
yes please raise taxes, that will surely stimulate investment
Sorry mark unemployment hit 4.9% yesterday.. When Clinton was president that was prosperous.. Interesting how its reported now. I wonder if lowering taxes had anything to do with that…
john galt, you dumb fuck. you need remedial english. you can’t use apostrophes and you’re a fucking idiot. the country is being divided into below poverty level and the upper and upper middle classes. the jobs available are burger flipping—the rest have gone overseas. i see it in my community all of the time. my son-in-law had to move to arkansas to find a job in his field because his was outsourced to india. his new job paid 30k less than the old one. his masters degree in computer science didn’t help much.
John, dare we ask what your sentiment is regarding the unfolding of this disaster. Just a little morbid curiosity, that’s all.
And please don’t use the “n” word, John.
Guess what? I wasn’t too far off…. Here’s a headline from ThinkProgress:
“Despite Katrina, Frist Will Call Vote on Estate Tax Repeal”

Don’t worry, victims of Katrina, wealthy people are investing their ancestor’s money as we speak. That should ease some of your suffering.
