Recalling The Beatles’ historic 1969 rooftop performance of Let It Be in London, three quarters of our local Talking Heads cover band (I forget what they call themselves) took to the roof of our local all-nude strip club during Totally Awesome Fest… My hands were pretty shaky, due to the excitement, so the footage isn’t all that great, but I felt as though tis documentation should exist online.

I don’t know that the guy was a psycho killer necessarily, but this post reminds me of that guy caught crawling through the ceiling of Deja Vu.
Nice work, Ypsilanti. You have renewed my hope.
great videos, Mark! i shot a ton of pictures, but the sound quality of my digital camera is pretty meh so i didn’t bother trying to get anything other than a short clip of the amoeba kids set.
the name of this band is THIS MUST BE THE PLACE, fyi.
It’s all backwards. The bands should be inside, on the stage of the old Martha Washington Theater, and the strippers should be on the roof.
I’m imagining them climbing up there on a ladder of naked strippers.
If you’re willing to lend it out, I could really use a ladder of naked women for some home improvement projects my wife’s suggested.
Just to be completely accurate…the performance took place on the roof of AM 1700.
Also known as Club Pierce.
Not to be picky, but I would have preferred “Burning Down the House” being played inside of the burned out husk of the Thompson building.
Maybe next time.
What a great resource got Pat Elkins related information!
