shadow art fair III: july 14, 2007

OK, we’ve officially set the date for the next Shadow Art Fair. It will be Saturday, July 14th, at Ypsilanti’s Corner Brewery. So, put it on your calendar. It’ll run from noon to midnight, and, as always, there will be free water (unlike at the Ann Arbor Art Fair, which will be held the following weekend). Most of the details can be found in the press release we just issued, if you want to know more.

Those of you who aspire to be one of the forty-some creative types to have your work featured in the show, should fill out an application and submit it by April 14. In the interest of fairness and keeping things diverse, we are asking that everyone, even those who participated in previous Shadow Art Fairs, submit an application. It’s not terribly difficult, no money is required up-front, and we promise to let you know whether or not you’ve been accepted by May 1.

Also of interest to some of you will be the fact that this time our poster design competition has a $50 prize attached. So, if you’ve got mad Illustrator skillz, give it a shot. You could have your design screen-printed by the internationally renowned VG Kids and posted all over SE Michigan. You’ll also get $50, a few copies of the poster for yourself, and, if you’re of age, a free beer or two. For details on how to enter, click here.

There will also, most likely, be performance component. Those of you who are interested in finding out more, just let me know, and I’ll put you in touch with Tim. (Linette hates the idea, but I’m thinking we could structure it like a big talent show, with kids singing, the elderly tap dancing, and maybe even someone doing impressions. I’m sure Tim has something less painful in mind though.)

So, put July 14 on your calendars… Seriously, even if it’s only a fraction of what the earlier ones were, it’ll kick ass.
