An item from the “Police Beat” in today’s “Ann Arbor News”:
Ypsilanti Police investigated a report of shots fired into a home Wednesday night, according to reports.
Officers went to a home in the 400 block of Cross Street at 9:19 p.m. after a resident reported seeing a red laser shining through a window followed by what sounded like a fire cracker. The resident saw broken glass and noticed a hole in the drywall. No one was injured.
Officers did not locate any suspects in the area, reports said.
Am I the only one that thinks that maybe the existence of what could be a sniper with a laser site probably warrants a little better coverage than about 50 words buried on page A5 of the Local section?

I can only assume it was the 400 block of E. Cross, and it was an assassination attempt on councilman Robb by the folks at Edwards Communities.
The reason it was buried in the paper is because the A2 News stubbornly refuses to cover Robb, due to his loyalty to the Courier.
The weirdest thing about all of this is that after it happened, Alexander Haig called me and said, “I’m in control here.”
It’s a LAWNET thing – you wouldn’t understand.
ok…. I take back what I said about feeling completely safe in Ypsi.
Maybe I’ll head over to the office of the “Courrier” later and ask them what kind of coverage they have planned… Oh, that’s right, our local paper no longer has a local office…. Oh, well, I’m sure it was nothing anyway.
I saw the light … it came from a grassy knoll near Frog Island.
You can get a laser gunsight at Cabela’s for $149. It’s more if you want the Tactical Light/Laser Sight Combo. “Mounts to most any side-mount Glock…”
You can probably get them for less on e-Bay.
I forgot to mention, if you’re a high roller you can get the HogHunter laser sight for $329. Really. Check their web site.
I really do hope this is an isolated incident. The last thing Ypsi needs right now is a sniper.
