My wife and I are addicted to 24. Thanks to Netflix, we are watching 2-3 episodes per night. After Comedy Central’s Daily Show and Colbert Report, we have dinner and watch Jack Bauer threaten to poke out people’s eyes, kill his co-workers with dedicated skill, and squeeze wounded terrorists where it hurts.
Why isn’t Jack Bauer sent to Iraq?
For that matter, why hasn’t Jack Bauer been hired by the citizens of Ypsilanti to take care of the jail overcrowding situation, or Water Street, or polluting landlords?
I’m sorry, I’ve completely lost the theme of this post by something EgP said. “After … the Colbert Report, we have dinner.”
My parent-of-two-year-old self is befuddled; is there still a place in this world where adults have dinner after midnight?

Dear OEC … a repeat of the previous day’s shows are aired around 8ish … which is a suitable dinnerish time. Sorry to have befuddled your temporarily ritualized parental consciousness.
BTW … I kept thinking all day today about how Jack Bauer could get the truth out of “Scooter” and the “VP” … if we’d only turn’im loose on those two scoundrels. Be fun to watch while sucking on a drippin’ juicy rack’o’ribs.
My favorite Jack Bauer moment was a few seasons ago when he sawed the head of a government informer just because he knew it would get him into a meeting with the head of a drug cartel… Oh, I also like how he was “forced” to shoot his boss execution style… So many great moments.
