When will the miracles cease? First there was the unmasking of America’s foremost evangelical, Ted Haggard, as an over-sexed, drug-fueled hypocrite. Then, on Tuesday, the despicable Rick Santorum got voted out of the U.S. Senate by the good people of Pennsylvania. And, now it looks as though Becky Fischer’s American madrasah, “Jesus Camp,” is closing its doors. I know we’re not out of the woods yet, but it’s damned good to see the American people (and perhaps God himself) finally standing up against these fanatics that have so shamelessly twisted the teachings of Christianity in pursuit of power… One wonders what might be next.

If what she’s saying is true, Jesus Camp is closing because she fears for her life and those of the children she’s ministering to. If that’s the case, it shouldn’t be something that we celebrate. I have my doubts, however, as to who might be responsible for the vandalism at their Devil’s Lake site. (And how odd is it that this thing takes place on the shores of Devil’s Lake?) My guess is that the vandalism is being done by former graduates of the program. Of course, I suck at being a detective. (I thought that it was the actress’s husband that hung her.)
As for the next shoe to fall, I think it will involved Dobson getting caught with his hand in the till.
And Liberty University in my mind has always be synonymous
