pinky for free

One of my favorite authors, Daniel Pinkwater, is releasing his most recent novel, “The Neddiad,” one chapter at a time, over the web, for free. (The first chapter can be found here.)

For the sad few who aren’t already familiar with Pinkwater, you can check out my interview with him (from Crimewave #6) here.

Simply the sound of his voice on NPR makes me smile. Simple, simple, simple stories. And so honestly human.

Does anyone know the status of the “Fat Guys from Space” film project? I think it’s stalled, and I’m OK with that. My fear is that if it’s made, it’ll be done poorly. I’m picturing it as a Jim Belushi vehicle and it makes me want to cry.
