This guy named Jep, who’s been following my band, The Monkey Power Trio, for the past decade or so, has just launched a podcast, and the inaugural episode is, for the most part, about us. Now that I’ve listened to it, I wish that I hadn’t… There’s a certain kind of sadness that washes over you when you realize that your band’s biggest fan has been listening to 75% of your stuff at the wrong speed all these years.

(I didn’t mention it in the post itself, but there’s a song that Jep includes in his podcast that we’ve since striken from the historic record (at the request of an attorney). If you have to listen, please cover your ears when you hear the name “Fatty Arbuckle” and keep them covered for two minutes.)

I wonder if it’s ever happened to anyone else that their biggest fan was actually just somone listening to something completely different. It’s like Spinal Tap, only more pathetic.
