nix-bush

Internet chatter seems to indicate that more and more people, on both sides of the aisle, are coming to accept the liklihood of a serious investigation into the possible impeachment of President Bush. MoveOn, in hopes of catalyzing a movement to see this accomplished, has just launched a new ad campaign focusing on the similarities between Bush and Nixon. (I grabbed this terrifying image mid-morph.) One wonders in what ways the grassroots will begin to push this idea forward in the real world. Maybe we’ll start seeing more yard signs pop up, or perhaps we’ll start seeing more towns around America following the example of Newfane, Vermont and seeking local resolutions to support impeachment. (Thanks to Eric Jordan in Portland for that last link.)

    Isn’t that image creepy?

I like the idea of several coordinated public actions taking place across the US at roughly the same time.

Maybe it could be as simple as just having everyone say “Impeach Bush” at the same time.

The ad is potent. Will it be allowed to play anywhere?

The Nixon quote in the ad is great… “It can’t be illegal if the President is doing it.”

It’s truly a sad day for America when I can hear an outragled Richard Nixon spinning in his grave.

I’ve got dial-up so I won’t actually download the video- but I was curious, though, if when the face morphs do they play “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson, or the theme to the “Transformers” cartoon?

    Either would be good.

No, nothing that cool, Brett… not even the muzak version of Bowie’s Changes. It’s just some ominous kind of low organ drone.
