uncle sam has seen better days

(Photo courtesy of Steve Cherry, who, knowing all my passwords and such, was apparenlty able to sneak in and upload it without my knowledge… From now on, whenever you see something that you don’t like here – like disgusting references to monkey taints – just assume that it was Steve’s doing.)

Actually, Steve didn’t hack me. He was doing me a favor, testing the system out to see why I hadn’t been able to post photos for the past few days. This was the image he used to test it out, and I liked it… What made it particularly weird is the fact that I saw a very similar looking man that very afternoon lying on a sidewalk in Ann Arbor. (I’m not sure where this photo was taken.)

Mark, I think I know the bum you’re talking about. He asked me for some money one day and I tried to offer him some food (sushi) which he turned down because it wasn’t crunchy.

The next day I saw him smoking pot with another bum in an alley.

The guy that I saw was on Maynard Street and I believe he was wearing blue. He was on the ground, kind of writhing slowly around, and there were about five people surrounding him, talking to him. I was on the other side of the street, and, as it looked like they had things pretty well in hand, I kept going.

This guy looks more like Dr. Jacoby from Twin Peaks.

I really like that images. He looks like a boxer who’s down but still throwing punches because they don’t yet know they’re flat on their back.

He also kind of reminds me of Han Solo in carbonite.

Which reminds me of Han Solo in carbonite made entirely out of legos.

I thought it was Kris Kristofferson. Is it Kris Kristofferson?

Hey Mark. I saw this picture and thought you might be able to use it. It shows a TRex attacking the last supper. This would make a great book cover for an intelligent design textbook.

I keep thinking about making a Han Solo in carbonite ouot of butter for the Michigan State Fiar but I never have the time… As for the guy in the photo, it looks like he’s enjoying himself, like he’s laying on one of those coin-operated vibrating beds.

And thanks for the image, Dan. I’m sure I’ll be able to use it somewhere.

And I still think it looks like Russ Tamblyn (Dr. Jacoby from Twin Peaks).

Russ Tamblyn looks sort of like Leo McKern: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_McKern
