My friend Kez, who also happens to have OCD, like me, is selling his pristine collection of parking claim tags from the Warhol Museum lot in Pittsburgh… I tought that I’d help out by throwing up a link.
I think that Warhol would have liked it.
Here’s what Kez has to say about the tickets:
– this collection was for one specific parking space only.
– each ticket is crisp & clean and they’re all sealed in a ziplock bag.
– these tickets must be sold. i cannot throw them away.
(And, if you’re looking for a way to cash in on your OCD, send me a note. I might be able to help you too.)

Your friend might consider donating the tickets to the museum itself. He could possibly convince them to add it to the archives. But since the lot isn’t run by the museum, maybe not.
I also have OCD, and have been saving my urine in jugs for the past 20 years. Now, I’m thinking about putting the whole urine jug-filled warehouse up for sale and using the money to retire. Would you please help me coordinate the auction?
Tony, is this true? Or are…or not?
I’d really like to buy just one of the parking claim tickets.
Steven, I’ll go in 50-50 with you on buying one, and then we can rip it in two and each keep half.
I don’t know if Tony’s telling the truth, Chris, but my 401K consists of a Maxwell’s House can filled to the brim with toe jam. Once I convert it over to cash, I’ll be on easy street.
i don’t work there, but there are some cool benefits to working across the street from the andy warhol museum… in august i got to see/hear john waters entertain a group of film students in the lobby while the theatre premired a threesome of this early films….. and last month grispin glover was there in the theatre as well showing off his strange new movie “what is it?”. i got close enough to ask john waters for his autogragh – to actually have him sign one of my pristine warhol parking claim tickets – but when i opened my mouth i froze… anxiety… i was so afraid i would say something like “your films suck” so i said nothing. those of you who do not have OCD or anxiety would not understand, but maybe mark does. warhol himself had a crazy compulsion to save every scrap of paper in boxes, now known as his time capsules….
Are the parking reciepts in ascending order by their number?
I don’t know if this is bothering anyone else, but in the photo for the auction the 100 tickets are in three piles. I assume two of 33 and one of 34.
That had occurred to me too, Steve, but I was trying not to think about it. The stacks are also a buit untidy, but I suspect he had to do that in order to give the impression that there were quite of few of them… Also, not to criticize Kez, but if it were my auction, I would have included an image of the parking space in question.
I would have included a hundred pictures of my car, one for every time it was parked in the space, each with an inset detail so you can see the number on the ticket.
I like it, Brett… In fact, I’ll go one step further… I’d include an hour-long podcast recorded inside the car as it sat there, in that space, each day.
I’d include a full-sized hologram of the car, driven by chuck wagner.
