oh, yeah, we’re pretty fucked

What does it mean when the top law enforcement official in the country refuses to be sworn in under oath before testifying in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on the President’s use of the National Security Agency to spy on Americans?

There’s no way that’s a good thing, right? I mean, pretty much what it says, at least to me, is, “Hey, I’m lying to you.” I thought it was bad enough when the administration’s point person on mining safety just got up and walked out of the Senate committee that he was testifying in front of a few weeks ago, but this has to top it. I think this is the point where I finally have to accept that we aren’t tethered to reality anymore. Nope. We’re through the looking glass, where truth is in the eye of the administration – facts and logic be damned.

And how about this new assertion that the President has the power to have people executed on U.S. soil without so much as the courtesy of a show trial? Of course, trials aren’t really necessary when Dear Leader has perfect clarity when it comes to the discerning of the truth. So, it just stands to reason that if we kill someone without a trial, that person has to have been a terrorist, right? I love the beauty of circular logic…

And how better to wrap up this post than with video of a California cop shooting an unarmed man three times in the street for following the orders he’d been given. (The audio seems to indicate that the cop tells the man to “get up” off the ground, and then, when he starts to do so, he gets shot three times at point-blank range… It’s also worth noting that the citizen who shot the video reports being pulled over three times in a twelve-hour period after turning the tape over to investigators. He feels as though these were acts of intimidation and that the police were looking for something, each time that they searched his car, to use as leverage against him… But, I guess that’s what we need to get used to, seeing as how we seem committed to transitioning this country of ours into a police state where the rights of the individual are essentially non-existent.)

Yup, we’re pretty well fucked.

Hasn’t the president always had that power (execution)? Look at the Branch Davidians.

Ha ha. Wake up you MF’ers. Here is the true face of your “democracy”. Too bad the American public is mesmerized by the glitter of THE SUPERBOWL to give a damn about anything else.

This country is too big and diverse to be run by a democracy. It’s an oligarchic empire in the clothing of a republic. The difference between the US, the USSR and China is the color of the flag and that’s it. The average US citizen has no more personal freedom than those other places.

Go ahead and flame me if you must, but you know I’m right!

    “Why do you hate America?”

Oh, Tony Buttons, everybody knows you’re a Christ hater. These feeble attempts at misdirection fool nobody.

I don’t remember if Christ had to swear any oaths. Christ = Bush = America (real Americans, anyway) = capitalism = money. The Bushies speak the Truth. Why the hell would they have to swear in? Their truth is money. “Money doesn’t talk; it swears.” They keep swearing at us, and too many of us are taking it as gospel.

Down with the oligarchy! (he said as he ran naked into the human void). Maybe we cannot free ourselves from within the corrupted system. The system of checks and balances has been perverted. In its place we have Washington D.C. ceremonies, governmental charades, that only aid the money grubbers in their attempts to maintain power.

The more they flaunt the system and surprise themselves as they get away with it, the more powerful and limitless they become. What’s next?

We’ll REALLY be fucked when they haul you and your family out of your home for writing this and shoot you in the street. Sure, that day is closer, but it’s not quite here.

Collin’s absolutely right. We shouldn’t be concerned until there are death squads in the streets.

OK Yeah Wow…it is totally out of control. I can’t even comment as much as I used to. I was thinking that maybe a good approach to organizing a demonstration is to somehow get people to not shop…nothing…just food and non-processed at that. Like maybe one day every month, than one day every other week.

Fuck it, I give up. Please show me the baby eating line or as a commentor stated on another blog said, “at this point they could rape their children and kill their wives and no one would give a shit”. Do you think babies taste like chicken?

And Shanster, I guess I have to just come out and ask it, “are you a Bush and his administration supporter? Or some kind of trite devil’s advocate.” And also, just to be perfectly clear I do NOT proof my comments so save you red pencil.

And Cammer, motherfucker aside, I would not flame you as I pretty much agree with you at this point.

    chris-
I have formally sworn off correcting your English, as I think I offended you back in December. In general I’m a conservative, so that makes me a Bush Admin. supporter, but not blindly so. Who you callin’ trite? I prefer pithy and androit.

“androit”? Is that like a nimble robot? And, for the record, I never said we shouldn’t be concerned. We just aren’t “fucked” yet. I would say we are still in the heavy petting stage with fingers working at the bra of freedom and slipping past the waistband of the panties of privacy.

Please allow the man his typos no matter who he votes for…or how many babies he eats.

Just kidding, about the typos that is.

No seriously, just kidding about the baby eating thing.

Good God did anyone see Gonzales the other night on Stewert? I think his behavior is tantamount to Lewinski’s blowjob. He should be so fucking embarressed. I mean, I am surprised he manged to even get the words, “cannot discuss as it compromises national security” out as he should of had lockjaw from the amount of Bush paste he appears to have sucked since his appointment.
