bailout bill with something for everyone passes the senate

It looks like the Senate is passing a bailout bill. Word is that the amendment was approved 74 to 25, with both Obama and McCain voting in favor.

You can read the 451-page bill, which, if you can believe it, now includes landmark mental health legislation, here.

I’m dubious.

If it passes the house, it’d be a great time to start that urban farm and/or befriend other farmers close by, if you haven’t already. There may be a good window of opportunity while the bubble gets reinflated for a short time, but before investor confidence drops to zero, along with the dollar, and foreign countries stop loaning to us. Pop.

Even if I’m just some paranoid alarmist freak, which I’ve been in the past, it’s still good advice for any number of reasons.

You know, in case of zombies.

And look who’s benefiting the most – the company that Treasury Secretary Paulson was until recently the head of:

Well, a part of me is glad it passed, so we can find out if I’m full of shit or not.

If not, you can be sure I’ll “I-told-you-so” heartily but sorrowfully.

If so, a hearty, sorrowful laugh at my expense.
