john edwards endorses barack obama

[Can someone tell me why, of all places, this happened in Grand Rapids, Michigan?]

The fact that he's in Michigan, and not in one of the coming primary states, tells me that he's no longer running against Hillary, but McCain.

And he needs working class whites.

I guess I answered my own question.

Sorry.

I got impatient.

Well, here's one lifelong Michigan Republican from a family of Michigan Republicans that hopes McCain gets his neocon ass handed to him and every unprincipled knucklehead who votes for him cries for 4-8 years. Cheers.

Am I the only one who thinks it sounded like Edwards was auditioning for the VP spot?

I figured it happened in Grand Rapids since GR is more conservative than the Detroit area (generally), and he's going to need to get more than metro Detroit to vote for him to take the state.

It was a great move by Obama. The press today would have been all about Hillary, her win in West Virginia, and Obama's problem with working class whites. Instead, we're talking about Edwards.

I have no idea why it happened in Michigan, other than he's going to have to win here in November. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of him.

Grand Rapids is home to Amway whose core product was soap. Soap is also a protocol for XML-based messages over HTTP. XML can contain both "significant whitespace," and "insignificant whitespace." Insignificant whitespace is used to ease human readability, while significant whitespace is intended to be preserved by XML processors because it is, well, significant to the meaning of the data. Both Edwards and Obama know that the four allowable whitespace characters are the carriage return (\r or ch(13)), the linefeed (\n or ch(10)), the tab(\t), and the spacebar (' '). It is the spacebar they are trying to emphasize here. Users typically only use their right thumb to press it, HOWEVER, it is large enough so that a thumb from either hand can use it easily. The thumb has two phalanges rather than three which is something Edwards had been campaigning on earlier in the race. Obama paced himself and up until recently has only campaigned on five phalanges. Yesterday, he used the Edwards endorsement to show the American people that he is ready to "take it up a notch". This is part of their long term plan of action designed to achieve a win in November.

So you were partially correct about the "white" part, but actually not very close.

OEC, I had the same thought. Or maybe it was to get inside Hillary's head that she should drop out and cut a deal to get VP and her debts relieved, before she loses the chance to get the nomination or the veep or to get 20 mill out of the hole.

At the beginning of the primaries, I really thought the perfect combination would be Edwards as president and Obama as VP. With that combination I figured Obama would get the experience that he was being criticized for not having and the democrats could potentially keep the executive branch for sixteen years. If I had a second choice though, having Edwards as VP would be it.

Jim. I knew there was a reason I loved your sandwiches ... always the perfect combination.

CV. Yup. Seems to me though that if Obama did run with Clinton it would be an weak admission of how divided the party really is. I think McCain and friends would lap it up. An Obama/Clinton ticket may unify the party, but would, I predict, lose the election (offering swing voters something for every taste to hate). At this point in the postseason, I think McDyess/Prince have a better shot at the oval office.

Ha! Yeah, there you go! Although I'd rather see a Chauncey/Rasheed ticket...

I think Edwards just wanted to visit Grand Rapids really bad. I don't think he even realized Obama was going to be there.

Edwards said he has absolutely no interest in the VP. Hmmm...what about Bill Richardson?

Edwards might be looking for Attorney General, but Obama would have to be crazy to make a promise like that at this point.
