I just noticed this at the Ypsi Skatepark a few minutes ago. I suspect someone not from around here is responsible… Anyway, it made me happy to see that two people chose to accept the positivity into their lives.
Or, now that I think about it, maybe someone just ripped them off to write IOUs and license plate numbers on.
[For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t let Clementine take one.]

It reminds me of Pepperland, with its “Yes” and “Know” monuments. Only done on the cheap, Ypsi style.
Take a straight and stronger course to the corner of your life.
Make the white queen run so fast she hasn’t got time to make you wise.
I have to ask. Why wouldn’t you let her take one?
Marriage proposal.
The two missing tabs said, “I don’t know…”, and, “let me think about it.”

I appreciate the flier, and would have taken a YES…and I am far from being optimistic person, but sometime you need to remind yourself to stay positive. As the red queen says “Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!”
it just goes to show that the inspirational spirit of ypsilantians will NOT be kept down, that even in hard times people in our great city will look for hope & making a positive change in their community…. its called the american dream & it is still very much alive ! have a great weekend everyone.
Yeah. I get it, positive and all that.
Good. But only a fool would answer a question they haven’t heard. This isn’t the prom you know.
The other side asks, “Would you like to be beaten to death with a shovel this evening?”
“it just goes to show that the inspirational spirit of ypsilantians will NOT be kept down, that even in hard times people in our great city will look for hope & making a positive change in their community….”
i appreciate this msg, jeff.
fyi, i think “even in hard times” means you don’t call the cops on prostitutes.
been noticing an overwelming good mood in ypsi today. i have a little challenge for all ypsilantians. as you are out & about in ypsi over the next week, when you pass some one on the street smile & tell them to have a great day. try it for a week & lets see if people seem just a little bit happier in ypsi next friday. p.s. ( : HAVE A GREAT DAY !
SAY YES… to prostitution!
It might be fun to set a timer and see how long you can go by just responding “yes” to yes/no questions. It could be a cool competition.
jeff davis: thanks for that good idea. You have a great day too, okay? And night. (I think Mother Nature’s in on it too–there are now delicious breezes, and the humidity has dropped considerably. It’s like she’s smiling and saying, “Here, have it–a GREAT evening!” Thank you, jeff davis and Mother Nature.)
Since this seems to be an off topic topic, I want to take the chance to thank everyone who came out and volunteered on Water Street today. While the building of the trail itself may be a little delayed (not in a bad way in a saving-tons-of-back-breaking-work way) we got a lot of brush and trash cleaned out, and we discovered that the existing trail is in fact 8ft wide, not 5ft wide. We were able to clear some river access along the route for the new trail, edge the existing blacktop trail to reclaim a couple feet from overgrowth, knock down almost all of the weeds and scrub trees at the intersection of Michigan Ave and Water Street, and get out all kinds of trash.
If anyone wants to tackle some work in Waterworks Park tomorrow, like the trash back in the woods around the disc golf course, the dumpster will be there until Monday morning. Unfortunatly, I have to be at work.
Thanks again to all who came out today, to Friends of the Border to Border Trail, Growing Hope, and the City of Ypsilanti for all being so supportive. We’ll be back at it again at the end of next month, and I hope more of you can join us!
Oh, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but look for a feature article on AA.com tonight or tomorrow.
saw the article. great work, Andy. thanks to you and the other volunteers.
Good work, Andy, and thanks for the update. I’m sorry that I didn’t get out today to help out. And I’m glad to hear that it went well.
