Casting for the Red Blob Massacre

The generous tax incentives for the film industry may no longer exist in Michigan, but that doesn’t mean that people aren’t still making movies. In fact, a woman that we’ve talked with here before, Emilia Javanica, is going to be casting for a new project next week in Ann Arbor. Here are the details.

Come audition for a horror film!!!

Roles being cast:
Dad: 35-55 years old, will have to wear fake ugly teeth with braces.
Mom: 35-55 years old, will have to wear fake ugly glasses.
Teacher: 35+ years old, a boring man who is overly serious and has a slightly gross sexual tension.
Two college girls: Pretty, mean, somewhat athletic/cheerleader types.
Handsome boyfriend: Muscular, good-looking rock-star type with tattoos and an oily body (oiliness not required for audition, but willingness to oil down your torso and flex muscles in front of a camera for the shooting required. If you don’t have tattoos, don’t worry- you can still audition for the part.)
Extras: Various background people who are generally good looking and have nice teeth.

Most roles have no dialogue, and will require only a couple of days of shooting.
Shooting will take place between December and January in Ann Arbor.

Compensation at this point is not available, although if things change I will be more than eager to pay you for your time and energy. Otherwise, you’ll get the opportunity to work with a great group of people, get your face on the big screen, and just be totally awesome in general.

**Screening of the film will take place over the weekend of April 6-8 at North End Studios in Detroit. Screening will be combined with live performance and site-specific installation. There is the possibility of screen performers having the opportunity to perform as part of the live event.

When I saw that they were looking for someone with a “willingness to oil down (their) torso” I knew I had to repost this.

I like how the graphic says, “Red Blog Massacre (the film),” so as not to be confused with the musical, the historical event, or the energy drink.

Does the Red Blob signify the threat of Communism?

Hopefully it won’t be as terrifying as Shark Pool.

Wow I’m just now seeing that you posted this. Thank you!! The auditions went well, and the film is now deep in the throes of creation. And yes, I found the perfect muscle man willing to oil down his torso :). Screening in the beginning of April at the Cavern Club in Ann Arbor, more details to come..

    Thank you!!
