the ypsi tooth vandal strikes again

I’ve written here about the Ypsilanti Tooth Vandal before. I thought we’d seen the last of her, but today I happened across a new piece. Unlike all the painted pieces of the past, this one was sewn and three-dimensional. I was tempted to take it, but I decided to leave it where it was, strung up with thread, in a bush near the railroad tracks, for others to find and enjoy. I know that some in the community are pissed about the destruction of property, but I find it kind of beautiful. (I think, in this piece, he’s supposed to be trapped in a spider’s web.)

I haven’t asked Linda French about it yet, but I heard a rumor that about a year or so ago, a person ran into the Sidetrack and spray painted a tooth on the fireplace.

There’s a 3-D fabric tooth on the Depot Town clock tower as well. It’s way up at the top. I don’t know how someone could have put it up there without being noticed. You’d need a ladder to get up there. Seems like that would be seen/heard by someone.
