The President of the United States is unwell

Apparently, it wasn’t enough for Donald Trump to tell the American people that he could remember five words in a row, draw the hands on a clock, and identify an elephant. Today, in hopes of reassuring voters that he’s not suffering from a serious cognitive impairment, he came out and publicly announced that, contrary to what we might have heard, his recent trip to Walter Reed Medical Center was not due to his having suffered “a series of mini-strokes.” [He said this repeatedly over the course of the day.] This, I suspect, may have been a good strategy, had it been followed by something like an in-depth interview in which Donald Trump came across as being at the top of his game. Unfortunately for the President, though, that’s not what happened. No, his announcement about not having succumb to a series of debilitating strokes was followed by the mass sharing of a long, rambling presidential statement about the threat posed by anarchists armed with soup. [The video was apparently shot a month or so ago, but it just started making the rounds this afternoon.]

Over the past few days, Donald Trump has made several statements that have made people question whether or not he’s suffering from cognitive decline. Here he is, for instance, comparing police who shoot unarmed civilians to golfers who miss putts. [Even Laura Ingraham, as you can see is this video, recognizes his response as being absolutely, fucking crazy.] Personally, I just think this is who he is — someone who equates the taking of a human life with a bad day on the golf course — but I suppose it’s possible that something else is at play. I don’t know that it matters all that much. There are ample reasons not to support Donald Trump. In fact, cognitive decline probably wouldn’t even make my top-ten list. But, as he spent all day talking about “mini-strokes,” I thought that I should at least offer it up for conversation.

[For those of you keeping track at home, yes, Donald Trump has defended his supporters bringing assault weapons to Black Lives Matter protests, and even shooting at protesters with paintball guns. Apparently, however, he draws the line at soup.]

Or then there’s this exchange, during which Donald Trump says that “people in the dark shadows… who control the streets” are pulling Biden’s strings. He, of course, offers no real evidence of this. Instead, he suggests that people in “black uniforms” have been seen on planes. [There’s been no word as to whether or not these shadowy individuals have been carrying cans of soup.]

I know you know this, but the President of the United States is unwell, weak and ineffective.

Here, for those of you too young to remember what a real, non-delusional president sounds like, is a new ad just put out by the Biden campaign, which is set to start running here in Michigan shortly. [Assuming it was produced by the soup-throwing, shadowy figures who control the streets, I think they’re doing a pretty good job.]

Again, the tactic used is to accuse your opponent of the exact defect which is characteristic of the candidate that you support. It is ineffective with thinking persons. Biden should “Be Not Afraid” of debating Trump, and then the whole world will see which of the two is capable of rational thought.

Speculation about a candidates ill health is standard campaign dirty tricks on both sides. People do love that kind of rubbernecking speculative gossip. We won’t know the truth and can’t know it during a campaign season. Donald Trump’s relative health or not is not why I’ll be voting against him. I suppose it’s too much to hope that this sort of campaign tactic go away and never come back.

If you put a can in a couple of plastic bags and twist the bag for a handle you have a very pretty powerful weapon similar to a baseball bat. I have witness someone beat the hell out of a man with a refillable coffee bottle on a strap.

Some school shooting prevention programs advised all classrooms to have canned foods in them so the teachers and students could throw them at the shooters.

I have not heard of Antifa using soup cans at protests but it would not surprise me at all. Antifa does not exist though. I keep forgetting.

EOS, I just still think it is funny that *anyone* who would vote for a man as obviously mentally incompetent as Donald Trump would even for a second accuse a man like Biden as not being all there. I mean Biden may have his deficits but they are minor in comparison to Trump’s! It seems with Biden it is really more about people taking advantage of his stutter which doesn’t surprise me at all. I mean Trump has modeled plenty of ableism and disrespect for anyone with disabilities.

but ok. I guess as long as Trump is blowing that white male supremacy dog whistle, his supporters will still come running.

    FF-

I was talking with a friend today back in Michigan. He was asking about how things in Seattle are going…specifically about all the stuff in the news. I told him that the areas where the protests are going on represent such a small area of the city… literally a few blocks. Same thing in Portland. That does not excuse any of the crap going on in either of these cities by hooligans, but it does help indicate the scale. When the rest of the country sees the cropped photos and hears the cropped sound bites, they conflate the nonsense to more of a threat than it is… and unfortunately the voices of those trying to point out the true structural problems are being conflated with the people busting windows, burning buildings, and other general mayhem ( again, in a small geographic area ).

We are all looking at and listening to the world through straws that are focused on events by others… and we are all flipping our lids over what we see and hear. This myopic approach is not healthy. We are all guilty of it to some degree, but you, my friend, have taken it to new heights. Your nit picking of details makes you sound like a 6th year student of philosophy.

The events that have triggered all of these protests were serious policing problems, and the Black Lives Matter people are trying to keep the straws focused on this. The Justice Department and the President have the Consent Decree option, but have done nothing with it. Come out of the weeds for a few minutes and discuss that with me rather than disassembling the ordered whole to figure out where the mysterious ghost in the machine resides.

He, by legal decree has just denied an entire class of people some of their income and their legal recourse in favor of a second class of people to ensure public safety during this crises.
That seems pretty draconian to me. That suggest the crises is real, and they have no way out. We are seeing our future displayed to us in real time.

Sounds like it is stopping during the Trump administration, huh? Problem for you is because of the malfeasance in the past regarding mass surveillance the Q team has the ability to legally obtain through warrants all the communications of criminals in governments and elsewhere.

Bob. Sure. It is a guess based on the number of women I know who were molested as children. At least 25%* I also know that the vast majority of the men who raped them were never charged too. It really is so widespread that it isn’t crazy to suggest that in any normal social group of men, the odds are one of them is a child molester.

*The numbers in my personal bubble don’t seem that far off from reality unfortunately
    https://www.ywca.org/wp-content/uploads/WWV-CSA-Fact-Sheet-Final.pdf

Does the terrorist gang have more planned? How deeply imbedded in the Kenosha police are there terrorist operatives? Is Bidens life at risk?

Conspirator 3 “ In another clip, an unidentified armed white man in a baseball cap and a ballistic vest — an unofficial uniform of the self-styled militias — says this: “You know what the cops told us today? They were like, ‘We’re gonna push ‘em down by you, ’cause you can deal with them and then we’re gonna leave.'”

What about the people who filmed all of the wrong doing by JoJo and friends? Are those journalist part of the setup? It is rumored that Kyle ate a subway sandwich earlier in the day. Kyle may have thrown a monkey wrench into the plan, they might not have expected him to come back. Walking down the street with his hands up might have made it difficult to eliminate him, perhaps they are still learning the play book.

Seriously though, like I already said (!) there are questions that need to be asked of the Kenosha PD. I wonder if there are many people who object? I’m guessing zero. Where are the goalposts again Wobblie? I thought they were 3 feet away. Now they are 30 feet away. Stupid goalposts!

Actually kyle is objecting. He is pretty central and is hiding in juvenile detention in Illinois. Be another 30 days before any hearing. Prosecutors wont be able to ask him any questions until they can bring him to Wisconsin.

Two life sentences could be a pretty big motivator for Kyle to want to mitigate the harm his future is going to suffer.
