Representative Swalwell puts Donald Trump at the center of the Ukraine plot

I have a lot I’d like to say today, but, in the interest of advancing the forces of truth and justice, I’d like to yield my time to Representative Swalwell.

Question: And who would love to run against Joe Biden in the 2020 election?

    Answer: President Trump.

Question: And who was supposedly at the center of a scheme that would make it less likely that Joe Biden would be the nominee?

    Answer: Urrrr, President Trump?

Good point, Anonymous. In the spirit of not changing the subject maybe you could offer your argument that Trump ought to be removed from office for “hypocrisy-crimes and treason”. I mean, you have evidence in the article that Trump hired people with fake IDs, did not hide them from the tax system, and paid them by check. Can you give us your argument about how employers should refrain from hiring people who look poor and Mexican-ish even if they have ID? Would love to hear your argument and how it ties into our shared Swalwellian mission of “advancing the forces of truth and justice” via impeachment. Via an interpretation of intent. Couched within a specific opinion on what our foreign policy ought to be…

I don’t think Trump wants to run against Biden. Even though some more recent polls have shown some changes, most of the early ones I saw showed Biden beating Trump by more than other dems.

Thank you for sharing your opinion, Lynne.

I believe you are being very sincere.

I’m sure many people agree with your opinion.

It is likely Trump was just saying he would like to run against Biden because he is actually afraid of Biden, who is mentally in his prime, and who can do a lot of pushups, for someone, who is probably 5-7 years away from living in a memory care facility.

To be fair, if Biden got elected it wouldn’t be the first time in recent history that we had a president with memory issues. Reagan couldn’t remember his cabinet members during his second term. Just saying.

MSM polls have been proven worthless. Don’t really think Trump needs to be concerned about any of the current crop of Democrat candidates.

I guess I have a philosophy that primaries are the time when one should vote for the person one would most like to see as president. I don’t generally factor in the concept of “electability” especially since it changes all of the time but especially because it often seems to be an excuse for people not to vote for a woman or a POC. At any rate, for those who DO consider such things to be important, it looks like Biden is not the most electable candidate at this time.

Off topic: I don’t use twitter but I have visited. Am I the only one who finds it strange that the videos repeat themselves until the video is scrolled off the screen? The shorter the video the more out of context the content of the video and the more times the video repeats as one reads the accompanying spin. It might not be intentional but wouldn’t such a feature be useful for the purpose of brainwashing and manipulation—if a content creator were so inclined?

You are confused as usual. Never heard of the Right of Return? Every Jew has the right to live in Israel and gain citizenship or so the law says. I didn’t say anything about that so I don’t understand what point you think you are making.

Children of Jewish mothers are considered Jewish by Israel regardless of their religious observance. Therefore it is unique among the major religions in having a requirement of certain mitochondrial DNA. If you are not part of the gene pool an exception is required in the form of the conversion process.

If a religion is defined as a foreign nationality or even just an ethnicity in US law ( including immigration law) which the EO would do, then yes, that’s a problem. He doesn’t;t have to say it’s not a religion for this to be a problem. People may self-identify as ethnically Jewish and nationally Jewish, but it is not the business of government to define these terms. It’s highly problematic. When a group of people are a few generations away from facing extermination due to such labelling, it’s a travesty.

PS–HW This business of inverting points and then asking me to prove something I didn’t;t say is tiresome. Because I feel obligated to correct the record (not sure why). Anyway just keep calling me an asshole. I don’t care and it’s less work.

HW– are there quotes in my comment there? No. Did I use the word ‘purported’? Yes. Did any of us have access to the exact words at that time? No. But Again– defining religion as nationality for legal purposes is problematic. It’s not a single nationality or an ethnicity but a religion. You know who defines Judaism as a singular ethnicity or nationality?Anti-semites. It sounds like Trump has walked that back in the just released draft text of the EO.

Since none of us had privy to the language of the EO at that time, I feel totally ok with my interpretation. If you have a problem with it, write to the NYTimes. I read their story from Tuesday night.

Ubiquitous matrilineal descent throughout history means that having certain mitochondrial DNA is the traditional way. If you don’t have it you are not considered Jewish without conversion. I have never argued that DNA tests should be required to be Jewish or Israeli or whatever you are trying to say. Don’t know why you would expect me to answer to that.

So long as you believe, EOS, based on your faith that the Earth was created 6000 years ago and climate change is not caused by human activity, your faith is open to criticism. Get your religious belief out of the country’s politics and I promise you I would hold zero interest in what you believe or don’t believe.

I will consider respecting your self-definition when you start respecting others self-definitions and stop denying that Transgender people or gender dysmorphia exist.

Get your laws off our bodies and you can believe anything you want.

Perhaps jewishness is not defined only by religion. Perhaps there is a distinct Jewish ethnicity.

Everyone here who excused the Black Hebrew Israelites from racial abuse in the Nathan Phillips incident is fucked. One of them murdered Jews in New Jersey.

No one here excuse the Back Israelites of being racist. They have not been tied to any violence, other than verbal, until today. and that was one guy. How many conservative Christians have participated in mass murders?

HW I do not think what you are saying is anti-semitic. I don’t believe your defense of Trump’s EO relates to your concern for the Jewish people however. Nor do I think his EO does. I think what you are saying leans hard on biological determinism and other problematic ways of looking at race and ethnicity. I have provided many links to Jewish people very uncomfortable with the framing you use around their identity, so maybe now is a time to listen more and talk less.

Framing I use? Wrong. It’s Jewish tradition. Nothing to do with me or framing by anyone. You ought to listen when someone educates you.

They are as a group. This one guy is not representative. The attack happened yesterday. There was no history of violence until yesterday. Compare that to conservative Christians, especially those who believe in dee state conspiracies.

A Qanon follower participated stalked Mayor di Blassio before shooting mob boss. And then there’s the pizza gate shooting. Should we now think you pose a threat?

How many murders have been committed by anti-abortion activists? Should we fear EOS and all people with that belief system will do the same?

6 lone gunmen in the last 26 years compared to 3000 killed each day in the abortion clinics. Your fear is definitely misplaced.
