I know that absolutely nothing will change, but I do take some pleasure in seeing the White House Press Corps stand up to Sarah Huckabee Sanders and call her a liar to her face

When we first found out about that secret July 2016 Trump Tower meeting between Trump campaign officials and Russian operatives, Donald Trump Jr., as you may recall, came forward with a ridiculous explanation. In a letter written to the New York Times, Donald Trump’s eldest son said that the two parties had met not to discuss the presidential campaign, and how the Russians might be able to help them defeat Hillary Clinton, but international adoption policy. This explanation, of course, didn’t last long, as we’d soon have access to the email exchange between Trump Jr. and the Russians, in which the candidate’s son, when offered stolen “dirt” on Hillary Clinton, responds by saying “I Love It.” Well, as you may also recall, as the administration’s narrative about that meting began to unravel, some began to suggest that the false explanation offered by Donald Trump Jr. was actually authored by his father. And, a few days ago, as we all now know, this fact was finally confirmed by way of a leaked memo from the President’s legal team. Well, today, while Trump hid somewhere, White House Spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders went before reporters and attempted to deflect questions about whether or not this would qualify as obstruction of justice. [It does.]

My favorite part came when members of the press moved en masse against Sanders, demanding to know why, back on August 1, 2017, she’d lied to them, assuring them that Trump “certainly didn’t dictate” his son’s statement.

“If you’re saying one thing from the podium — that it wasn’t dictated by the president — and his lawyers are saying something entirely different and contradict you, how are we supposed to know who to believe?” the Washington Post’s Josh Dawsey asked. “How can we believe what you’re saying from the podium if his lawyers are saying it’s entirely inaccurate?”

Here are the videos.

I know that this won’t change a thing. It’s not like Sanders will curl up and die of shame, like I would, if I somehow found myself in the same situation. No, she’ll continue to do the same thing, and the members of the press, like the now thoroughly boiled toads that they are, will continue to ask her questions as though they’re expecting truthful answers in return. Still, though, I enjoy these exchanges, as they offer some glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, the press still has it within them to rise up, stop worrying about the perception of balance, and the insults of the rabid, loud and angry anti-fact Trumpists that they’ll never win over anyway, and report the unvarnished truth, which is that a con man has taken control of our country, and that he’s hellbent on burning the whole thing down rather than face justice.

update: Today, standing in front of the same members of the press she’d lied to yesterday, Sarah Huckabee Sanders had the nerve to say, “I think you all know I am an honest person who works extremely hard to provide you with accurate information.”

Why did Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Hope Hicks, and Jay Sekulow lie about the Trump Tower meeting? Most likely because Trump told them to lie. And that’s what we are all dancing around.

    I liked this from Vice:

“When Mueller’s investigation wraps up, this Sanders statement may not matter all that much—certainly it will matter less than what was said at that meeting and whatever other communications campaign officials had with Russians. But in the spirit of not shrugging off what used to be regarded as misconduct, we should mark this moment. The president lied, the press secretary lied on his behalf, it was shown that they lied, and they shrugged it off with a no comment. “This is not normal” long ago became a cliche, but it’s now been replaced by a new one: This is now normal, and that’s the problem.”

    Not true? Implications? Think.

But hours before the Trump Tower meeting on June 9, 2016, Fusion co-founder and ex-Wall Street Journal reporter Glenn Simpson was with Veselnitskaya in a Manhattan federal courtroom, a confidential source told Fox News. Court records reviewed by Fox News, email correspondence and published reports corroborate the pair’s presence together. The source told Fox News they also were together after the Trump Tower meeting.

Good way to spend your time. Iron Lung or Iron Lung Larson or whatever stupid name said he is just waiting to die because he hates the world so it shouldn’t be surprising he would act like that. He has a complex about weeed because his parents were drug addicts so he mocks people who love it. It’s like Bill Hicks said though: if you are anti-weed then throw your record collection in the trash because those people were…really fucking high. He hates me because I voted for Trump and think he is doing awesome so he is pouring on the mindless mockery. I think him exposing his own asininity only helps me and hurts him/the blog.

If Democrats think they’re going to get Republicans to do their jobs simply by complaining that they’re not doing their jobs, I’m certain they will just continue to be disappointed. Shouldn’t every “blue” state be initiating secession procedures? As far as I’m concerned, by failing to do so, Democrats are failing to do their job.
