The NRA just put out a video of their spokesperson, Dana Loesch, warning all of us who dare to speak out against them to either shut up or face the consequences. Putting aside for the moment just how ridiculous it is for the leaders of a gun-hoarding death cult, who spend their every waking hour thinking of new ways to get deadly weapons into the hands of the mentally ill, the young, the blind, and those found guilty of domestic violence, to be so upset about people exercising their right to free speech, I couldn’t help but notice how much Loesch, dressed all in black, holding a giant hourglass, and making threats, reminded me of Margret Hamilton… Here’s the NRA ad, followed by my Wizard of Oz-inspired response.
“To every lying member of the media, to every Hollywood phony, to the role model athletes who use their free speech to alter and undermine what our flag represents…Your Time is running out. The clock starts now."

I liked it better when the Wicked Witch of the West did it. pic.twitter.com/G983g02STi

If you can believe it, Wayne LaPierre’s video is even worse.
“These elites threaten our very survival, and to them we say: We don’t trust you, we don’t fear you, and we don’t need you. Take your hands off our future,” says LaPierre.
LaPierre, by the way, when not condemning the elites, is earning $5 million a year as the head of the NRA.
They’re coming out with everything they’ve got today. They must be terrified by what people might say at the Oscars tonight.

What happens to us when the NRA’s hourglass runs out of sand?
Margret Hamilton brought something human to her portrayal of the witch. Her witch was not merely an evil caricature. Loesch, however, is a different story.
At least he Wicked Witch of the West was honest.
