If Lorne Michaels were smart, he’d get to work ASAP on a Donald Trump, Sean Spicer buddy film

Here, because I don’t want to be the only person in America not sharing it today, is video of Melissa McCarthy as White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on Saturday Night Live.

One good thing about the Trump administration is that it’s made Saturday Night Live relevant again. This was really one of the best things I’ve seen in ages. If Lorne Michaels were smart, he’d have his writing staff begin work immediately on a film script for Alec Baldwin and Melissa McCarthy.

Maybe… and I’m just spitballing here… it could be like Borat, with Baldwin as Trump, as McCarthy and Spicer, traveling across this, or some other country. Maybe they’re on a mission of some kind, like trying to get truck full of Coors across the country for their boss, Steve Bannon. Or, better yet, maybe they’re trying to break Bannon out of either rehab or prison so that he can retake control of the government. But who would play Bannon? Or maybe we wouldn’t have to see him at all. Maybe he could just be a disembodied voice, like Charlie in Charlie’s Angels, calling on a speaker phone to berate Trump… I think there’s real potential here. And I think the whole thing could be crowdfunded. What self-respecting progressive wouldn’t give $100 to see Baldwin and McCarthy wrecking havoc across the country as Trump and Spicer?

Where’s Hal Smith when you need him? He would have made the best Bannon.

I wouldn’t leave out Kate McKinnon as the delightful Conway, either…
