Your thoughts on the second debate between Clinton and Trump

Watching tonight’s debate, I had four thoughts worth sharing. Here they are. If you have anything to add, please leave a comment.

For what it’s worth, I was also disappointed that no one used the word “pussy.”

I enjoyed it when he started blaming her for things that happened when she held no political office.

She did miss a few opportunities. Often she sounded overly rehearsed, if only because she was being contrasted against a full on ad lib performance art piece.

I fear for the next election, if this is what we’re getting in this one.

This all is too complicated for the Fox News set. For all the talk of “law and order” there seems to be a lack of appreciation for either.

But I am simply making a useless comment. I am sorry.

There are too many complete sentences here for people to actually read.

Trump is a complete idiot, who doesn’t even have the sense to own up to his own knowledge gaps.

But then, this fits the profile of most people, so maybe he is, in fact, the everyperson.

He promised to have her put in prison if elected. That’s going to win him some votes.

There are many Americans who love the idea of making the President a king.

I don’t need a whole lot of reason to off myself, but I would consider ending it all if Trump gets elected. What would be the point in living? No country to return to. The world in chaos. Violence all over the US. These are the things we can expect.

Certainly, Fox News and sophomoric talk radio are to blame, but this is where we’ve ended up. Liberal populism is also to blame here. It seems our world is now too complex for the people to bear, now they get their information from stupid memes that float all over the internet.

    It’s over. Why live?

I admittedly did not catch the first debate live and only saw some highlights. I watched most of this live – while doing things like making lunches for the week.

That was the saddest display I’ve ever seen. As you could tell from the many cheers and jeers from the crowd, the Trump supporters don’t care what he’s done. They still love him.

Some organization needs to have the strength to completely cut off candidates’ mics if (1) they go over time and (2) don’t even remotely address the question. Debates also need to not be in front of any live audience.

Anderson Cooper pretty much asked, “for the record, have you ever grabbed a pussy?” That has to be a debate first.

News is out today that Billy Bush was fired from the Today Shiw for his role in Pussy Grab O Gate. Hard to imagine that conversation would disqualify someone from a morning entertainment news program but not the Oval Office.

Do you think Donald Trump took the opportunity, as he sat in that pre-debate press conference, to apologize to the woman sitting to his right and left.

I apologize if this is old news but I ran across a clip of Trump on “Lifestyles on the rich and famous” this morning. In the interview, from the 80’s, he was asked what traits his infant daughter takes from his wife and which traits his infant daughter has from her mother. I am paraphrasing here but he said something like: “My daughter has my wife’s long legs and we will have to wait to see if she ends up with big tits….”

I respect him for not having a filter but I just wonder what sort of inner conditions make these types of thoughts possible in the first place…

Honestly, I worry about the 40% of likely voters who are going to be voting for this man no matter what. They can’t be reasoned with using facts. They believe anything that confirms their world view. They want a world where rich men can feel entitled to go around grabbing vaginas? SMH

He couldn’t pass a high school civics exam. The attorney general does not appoint special prosecutors, congress does. He can’t even threaten democracy without making shit up.

John Oliver is spot on when he says that we shouldn’t allow the Republicans who are now trying to distance themselves from Trump to do so. As he says, Trump “alone does not bear the burden of his conduct, because he alone did not make himself your party’s nominee. All of you have consistently supported him through some absolutely heinous shit.”

Oliver added, “In his very first campaign speech, he called Mexicans ‘rapists’ — and that was just the beginning. Because since then, he’s proposed a temporary ban on Muslim immigrants; advocated for killing terrorists’ families, which is, by the way, a war crime; argued for waterboarding even if it doesn’t obtain information because — and I quote — ‘they deserve it anyway’; and just this week he stood by his claims that the Central Park Five were guilty despite the fact that DNA evidence has since exonerated them.”

This take is interesting: more likely that trump will lose and be prosecuted, opening the doors to prosecuting every losing candidate in the future back and forth in retaliation.

I have wondered about that, Brian. Like Berlusconi in Italy a few years ago Trump may now be in a position where he can only stay out of jail by winning. I almost wonder if it would be in HRC’s interest to pardon him upon a victory just so she doesn’t have to deal with the endless fodder that would be generated making perhaps history’s most improbable martyr out of him.

Trump should’ve stayed in the shadows, considering what kind of person he is. His criminal behavior predated his run for office, and might not have been brought to general attention had he not run. It’s a cautionary tale, isn’t it? If you’re a vampire, don’t strut the beach at noontime…

I went and read about Clinton’s email “scandal.”

That’s all they have? The entire “scandal” seems to be more about government’s slow pace of adopting new technology and the even slower pace of changing rules to accommodate it.

As for the deleted emails, while probably not the best political idea, the law appears to favor Clinton here.

Republicans are playing on a combination of ignorance and passion. Not to say that Democrats don’t often to the same.

If Republicans want to stage a major freakout over this, they should start by changing the rules to prevent it from happening again. It appears, though, that Republicans are at least as technologically backward as Clinton herself.

Trump will be fine. In fact, he will be much better off after losing this election. He’s already been making a big profit on his run. I’m sure his companies will get some very lucrative contracts after he loses too.

In the most recent turn of events. Trump has taken to commenting on Clinton’s body.

“I’m standing at my podium and she walks in front of me, right. She walks in front of me, you know. And when she walked in front of me, believe me, I wasn’t impressed.” -Donald Trump
