For those of you who missed the debut of the ad for the Wurst Challenge that debuted during last Sunday’s Oscar broadcast, here it is again.
We’re less than two days into the campaign, and already we’ve raised almost $500 for Ypsilanti’s FLY Children’s Art Center. Sadly, though, several of our participants have yet to attract any significant backing… like, for instance, our Mayor, who, as of right now, has only attracted $11 in support, well behind the young upstart Jason “Knifebeard SausageHawk” Youngs, who leads the pack with $180.
If you have a few dollars and want to support a worthy cause, just click here, choose your champion, and leave a few dollars. It’s super easy… I know, as I donated ten of the Mayor’s eleven dollars.
Now please join me in making a contribution so that FLY can keep doing what they’re doing at their Creativity Lab in downtown Ypsilanti. And let your friends know about the event on Facebook… Oh, and come to the Wurst Bar on the 20th so see these sausage-loving philanthropists wolf down impossible amounts of sausage. (In addition to your contributions, the Wurst Bar will be donating “ten cents an inch” for all of the sausage consumed by our challengers.)
[note: The above ad was created by Ypsilanti’s own very talented Brad Perkins, who, as I understand it, may have a few other things in the works relative to this big event.]

It’s good to live in a town where the Mayor would appeal alongside someone like Knifebeard Sausagehawk and labor to consume perilous amounts of sausage for a good cause.
The commercial is thrilling! I need to pick champion.

Thank you, everyone. We’re now up to about $800 in donations, and the Mayor has a more respectable $26. He still needs at least $24 more, though, to qualify for participation. Please give, folks.
