Well, it would seem that Billy Brag received our invitation to join us on Water Street this evening, as we gathered to celebrate May Day. I received the following email from him, just as the seed bombs started raining down on the site.
A big thank you to everyone who went out of their way to flyer Ann Arbor with our poster requesting Mr. Bragg’s presence in Ypsilanti. I’ve heard from reliable sources that he was greeted with one as he walked into his dressing room at the Ark this afternoon, and again as he reentered his bus. And I imagine that several people also mentioned to him that we’d launched a campaign to lure him from Ann Arbor. Unfortunately, it didn’t result in visit, but I think it’s incredibly cool that we were actually able to reach him and get a response. And, who knows… maybe next time he’s on tour, things will work out differently. I’d love to have him here next year, when the meadow that we all planted today is full of color and teaming with life.

I love the idea of crowd-sourced stalking. What other famous people are coming trough Michigan this week?
We’re getting better at it, I guess. When I tried with Robert DeNiro, he didn’t write back.
You should have just offered to sing to him.
Robert DeNiro never writes back.

Oh, Billy Bragg….I love your style…Thanks for your efforts….I love your heart
I saw Billy several years ago in Boston when there was a janitors strike going on. Billy appeared at Copley Square the night after a concert to sing 3 or 4 songs in support. It was fantastic. Missed you in boston this time Billy. Next time
I was just reading all the sites that disparage Bragg because he doesn’t live like a pauper.
Seems it’s better just to do nothing and say nothing. Sad.
Holy shit. It says that 410 people like this on Facebook.
