Wanted: Billy Bragg in Ypsilanti on May Day…. spread the word

As I mentioned yesterday, Billy Bragg is going to be in Ann Arbor tomorrow for a show at The Ark, and we’d love to steal him away for an hour or so, before he takes the stage, to join us in Ypsi for our May Day festivities at the Water Street Commons. With that in mind, a wanted poster has been created. Please print out a few copies, and distribute them widely in Ann Arbor.

I know it’s a long shot, but what have we got too lose, right?

Is it even remotely possible that this could happen?

    More are needed, though.

And his manager has been contacted, as well as at least one employee of the Ark.

We are attacking on every front.

At the very least, maybe he would send a recorded statement, or a letter that could be read on his behalf.

Wow. The feedback has been awesome. We still haven’t heard back from his manager, but several folks have volunteered either to put posters up in Ann Arbor, or put them in the hands of people likely to see Mr. Bragg tomorrow afternoon. It’s amazing how quickly this campaign is coming together. I’d like to tell you more, but I’m sworn to secrecy. I will say, however, that I think we’ve got a very good chance that he’ll see the poster. Whether or not he’ll join us is another matter, though. For all I know, he’ll be tied up with sound checks, or other obligations. We’ve definitely got a chance, though.
