I spent some time looking for video of Santa taking the calls of kids on the Ann Arbor Community Access television station, but couldn’t find anything. If you have a link, let me know. Also, please leave a comment if you have a favorite holiday video that you’d like to share.
I might have thrown in a scene from It’s a Wonderful life, but, all in all, I’d say that you’ve done a pretty admirable job here. It’s a nice, well-rounded collection.
1977 Bowie and Crosby doing Little Drummer Boy. No Christmas is complete without it.

It’s a Wonderful Life is now on YouTube, in its entirety!

I’ve always enjoyed these short bits on the 12 days of Christmas, by Peter Cook and Ludovic Kennedy:

Happy Holidays everyone.
Let’s not forget The Pogues & Kirsty McColl doing “Fairytale Of New York’.

Christmas in my family wouldn’t be complete without John Denver’s “Please, Daddy (don’t get drunk this Christmas).
Listen:

Sing along:
Please Daddy, don’t get drunk this Christmas
I don’t wanna see my Mumma cry
Please Daddy, don’t get drunk this Christmas
I don’t wanna see my Mumma cry
Just last year when I was only seven
And now I’m almost eight as you can see
You came home at a quarter past eleven
Fell down underneath our Christmas tree
Please Daddy, don’t get drunk this Christmas
I don’t wanna see my Mumma cry
Please Daddy, don’t get drunk this Christmas
I don’t wanna see my Mumma cry
Mumma smiled and looked outside the window
She told me son, you better go upstairs
Then you laughed and hollered Merry Christmas
I turned around and saw my Mumma’s tears
Please Daddy, don’t get drunk this Christmas
I don’t wanna see my Mumma cry
Please Daddy, don’t get drunk this Christmas
I don’t wanna see my Mumma cry
No, I don’t wanna see my Mumma cry
It’s not very Christmasy, but, as Jack Klugman just passed away, you might want to throw this scene from the punk episode of Quincy into the rotation.
The modern family classic….. Rare Exports.

Thanks, Elf (Bowie & Crosby).
And Merry Christmas everyone.
I wanted to watch (very young) Stevie Wonder’s rendition of “Little Drummer Boy” on youtube, but it’s blocked. Such a sweet version . . . could just make you cry toward the end. Good tears!
I always liked this version:

Hope everyone had a great day :)
