“You bed-pissing rednecks are a fucking disgrace to this country”

I’ve spent the last few days among the fudgies of Mackinac Island, and I’m finding it difficult to transition back into the real world. While I’m trying to work things out, here’s something for you to discuss.

Speaking of Romney’s dancing horse, does anyone know when it’s scheduled to make its appearance at the Olympics? I want to show Clementine what we as a nation got for our $77,000 investment.

And, if you don’t want to talk about this letter, or about Romney’s dancing horse, feel free to leave a comment about Mackinac Island. I’d love to know your thoughts on why a small town that smells of horse shit and fudge is such a hit with successful old white men and their second families.

But this is socialism Mark! Don’t you know healthcare reform is going to turn the totally untotalitarian and unspoiled US into a socialist utopia? Just like Hitler’s Germany! I bet you didn’t know that Nazi Germany was a socialist country, yep the NSDAP meant the national socialist (!!) German workers party! And as we all know, it was the Nazi’s out-of-control spending on those disgustingly entitled orphans, and on damned public transport to those fat black women who live to get impregnated so they don’t have to work that was the major problem with their society. Its all so clear, the Nazis were liberal, their nation/family worship, vicious anti-immigration, and demonization of minority groups is just so liberal!

A nenuphar phrase is not a taboo of immediate solution even if it were to be seen as leading away from where destiny would find a reasonable or plausible target, given the preponderance of conditions that invite a non sequitur of disenchanted symbologies and scant permanence in the realm of distraction.

The Nazis were liberals. They had free public transportation to any number of death camps.

Not everyone on the island was a successful older white guy with a young wife and kids, but I saw quite a bit of that. I think it’s part of the Mackinac Center platform, actually.

I have some NeoConny pals on Facebook. I would like for one of them–or any conservative–to respond to this brilliant rant. I’m being as serious as a heart attack–I want to know their response. I want to understand how someone can honestly go around, living their lives, and not give a shit about Ann’s horse that she’s fucking (come on guys–you know she’s getting it from that horse) but get seriously upset that some kid in Detroit is getting to eat a free “vitamin enhanced Donut” for breakfast. I want to understand how you can get so upset that some union dude who stands up all day & gets covered in grease & sweat all day makes $45,000 per year but not give two shits that CEOs are making millions & billions & getting tax breaks handed to them left and right. I want to understand how someone who wants small government also wants to force women to give birth to babies that will die before their first birthday and suffer excruciating pain in the meantime.

I’m not being facetious; I seriously want some explanations from our right-wing friends. Be nice and let’s have an honest discussion.

I may be off, Sue, but I think it might have to do with Heidegger and the hippo. At least that’s what the clues from Google are suggesting.

What could that inconsequential drivel have to do with anything? Its funny you think that pointless video has some salient assertion to make on any subject, it does nothing other then eloquently depict Glenn “I’m a little like Moses for the Teaparty” Beck’s racist animosity. Thank you for taking a break from your surely competent parenting to post an irrelavent hack’s racist belittling of the desperation of Detroit and its unbelieveably complex problems to score points with vapid millinarian ditto-heads. Its just so clear that blond haired, blue eyed, archconservative, violently emotional, reactionary, anti-immigration, family/state worshipping fanatics are really nothing like the Nazis. Its the wasteful liberal spending on special education that really bares the most resemblance to the NSDAP, thanks for showing us the light mark k, you’re a fucking saint.

I’m with Sue–no idea what Dragon means. Mark–what makes you think those old white men aren’t showing their single parent daughters and grand children around the Island? More white single parent families than any others–old white men some times look after the grand kids, and white men with trophy wives usually arn’t to keen on yet more young-ins.

Mark, if the lesson here is bad tax monies, you need not wait until the Romney horse is on. Take a little drive a half hour east and visit the bustling metropolis of Detroit. Enjoy how they decided to keep the potholes in the roads to retain that rustic feel. You can give your daughter a lesson in direct capitalism as scantily clad ladies with black eyes and track marks hawk their wares. Sure, take in a Tiger game while you’re there, but don’t hop on the quick exit to 375 when you’re done, take a stroll through the neighborhoods. And while you’re hoping that no one makes eye contact with you, let her know that the price of this treasure is just about half of Michigan’s tax revenue.

I was riding the People Mover about a month ago with my son, and he’s looking out the window and says “Dad there a dead guydown there on the sidewalk.” I looked, it was just a bum sleeping…. on the sidewalk…. in the middle of the day. People had to walk around him. Democrats have destroyed a once great city.

    sue melke,

I believe dragon ran his post through the “Thom Elliot Online Translator”

BTW, I had basically this exact discussion (re: the welfare queen myth) on facebook a few weeks ago. The weird thing is that it wasnt with tea party nuts, it was with some ignorant slob that actually collects unemployment insurance, and rants about people on welfare. Her excuse is that she/her husband had paid into the system, so they deserved it.

SparkleMotion, are you suggesting that $77,000 for a dancing horse is OK because we, as a society, spend more on Detroit? I can understand being pissed about wasteful spending (and corruption) in Detroit, but I don’t see how that makes the fact that we gave Romney a $77,000 tax deduction for a prancing horse any less nauseating.

Also, for what it’s worth, there are homeless people sleeping in Ann Arbor at this very moment. It’s also worth noting that many of them are on the street because we’ve cut funding for mental health programs.

That is, by far, one of the most eloquent and vulgar replies I have ever read, and it was awesome.

The first and last time I went to Fudge Island, I overheard two middle-aged women having what sounded like a serious conversation. And then I heard the red-flag, on-this-island-be-douchebags question: “well, where do YOU summer?” Like a fucking season is a VERB! I laughed, the friend I was with shuffled me away before I had to explain why they sucked, sitting on the porch of their glorified, albeit clean frathouse.

I wonder what Drummond Island is like? I hear tell it’s great for hunting & fishing…

While the $77k in tax deductions for the Romney’s dressage horse is appalling, there is another “ethical” side to the Romneys’ invovlement in horses. A few years back, Ann and her trainer (yes the one that qualified Rafalca for the Olympics) sold a horse to a client for $125,000. That sum isn’t unheard of for a top-level dressage horse. However, it was proven that his horse had a serious lameness, and was drugged at the time of sale. The billionaire Romneys then refused to refund the sale money to the person who purchased the grossly mis-represented horse. They were sued for fraud and settled out of court. They essentially tried to ditch a horse that was no longer “useful” to them for a large hunk of change. We can’t fund public education, but the Romney’s think nothing of duping someone out of $125k.

bee got it. Almost a decade ago, now, I was working somewhere up northish and was invited on a job-related trip to the island. Before the sign-up process, everyone got a lecture about how all the slav… servants, er, servers up there were brown and how it wasn’t necessarily racist because the white people just happened to find help in places where brown people were and they certainly didn’t preserve a tiny island where white people could come and recognize all the people they were better than without having to, like, judge by their clothes or job title or any other calorie-burner besides just how the scum look, no, they weren’t doing that on purpose, it’s just how things were, but if it might bother anyone well they should just be aware of it before we all get in the vans.

I elected not to go. Still have never been. Fudge is overrated.

HAHAHAHA @ Mark K… there was a homeless man sleeping on the sidewalk, therefore democrats.

Sort of like the other day when I had a sudden 2 day stomach flu that came up out of nowhere and I couldn’t do anything but make sure I was stationed a few feet from a toilet and I was like “those fucking republicans.”
