Bewernitz pleads guilty to Beezy’s and Dos Hermanos break-ins

Remember that guy who was arrested a few months ago for, among other things, breaking into Beezy’s and stealing a safe? Well, according to a comment left earlier today by a reader calling himself Burt Reynolds, the guy pled guilty in court today. Here’s Burt’s first-hand report.

…Today I was sitting in Court (business, not pleasure) and I’ll be damned if the guy that robbed Beezy’s, Hermanos, the skate shop, and Korey’s, wasn’t there for his final pre-trial. He took a plea for the robberies of Beezy’s and Dos Hermanos. The rest of the charges are dropped. His sentencing is next month, but as part of his plea deal, he will serve a minimum of 19 months. Also, he does not look as creepy in person as he does in the picture.

I’ll be the first to admit that this isn’t Mark’s best post, but I don’t think he’s being an asshole.

If you want to see him be an asshole, you should check out the Paul Deen post.

was he ordered to pay any restitution to the people he stole from? I could care less if he serves time. I say he has to make whole the people he hurt. That is justice. Make him work to pay off his debts to Bee and the others. Nothing else really makes any since.

It wasn’t mentioned, but in my experience after he is released on parole, he will have to pay restitution as specifically requested by Beezy’s and the other business owners.

I too was there… I was the one down front, in the black suit, cute blonde… Who has spent the past 6 years praying to god he lives another day… He isn’t an asshole… Has an old soul and wisdom to go with it… Its an illness… Like cancer… .. And by all means… I think we all can be assholes when we haven’t slept for 4 days. Bee… Your first post really did hit the nail on the head… The system has failed on every level… Mandatory tethers when released, parole officers who actually do there jobs… And hospitals that treat the patient… Not ignore and abuse the addict. I was at the humane society the other day… A persons heart can be quickly measured by how they regard animals. My dog appreciated him tucking her in right next to him (not me her owner)… And she hated being covered up… But that dog would lay there, with MY pillow… Right by Danny’s side… Covered up with the blanket he tucked her in with… And that dog wouldn’t move for anything. Creepy??? The guy taking the picture above was at a bootcamp and told him to make the meanest face he could… If i remember correctly… Aside from he & i… There were alot of hillbillys and 5’7″ bookworm types with curly hair way overgrown and squinting through there too big (no doubt drugstore) glasses taking notes frantically… And the only 2 people better dressed than myself, were his lawyer and the judge… Well… The prosecutor was diva’d out too… I’ll give her that. So marty??? Pull the nasty jail issued clothes off that Man… Give him a razor… And i promise you… He could walk any runway in New York. Creepy my ass! But he was proud of how mean his picture was… He said… ‘I did good right babe?’ ‘Does it look mean?’ U live in a cage half ur life… Then come out… Not knowing how to use the phones, the internet… Get anxious around crowds, wake up every night in a nightmare that you are getting stabbed… Report for parole where all the drug dealers hang out… And tell me how well the system is working…

Programs???? Yeah right… As if they teach anyone anything in michigans prisons… I mean… At least they get cable… And appArently… Its easier to get drugs in prison then on the street!! Who knew!! I mean… Wayne county parole officers have options… Rehab, tether… But wayne county inparticular likes to ignore dirty urine tests… amd wait until after something serious happens… Like a few felonies… Before they try to intervene. I believe several people including mr. Bewernitz begged his officer to put him in rehab… Himself included…. And… She could have… But no… She waited until well… We know how it ended. Gotta love those wayne county parole offices!!!

I also know Mr. Bewernitz. He does look pretty creepy in that picture. He is nice and not creepy in person but…he is a drug addict and his parents spend thousands to help him out and wasted a lot…he stole from everyone including his own family members…the problem isn’t the system it’s him and people like you who make excuses for him and oh poor guy the system is doing this to him…no…WAKE UP! He is doing this to himself and has been since he was what in his early teens? I know plenty of people who went to private rehabs (like he did) and came out and got themselves clean…they never stole from people and put people through hell and blamed everyone else but themselves. YOU ARE AN ENABLER. The guy does drugs because he can’t deal with reality. He doesn’t love anyone but heroin. Until he learns to love himself and stop depending on everyone else to save him…he is going to continue to be living in the system and waking up having nightmares of people stabbing him. Do I feel sorry for him? Hell no. I hope he gets better and he can win the battle but after over 15 years of continued drugs use and excuses…someone has to wonder why anyone should put their faith in his ability to stop. Why should the government and tax payers be responsible for putting a grown man in rehab because he can’t control his own life. That’s not the government or tax payers job. He has had more help than most addicts have the luxury of having and threw it all out the window. It’s not the systems fault…it’s a 30 something year old guys fault who rather live in lala land than in the real world.

He is as disrespectful is a human can be . He takes no responsibility for anything and wants to place blame on the system . He is in his thirties, stop committing crimes , stop using drugs, and grow up. I had the pleasure of knowing him and yes he is an absolute asshole.
