Our friend Kristin came over tonight with her daughter, Fern. They brought us some tiny gloves and socks for Arlo. It was super nice of them, and, given that it’s getting a lot colder out, we can certainly use them. I know I should leave it at that… and I apologize for looking a gift horse in the mouth… but there’s something that I just don’t understand. What’s the fifth piece is for?

This is actually very smart. All baby socks should come in threes, rather than pairs, because one always falls off on a walk, or gets snatched by a dog or cat, or disappears in the wash. This way you have a back-up. Kristen and Fern know what’s up.
I think they’re all cock warmers. The ones on the left are for bent penises, though.
Maybe it’s for his tail. According to the Ron Paul newsletter, biracial babies have tails, right?
